Chapter 18: Sarutobi Hiruzen

Inside the mini dragon world, Kasai was sitting cross-legged with a notebook in his hands, he was looking at some jutsu that he had designed and formulated or you can say theorized, which was scribbled on the notebook.

Ever since the day he came here, Kasai came up with different ideas about new Justus which weren't known here. From then, he was able to finally see the effects of four of the Justus that he had scribbled on his notebook, namely, the three Fire Releases he used; the Fire Snake technique(C-Rank), Dragon's Flare Technique(C rank), and the twin Fire snakes(B -rank).

The other one is the medical ninjutsu that Hina used, the Blazing Breeze technique(C - Rank).

Right now, he wanted to get stronger and learn new Justus for himself, so he won't have to worry about their future missions, and he could do that inside the mini dragon world.

From what had happened earlier, he could not take it easy in living his life here anymore. No matter where he goes, life won't always keep him safe.

His current strongest jutsu is the twin Fire snakes, which are not focused on damage. It was an advanced variation of the Fire Snake, which was designed as a sealing technique with burning effects. Although it was supposed to be a fuinjutsu, its sealing effects aren't as strong as some B-rank Fuinjutsu.

The twin Fire snakes were able to seal the movements of the shinobi he fought earlier, because of the damage he received from the paper bomb. So all in all his jutsu list isn't that useful unless facing dumb or injured opponents.

Back on the notebook, Kasai's eyes landed on the ninjutsu he designed. It was at least a B-rank Ninjutsu or possibly higher than B rank, which he called the Fire Release: 7 Pillars of Hell. It was a jutsu that produces 7 towers of fire from the ground, which surrounds the enemy as it burns everything between it.

The radius and range of the ninjutsu made Kasai certain that it requires a massive amount of chakra. The other downside to the ninjutsu is that the opponent could easily leave its range as long as he/she won't lose his/her reasoning when caught by the ninjutsu.

Although he had enough chakra reserves for one of of of of 7 Pillars of Hell, he could not possibly use this during a battle or he'll exhaust his Chakra reserves before he could even finish his opponent. Plus, he still didn't know if it'll work or it is safe ninjutsu, considering the range of the jutsu, it could possibly hurt himself while casting it.

"I should look for better ninjutsu. Although its burning effects would be so massive that it might turn a branch into dust in a minute, it'll still be a waste if the enemy could endure the pain and leave its range," Kasai mumbled as he turned to the next page and read the next on his list.

What was next on his list was a water release, which was his secondary chakra nature. The ninjutsu was called Water Release: Wild Water Chain. Kasai ranked it on a C - Rank or above ninjutsu. Based on his design and the descriptions of how should it work, the jutsu could be used as an offense and defense.

It could probably be used to attack every enemy in his surroundings near 3 - 7 meters and could also be used to deflect small attacks directed at him. When casting the ninjutsu, the user releases water through his/her mouth which would form into a chain that would immediately attack its surroundings wildly.

"Wild Water Chain... hmmm... I could try this one.." He muttered as he studied the process of releasing the jutsu.

First, he had to mobilize his Chakra through his mouth and discharge a large amount of water which was needed to form a chain. When the chain was formed, the user could let it let loose in his surroundings or control it to surround him in a spiral for defense.

Kasai closed his notebook and went to a distance. He stood straight as he started to weave the hand seals as he mobile his Chakra then opened his mouth.

As he opened his mouth, water flowed out while it simultaneously took the form of a chain. He thought he had it with his first try, but in the middle of the forming of a chain, the chakra scattered and caused the water to explode sending him flying away from his previous spot.

"Damn It! I was lucky to have come out from that unscathed," Kasai groaned as he struggled to get up. "At least I found out that It was possible for me to complete the jutsu," he added as a small grin appeared on his lips.

Kasai stood up determined and tried casting the jutsu again until he got exhausted before he returned to his room and went to sleep. By the time he returned, 3 hours had already passed from the time he went to the mini dragon land.

.............

The next morning, Kasai was awakened by the early call of Hina outside his apartment. Although he was still exhausted from his training last night, Kasai chose to agree to Hina's plan for the morning, which is to visit the ramen shop, then visit Aoki at the hospital.

