Dan finally reached the perk menu and was surprised to find a perk that was not available in the game. It was called "fear the PULSE" and had the following description:
"Normally, pulse grenades and mines do not harm humans, but since you are not fully human, the EMP will cause you to lose health, battery time, and cause you to freeze in place for a second or two."
Feeling disappointed, Dan mumbled to himself, "Come on, that's just a downside. What the hell." But he soon forgot about it when he saw that all the other people that were in the cryo pods were either flat-lined or killed by the auto-doc.
Dan left the cryo room and walked down a hallway where he saw a skeleton in a lab coat and a card around its neck. Cautiously, he removed the card from its neck, fearing that it might come alive. The card read "Jacob Vain - occupation- Overseer" and had a picture of the man, who appeared to be a man in his 40s with brown hair a bald spot.
Dan kept exploring the vault and found most areas to be empty. However, when he entered the cafeteria, he saw seven skeletons behind a broken down barricade of tables, cabinets, and chairs. The floor was littered with broken guns. He also spotted a skeleton security officer. "The armor is tattered, but the helmet is untouched, apart from a bullet hole. But it's not like they'll hit the same spot," Dan chuckled to himself and put on the helmet, and continued his journey.
On the way, he found a tool closet door with a lot of dents and bullet holes. He attempted to fix the door's circuits but found them to be completely fried. So, he pried it open with his hands and exclaimed, "Wow, these things are strong!" Inside the closet, he heard a click and quickly crouched. A gun fired a moment later.
Going back in, Dan saw that he had triggered a shotgun trap. "Good thing it was old and delayed, otherwise, I'd be dead," he said nervously. He looked around the room and saw hammers, saws, and other tools. He also noticed a skeleton leaning against a wall and 12 empty sugar bomb boxes around it. He saw a holotape on a shelf and picked it up. The notes were uploaded to his interface and he began reading through them. It said that the skeleton had stolen the sugar bombs from the cafeteria and hid them here, but others found out and he was forced to fry the circuits and set a trap the food lasted him for 2 weeks he couldn't get out because he fried the circuits so he died of starvation
the vault was small too small there were less than 20 rooms so he reached the overseer's office with ease opening up the overseer's terminal he checked out the logs

"I have finally be come the overseer but this was a trap this was a demo vault first in Nevada so the higher ups cut any corner they could we had 200 years of food we have eaten most of it. less than half remains and due to the corner cutting the agricultural system was very cheaply made this we can not make more food"

three mole rats had burrowed into the food storage and ate the most of it we ate the mole rats but there wasn't enough food to last us anymore tensions are high

Jacob threw a fire bomb in my quarters good thing I was in my office or I whould have died we have detained him

we had to kill the sick and old to lower the food consumption rate canibalism may become necessary

riots are happening most of us died maybe 5 are left apart from the dwellers I had to seal them off
they don't need food so they should be fine I'm going to make a run for the exit I know I might die if I go out but it should be better than this

if we didn't have it worst the mole rats attacked bit us all neither of us have eaten in weeks were to weak we patched up the wounds but we won't make it...

getting out of the logs Dan pressed the secret passage button witch revealed a stairway connected to a hallway leading to the vault door
"it's....it's..it's majestic" Dan marveled at the giant metal door rusted by time going over to the control panel Dan tried to unlock the door it made a lot of noise and text appeared on the control panel "door estimated time to open 3 days"
"OH COME ON!" said dan furstrated
