Shocking Revelations

Chapter 18

William had several thoughts floating through his mind as he leaned against a wall. He was in the corner to the left of the hospital bed where Harper rested. She wasn't too badly hurt, but a trip to the hospital could never hurt anything.

William snapped his eyes open sensing a familiar presence approaching him. He stared in front of him, and after no more than thirty seconds Jace entered the room.

"You have a habit of getting into troublesome situations, my young pupil." Jace glanced at Harper before locking eyes with him. "What happened exactly? I could sense you using your powers."

William frowned. "I had an encounter with one of Dahak's followers."

"I suspected as much."

"Talia. The water Elemental that I fought, was sent to kill her." Willam said. "Dahak is killing everyone connected to me."

Confusion spread across his instructor's face. "How do you know this girl?"

"She's my girlfriend's best friend." William failed to mention the drama that was most likely happening between her and Alex. It wasn't like he didn't care. William didn't feel like it was appropriate to ask about what was going on between her and Alex. If he didn't arrive she would have died after all. Harper and the others were still in danger.

"What do you want to do? As it stands now you won't be a match for Dahak."

William sighed. "I know, but I can't just stand back and watch as he continues to make New York his battleground. I won't let him do as he pleases."

"Alright then. I'll help you take him down."

William looked at him with surprise.

Whatever he expected him to say, this certainly wasn't it. The training he received from him had proved to be enlightening. He had learned techniques that he had never heard of before. That being said he didn't think he'd join him on his quest to battle Dahak.

"Not even I'm strong enough to go against Dahak. I don't know why, but somehow I have a feeling that betting on you is the right decision, besides if I don't do this won't you be in trouble? You can't be in multiple spots at once."

"That's true, but even with the two of us I don't think it's realistic that we can keep everyone involved safe."

"I know Dahak personally. If he knows that you're alive he might focus on you rather than those around you."

"We can only hope."

Adrian widened his eyes as he stared at Talia. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"What you're saying is impossible. I was there Talia, Lord Dahak cut him in half." Adrian said, watching as she crossed her arms across her chest.

"I don't know how he survived something like that, but he's alive. William is a tough little shit I'll give him that." Talia said as an irritated look appeared on her face. "I wasn't going all out, but he shouldn't have kept up with me like that. Lightning Elemental or not."

Adrian sighed. "That sounds like him. Damn it!" He clenched his fists tightly. "This is bad. Me and Allen worked as a team to take him down. No matter what we did, it didn't work on him."

"No way. Sir, that can't possibly be true."

"It is, and what's worse is that he even gave Dahak a run for his money, for a little while anyway.

Talia just couldn't believe it. How was the boy so powerful?

"You got lucky. William doesn't kill, that's the only reason you're alive today, he was also fighting to protect someone."

Talia hated to admit it, but if everything she was told about William was to be believed then Adrian was right.

"We should inform Lord Dahak." Adrian turned around. "Contact Tyler. Have him meet us at the construction site if he isn't already there."

"Right away, sir."

Dahak had an uncharacteristically shocked expression on his face. Not much surprised him, but this did.

"And you're sure about this?" Dahak locked eyes with Talia who nodded.

"He didn't deny it when I addressed him as William. Also how many teenage Elementals do you know that make it a habit to get in our way?"

Dahak frowned. William wouldn't be a problem for him, but his men would have trouble with him. "This is what we're going to do. Let's take a break from getting rid of those involved with him."

"What would you have us do, my lord?" Adrian asked.

Dahak grinned.

"What else? Killing William is going to be our priority."

 ...

-An hour later-With Talia

Talia stood in front of a grave, the woman knelt down and placed a hand on the grave softly. "I'm so close, mom. The man I'm working for has promised to help me find the one responsible for killing you." She closed her eyes.

Suddenly she snapped her eyes open once she felt moisture in her eyes. Now she was irritated. Talia had promised herself that she wouldn't break down or cry. Not until she killed her mothers' murderer. With one of her fingers she wiped the tears that had formed in her eyes.