At the ramen shop the two of them, met Haruto, Manaka, and Yumi who happened to pass by the shop.

"Kasai, I heard your team had an accident yesterday," Haruto said as soon as they sat beside the two. Haruto was the first to always strike up a conversation with whoever he was met.

"Yeah, We happened to encounter foreign shinobis during our mission," Kasai replied. Hina was silent went he replied.

Haruto's eyes were gleaming when he heard Kasai's reply. "That's cool--"

"It wasn't," Hina suddenly mumbled with her head low. "We almost died, and it wasn't cool," she added.

"But you survived, isn't that cool?" Haruto insisted.

"It wasn't, okay?" Hina said in a gloomy tone. She took a deep breath and looked up towards Haruto with a smile. "Let's just forget about what happened yesterday, and let's eat ramen!" She muttered.

Haruto shook his head and wanted to reply but was cut off by Yumi, who could see how Hina doesn't want to talk about the events. "But--" "Haruto, just eat up, and stop blabbering."

The five of them ate ramen while they try to talk about other things. Haruto, who still wanted to talk about the events, was left pouting on the side as he ate ramen.

After eating, Kasai and Hina separated from the three and went to visit Aoki at the hospital. They saw Aoki on the hospital bed, still not able to move due to exhaustion.

The medical ninja was able to completely heal Aoki's injury, leaving only the choice for him to rest for 2 days before taking on another mission.

By the afternoon, Kasai and Hina headed to the Hokage's office, to attend to the Hokage's summon for their team, except for Aoki.

Upon reaching the office, their sensei Gin, was already there waiting for them with the Hokage. Sarutobi Hiruzen was sitting behind his desk while Gin was standing in front of him.

Kasai thought that the reason why Sarutobi Hiruzen, the 3rd Hokage, just wanted to hear the whole event from them.

"Gin, I believe the other one was at the hospital, recuperating from his wounds he acquired yesterday," Hiruzen inquired as soon as he sees Kasai and Hina stood beside their sensei.

"Yes, Lord Third," he replied.

Hiruzen nodded. "Yesterday, the three of you encountered two shinobi, one of them is a registered chunin of our village," he paused as he looked at the two intently with his eyes before he continued with his words, "I wanted you to give me the full report of what happened in that woods."

Kasai nodded as he started to narrate the whole event while leaving out the visions he saw yesterday. He still hasn't found out the reason why he had seen that or what's the purpose of that vision. He doesn't want to alert the higher-ups with these weird things that were shown to him. It could just be a genjutsu or maybe not.

When done with his full version, Hiruzen nodded his head.

"I see, so you weren't able to hear a thing from their exchange of information?" Hiruzen spoke in disappointment.

Hiruzen was hoping to know if they were able to eavesdrop on the conversation of the foreign shinobis. "Well, if this is the case, we could only choose to tighten the Village's security system, and be ready for an underhanded attack from Iwagakure," he added.

"Lord Third, haven't we acquired any results from the interrogation process with captured the chunin?" Gin suddenly asked.

Kasai looked up when hears Gin asked. That guy that hurt Aoki was caught, so they should have some Intel they got from him.

The Hokage shook his head as he glanced at Kasai and spoke, "Sadly, the injuries caused by the jutsu that your student, Kasai, used had caused too much damage to that said chunin."

Shocked by the words of Hiruzen, Kasai step forward and stared a Hiruzen.

"The chunin was dead upon reaching the hospital, and so we sent a person from the Yamanaka Clan, but He failed. The Yamanaka assigned to check on his memories reported that the damage was done internally that extracting Intel is impossible."

"With due respect Lord Third, what do you mean my jutsu caused too much damage?" Kasai asked politely.

"The effects of the Jutsu that you used wasn't able to cause much damage externally, but the damage internally was a little too much to be labeled as a C - Rank ninjutsu," Hiruzen replied seriously. "Based on the previous report of your jutsu, passed by your teacher, the chakra consumption was just at the level of a c - Rank, but the damage far surpasses its given rank." He continued.

"How great was the damage that made it impossible to extract Intel?" Gin asked, couldn't help but curious.

"Yes, Lord Third how can that be?" Hina also asked.

Hiruzen stopped and gave a serious look to the three and replied, "The brain was burnt to ashes by the jutsu."
