Where is she?

Bella slammed the door and threw her bag on the couch. Angrily, she opened her fridge door and grabbed a beer. Whilst leaning against the counter, she downed it in one gulp. Then she crushed the can in one hand and imagined it was Paul's member.

"Angry?" said a voice with a chuckle.

Bella jumped in surprise, she looked around. Sat in one of the chairs in the living space, hidden in darkness, was the outline of a man.

"Whose there?" she asked feeling panicked.

The man stood and walked around the furniture. Bella gasped as he finally walked into the light, allowing her to see him for the first time.

"Angel? What the hell are you doing here? How did you get in?" she asked anger replacing her shock.

Angel smirked at her as he continued to advance. It wasn't until he was really close that Bella noticed the gun in his belt. A cold chill went down her spine. Slowly, she started to move backwards back towards the door. Angel noticed her movements and smirked. He pulled the gun out whilst shaking his head.

"I don't think so Bella,"

Bella froze.

"What do you want?" she asked, trying to sound braver than she felt.

She had never seen Angel as a threat before, but the gun changed that instantly. Having a cop as a father, she knew better than to panic but it was harder than it sounded to remain calm when you had a gun pointed at you.

"Your coming with me," he said as he gripped her arm and pushed the gun into her side.

Bella shook her head. She knew better than to go anywhere with him. He could still kill her hear but at least here she would be discovered sooner than in some isolated or empty place.

"Go to hell!" she sneered at him as she tried to get out of his grip.

Angel smirked at her and slapped her across the face with the butt of the gun. Bella touched her face, there was blood on her fingers. She glared at him but nodded, she knew she had no choice.

Her heart hammered in her chest, as she walked down the stairs. She was afraid the porter would hear it as she passed his desk. Instead, he smiled at her and nodded his head before returning to his paper. A part of her was thankful for that, as she wasn't sure exactly what Angel would do if he tried to stop them, and another part wished he had.

Once outside, she was forced into a car, that was waiting. Something was then forced over her mouth, Bella instantly passed out. The last thing she remembered was Angel ordering the driver to drive.

Earlier that night, Sam rushed to Paul's house. Paul was pacing back and forth in his living room. Angrily he glared at Sam as he walked in, Sam held up his hands in defence.

"Hey man! Calm down, this was all just a misunderstanding," he said.

"What were you doing there?" Paul demanded.

"I went to get a drink I'd been there for ten minutes already when they walked in. Then you called me. When I said that I had seen Bella and Emily talking, I meant that I was currently seeing them. I just wanted to confirm how trustworthy Bella is by saying that she talked to Emily about you but kept your identity a secret. I hadn't realised Bella had walked past me, a woman next to me sprayed this god-awful perfume and lots of it. I couldn't smell anything else," he explained. "Bella misunderstood why I was there, I will …." Sam stopped talking, Paul suddenly became still, with a panicked look on his face. "What is it?" Sam asked.

"Bella," he whispered. "Somethings wrong," he said.

Both men raced to Bella's apartment. Sam showed the porter his ID and he let them into her apartment. Thankfully, Bella was staying in one of the complexes owned by the company for out-of-town workers. Otherwise, they may have had to break in.

The first thing that hit both of them, when they walked in, was the smell of blood. It was only a small amount, but neither could find the source. They noticed drawers open in the living space, and in the bedroom. Someone had been looking for something. They could smell a strong male scent as well.

"I'm sure I've smelt that scent before," Sam said as they looked around.

"Can you remember?" Paul asked frantically.

Sam moved closer to the chair where the scent was strongest.

"Ah I remember now, it's that guy that works in the same office as Bella. I think he is the floor manager or something like that," he explained.

"Call Emily, get his information. I'll call Jared to come help," Paul commanded.

Sam took out his phone and dialled her number. After meeting her before, he had used his privileges to find her number. He hadn't called yet as he needed to find a good reason to call, but now he had one.

"Hello," she answered groggily.

"Hello Emily, it's Sam. We met some time ago," he said.

Instantly, Emily woke up.

"Yes …. Yes, I remember," she said as she sat up in bed.

"I'm sorry for calling so late, but I need your help. I understand you are at home, but can you access employee information from there?" he asked.

"Yes, I can, my laptop is connected to the system. When the system went down a few months ago, I still needed to access the files. So, I was given permission to use my personal laptop. What do you need?" she explained as she walked into her living room and turned on her laptop.

"I need to know everything about the guy that works with Bella," he said, Emily was confused.

"Why do you need to know this information, even though you work for the company, I can't just give it to you without a good reason."

She felt bad for asking him, but she also didn't want to get in trouble with her boss. Sam smiled and looked at Paul. He had already finished his conversation with Jared and was watching him, listening in, he nodded.

"I understand Emily, the thing is Paul and I came to speak to Bella about the misunderstanding earlier. We noticed the door ajar, it's clear someone has been in looking for something. We checked the CCTV footage, that guy was here. Bella isn't here so we are worried. I remembered I saw him in her office, so we need to find out as much information about him as we can," he half lied, Emily gasped in shock.

"Oh, my goodness, I dropped Bella off at her place. I should have gone up with her, I suggested it, but she said she wanted to be alone. Ok, give me a second. Give me your email and I will send everything we have to you," she said. "Ok, it's sent. Shall I come over and help you look for her?" Sam smiled.

"No, Emily you stay there. I will call you when we have found her," he said.

Emily sagged in disappointment.

"Please Sam, I can't just sit here knowing that Bella could be in danger." She begged him, Sam was lost.

"Emily it might be dangerous," he warned.

Emily slammed the laptop closed.

"I don't care, Bella is my friend and I want to help," she demanded.

Sam wanted her safe, but he knew she wouldn't take no for an answer. He looked at Paul and he held his hand out for the phone.

"Hello Emily, this is Paul Lahote," he introduced himself, Emily gasped.

"Lahote? As in the Lahote development company?" she asked in shock.

"Yes, Emily if you want to help Bella. I need to know what she has been working on and what she has discovered. I know she was sent here because of issues with some documents, can you go to Bella's office? See if you can find any information that might help," he explained. "I am going to send my driver over with you, just in case. He can protect you if anything happens," Emily nodded.

"Ok, I have a vague idea of what she was working on. Plus, I can search Angel's desk too," she said.

He hung up and messaged Seth to go pick up Emily and stay with her. He gave the phone back to Sam who pulled up his emails.

"Ok, the guy's name is Angel Iglesias. He has worked for you for five years; he has no immediate family. All we have is his home address on file, I doubt he is stupid enough to take her there. Let me call a friend and see if he can find anything else," he said.

Jared finally showed up, Paul filled him in whilst Sam was on the phone. They anxiously watched Sam as they waited for him to finish. Finally, Sam hung up and smiled at Paul.

"Angel has one other property under his family's name. It's a building down by the river, it's a long shot but it's all we've got to go on," he said.

All three men raced off, hoping they weren't too late.