"The bastard who thought he could get away with this is going to pay." Talia smiled a little at the thought of getting her hands on her mother's killer. She didn't care about what happened to her so long as she got to kill the guy who took her mother away from her.

Talia's smile turned into an evil sneer as she thought of multiple things she could do to torment her prey.

Dahak was in a conversation with Adrian.

"You haven't been able to get into contact with Allen either?"

Adrian frowned. "This isn't like him. Allen usually answers right away. Something must have happened. Do you think it was William?"

"Perhaps."

There was a pregnant silence between the two Elementals. It was true that William was more than a match for Allen, but once he was defeated what would William do with him? He certainly wouldn't kill him.

"Just give it time Adrian. We'll hear from him again, after all William isn't a killer."

Adrian didn't say anything. His leader's logic wasn't wrong, but couldn't the boy

overwhelm him and capture him? There was a chance that could happen. William wanted to be the hero. He wanted to stop their evil deeds. He had even risked his life to stop them.

'I don't like this…the only reason Lord Dahak had an upper hand in his battle with William was because he could use purple lightning. What if Dahak didn't have that power up?

The Wind Elemental shuddered at the thought of what could have happened.

"Adrian. Stay Diligent. You are essential to my plans." Dahak said. "I haven't forgotten about my promise."

Adrian clenched his fists for several seconds before relaxing his hands.

"Yes sir.'

...

Waverly Substation

Alex was seated across the table from Justin. He noticed that she had an irritated look on her face.

"What's wrong?"

Alex didn't let it show. But she was surprised. Was it really so obvious that she was in a foul mood?

"Alex…"

The teen sighed. "I was just thinking about what to do next. Lets say we get rid of Adrian, what's after that? Dahak won't be easy to target. Actually it's pretty much impossible. He'd kill us in an instant. The city will be better without people like Allen and Adrian, but Dahak will still be a problem."

"That's a given, Alex. The man is a tyrant capable of killing hundreds. Someone like that won't be easy to take down. I'm not sure if anyone can take him down. I know you don't want to hear this, but William gave it his best shot and still died in the end. "

Alex scowled.

Justin observed her with a critical eye

"William…he tried…." Her voice cracked, tears forming in her eyes.

"I know. William was a hero. He was." Justin sighed. "But things are getting too dangerous in the city. It might be wise for us to pack up and leave New York."

Alex widened her eyes at her brother's suggestion. How could he suggest something like that?

"That idea may not be a terrible one, but it isn't a great one either."

Alex turned around to see their father placing his phone into his pocket. Justin, who had seen him approaching, noticed the troubled look on his face.

"That was Harper's parents."

Alex had a confused expression on her face. Justin had to admit that it didn't make much sense to him either. Why were Harper's parents calling? Was it about the argument between her and Harper?

"I have bad news. Harper is in the Hospital. She was attacked by an Elemental."

Justin and Alex widened their eyes.

"What?!" Alex rose to her feet, a horrified expression on her face.

"We should get going. I'll drive."

Alex didn't argue, instead she followed her father to the car. Justin trailed behind him with an uncertain look on his face.

The drive to the hospital took no more than thirty minutes. For the most part, the drive was silent, aside from a question or two that Justin had asked their father. Alex remained quiet for the entire car ride though. Jerry parked in an open space before turning off the engine. Alex opened the door on her side. Justin exited the car next followed by Jerry.

The Elder Russo locked the car before following his kids into the hospital. It was a giant building that had multiple floors. The building was gray and in the center was a giant plus logo which was white in color. Entering the Hospital they were told that Harper was on the second floor.

Alex and the others looked at the label on the wall beside the door.

Harper Finkle. It read.

Without a second thought Alex opened the door and immediately her worry turned into anger as she saw Harper on the bed, unconscious. Her anger didn't last long though. As soon as she fully entered the room she spotted a familiar figure in the corner of the room.

"It can't be."

".....Hello Alex."

Justin froze. "William?"

Everyone stared at the young hero who was thought to be dead with absolute surprise on their faces.

To be continued.

I don’t think I’m going to make this story too long. I think even twenty five chapters is pushing it but I’ll try to make it longer if I can
