Chapter 171: Demon Attack

As soon as I saw him, my first instinct was to run, but I had to protect the other students in the classroom. Instead, the best thing to do was to lure him out. Making sure he was watching, I headed down the hallway away from class just as the bell rang, causing students to run into their classes at the last minute.

"Jessica, where are you going?" Mrs. McKinney hollered down the hall from the classroom behind me.

"I forgot something," I called over my shoulder, but the hellhound shifter pushed past her, headed straight toward me. 

I headed quickly down the deserted hallway, trying to think of a place that would be private. I looked up and there was a bathroom ahead. I ran in and quickly checked all the stalls, and it was empty. Then I threw my backpack in the corner and plastered myself against the wall beside the door to wait.

He barged in and I quickly locked the door so no one would come in.
