three men were sitting in a bar talking to each other. two of them were dressed in mercenary clothing and the third one was dressed in casual clothing

"this is where he was few days ago, it doesn't matter if he's alive or not just don't damage the technology, once you're finished my employer will pay handsomely for it"

"how much"

"1500 caps"

"what happens if we do damage it"

"you won't get paid"

"alright it's a deal, where do we take him once we're done?"

"just go here and we'll exchange the tech for caps" the man opened up a bag and took out a piece of paper with something written on it

it had been a week since he was in the settlement. Dan had a meal and went out into the rising pines settlement. dan was walking towards the shop set up by a new merchant that had moved in after the word got out that the Yao guai was killed,

but he was stopped by the settlement leader

"hey Dan do you need some caps?"

"I always need caps"

"listen, our brahmin keep ending up killed. it's the bark scorpion nest in the abandoned barn up on that hill"

"how many caps are you gonna pay me?"

"150 caps"

"come on I'm gonna end up losing money on all the supplies so i need more than that"

"alright. 175"

"200 caps"

"sorry but I'm not made of caps. I need every cap I have to rebuild this place"

[speech check failed]

"fine I'll go in a bit"

Dan went into a store and spent 85 caps on 3 boxes of surplus 10mm bullets,50 caps on e-cells and 30 on 2 Molotov cocktails and went up to the barn on the hill.

Dan approached the side of the barn and started to sneak into the barn there were at least 15 bark scorpions distracted by eating a dead brahmin

he took out the overachiever and shot four surplus bullets, killing three of them and wounding one. all the other scorpions turned around and started to march towards him. Dan used vats and shot 5 more bullets killing 4 more Scorpions. the clip was now empty so Dan started to reload the pistol but one scorpion made it to Dan's legs and tried to sting him but the stinger just bounced off his metal legs witch immediately stomped the scorpion killing it "wow these guys are weak" said Dan as he finished reloading the pistol and killed 4 more Scorpions.

by now most of the scorpions tried and failed to sting him after Which the were stomped. Dan finished killing all of them and was about to leave but suddenly the ground started to shake and out of the floorboards burst out a bark scorpion as big as a human.

[legendary bark scorpion has appeared]

"Holy shi-"Dan was about to say but he rolled back as the scorpion flung it's claw towards him and shot few surplus rounds some got through but most bounced off

Dan took out a clip filled with normal rounds and replaced the surplus rounds with it then charging up the overachiever and shooting it's eyes with vats

all the bullets were landing but as he was shooting he got stung in the abdomen leaving a big hole in his body and causing him to fly back and crash through the barn wall

the poison moved through his body causing a lot of pain and damage

Dan quickly jammed a stimpack into his stomach which helped with the pain but the poison and the stim were negating each others effects

Dan rolled to the side to doge another swing and threw a Molotov on it the scorpion was enveloped by the fire using the moment Dan shot rest of his bullets he had in the clip into its skull finally Killing it

"finally" Dan said exhausted from the pain and blood loss as he took out another stimpack and used some healing powder which boosted his healing speed but he needed to sit down first

few minutes later Dan opened up the level up menu and put 5 points in medicine 5 in speech and 5 in energy weapons then he looked over the perks most of them were the same as the game but one was different

description; shoot a powerful laser beam from your hand, it costs 10% of all battery power and the damage scales with energy weapon skill

dan finally got up took out the scorpions poison gland then started setting fire to the barn with the Molotov to make sure there were no survivors left and went back to town and met up with the leader

"woah what happened to your armor up there"

"THERE WAS A LEGENDARY UP THERE WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!?" Dan said pissed off

"I didn't know or I would have told you"

"you better give me more caps for all this trouble"

"ok I feel terrible here's a extra bit of caps from my pocket"

Dan went back home put down all the weapons and prepared to sleep when he remembered something

"oh man I'm gonna have to buy new armor this one has a huge hole in it's middle but that's for tomorrow I just wanna pass out" said Dan as he laid down on the bed and went to sleep
