1 Beginning of them all

Alec went down to his parents' study so that he can hear whatever they want to tell him that night.

It's not like his parents were angry or sad, they kept their normal demeanor and looked at him as he opened the door. He always has that shiver going down his spine whenever he enters this room. What bad could happen? They loved him to do anything to him...right?

His mother looked at him with loving eyes and a wide smile that was stretched a little. Seems painful, to smile like that just because you feel obliged to. He knew damn well that, that smile is as fake as her makeover but then there is nothing she could do.

She was an Omega and she would listen to whatever her alpha would say. Speaking of alpha, Alec averted his look to his father who was an honest man. He always gave him the right expression on the right occasion.

"Dad. What is it?" Alec asked as he played with his fingers nervously. His dad rose from the seat he was sitting in and came towering at him. He was too tall for him and he had to look up. With his neck craned up, he could see the alpha's nose flair as he soften his expression.

His father, who is the alpha and the head of this house, always soften around him. As if he is very fragile and he could breakdown with a little misstep. Which is correct, but he long for someone to look at him like he is, and not some weak Omega like the mainstream.

His dad reached out and took his dancing fingers. The contact making some shivers run through his entire being.

"Alec Myers. Will you stop being nervous? You are scaring me son." Alec stiffened. Dad sensed that so he released his hand, took one step back then stared at him like there is no tomorrow.

Alec Myers. That is the name he's yet to get used to. His name before this wasn't pretty and he doesn't even want to remember that. Just seeing how original his dad was, made his eyes watery. If he was not here, he doesn't think these soft eyes would be upon him. Considering that high maintenance omega on his left, and the look spotted on her face.

Dad sighed and turned to mom. Who was admiring her perfectly trimmed nails.

"I don't think he's ready Melina." Mom shot him a look. He couldn't process what that look is but he had been getting it quite a lot now.

"Why honey? It's not always about Alec you know. Now think about the other child." She said her attention not fully on dad.

What other child? They only have one daughter, Careen who is like 20 now. And they won't refer to her as the other child in front of him, because if compared to Careen... he was the other child.

He shot dad a confused look and he nodded in the process. He let out a frustrated groan that was filled with anger. Jean Myers was just being frustrated about the way his wife behave in front of Alec. Gods know what she is doing to the boy once he's out of her sight.

"Son. We are going to adopt another child. She was on process and today it was finalized... so she will come around tomorrow." He stopped to see Alec's reaction but he held that not interested expression.

It's not Alec's fault anyway. The news wasn't that exciting to him. I mean what could be so important that they called him in the middle of the night just to tell him about the newcomer? Maybe the child is obnoxious or maybe she is of other races that are newly discovered. Or... is she one of those omega discriminating forums?

He couldn't understand why this news had to be said to him, even though the decision was already done. And it's not like his input was important on this matter. He is also adopted, so he won't be so heartless as to reject shelter for the poor girl.

"And this girl...is she dangerous?" Alec asked as he arched his head forward to make it super urgent. His dad looked at him in confusion for few seconds before letting out a shaky chuckle.

"No, no son she isn't. I just wanted to tell you about her so you won't feel strange when she arrives." Jean said and scratched his forehead a little. Alec smiled at his dad as he shifts on another leg.

"I won't dad. Careen..?" He didn't finish the question because his dad already understood him.

Despite that Alec was an adopted son and very late adoption to Careen's family, Careen was sweet and loving to Alec. At times that Jean was going far away from home, Careen made it easier for him to live under the house's roof. If you remove his foster mother's hawk eyes.

"Careen would be back too. Her studies there are over anyway. Though she seems to like Romania more than here." Said Jean and let out his manly chuckle again. Alec smiled again.

"I have school tomorrow. Can I go to bed now?" Alec asked and looked down shyly. Jean approached him and landed a kiss on his hair. He ruffled them a little and gave him a last kiss.

"Sleep tight son."

"Same to you dad. Mom." He said shooting a look at his mom for the last time. Luckily his mom didn't look up nor replied anything. He made his way out and closed the door.

That's when he heard an alpha growl inside followed by a whimper. He let it go and started upstairs to his room.

Sometimes he wonders what happened to moon goddess the day she paired Jean and Melina. They are completely different from each other. Though there is one moment or two of romance but not frequently.

He wonders if his existence is the one that made these people distant from each other. Maybe if he disappears, the once happiness will return.

He plopped onto the bed and faced the ceiling. His thoughts wandered to the new girl. That's when he remembered that he didn't even ask for her name... ugh whatever.

He silently prayed that sleep to take him over. He recently has trouble sleeping, though his doctor told him he doesn't have insomnia. Maybe he just tries hard not to think...but he thinks too much that the night is shortened..... doesn't make sense does it?

The next thing he knew he was up and very tired at that. He had puffy eyes and they were heavy.. someone barged into the room and that startled him.

He looked at the door and there stood the chief maid, Maria.

"Maria. What's the occasion?" He got out of the bed to the bathroom as he suddenly felt the urge of relief. He heard curtains opened.

"It's your school day Alec. That much is an occasion." He returned and saw Maria organizing his outfit. Maria was so fashionable and anything she chooses always gave him a model vibe.

She turned to him and scan him up and down. Alec looked at himself.

"What is it?" Maria sighed and place the clothes down. She followed him and squat in front of him since he was short.

"Son, did you get problems at night? You seem like you hardly slept." She said touching his shoulder. Alec was nearly crying by now. Everyone in this house despises him...they all call him young master and bow to hide their hate. But only Maria was there for him. Maria was a mother to him...

"I...I..." Maria cut him off by hugging him tightly. She patted his back and told him it was alright.

"Go prepare yourself for school...I'll be back." Maria exited the room

Alec looked at himself and how he was pathetic. He tried hard to be strong for himself. It's not like he likes the pitiful looks he's been getting... He despises them. Then there is nothing he can do.

He descended downstairs and Maria was nowhere to be seen. Jean and Melina must have gone to work or pack activities. Since Jean was the main alpha in their pack...it was so easy for them to stay alone...because of Alec's social anxiety.

He opened the door and his driver was leaning on the car waiting. He made his way towards him.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting," Alec said hanging his head. The driver ruffled his hair.

"Will you look at that? Anyone would think I'm dad scolding you. You are my boss...also you are my son. So you are worth a wait. Hop in." Driver said

A drive to school always was not the quiet one. Mr. Herman, that is the driver...is a chatterbox. And he makes the journey enjoyable.

"We part ways here." Herman gave Alec his bag and smiled.

"Be a good boy son." And he scrams the car. When it disappeared he turned and bumped into something hard.

"Ow!" He said rubbing my forehead. He looked up and there stood Miles, the kid that hates him the most. They were both seniors and well, unfortunately, they shared the same classes.

"I'm sorry!" Alec said hanging his head. He came closer and lifted his head forcefully. Alec winced in pain. Miles reeked of weed and the moment that smell hit Alec's nose...his inside started to turn.

"Sorry? What did ya do?" He said getting extra closer. Alec's breath started to quicken. He shut his mouth so he can breathe through his nose but it was no good...his chest began to rise.

It was painful really..and an asthma attack was not the one he would like to have early in the morning.

"Release the boy," A strange deep voice said and Miles backed away from him. Alec turned around and saw a man standing there with Careen. Careen a worried look on her face. The man, who had Raven black hair and oceanic blue eyes looked at Miles with such hate.

He came closer. Miles being persistent as he is, lifted his hand to slap Alec. Alec closed his eyes ready to feel the effect, only it never came.

He was shoved into a hard chest that had a strange soothing smell....his attack became worse.
