After that day, Annie never left her house again, naively thinking that by staying indoors, such incidents wouldn't occur anymore.

She secretly returned home and continued her life as usual, pretending nothing had happened. However, the nightmare didn't end!

She lived peacefully for a few days, but after she let her guard down, she found herself involuntarily reciting that spell again! As before, monsters appeared as a result!

Thereafter, every few days, she would find herself reciting the spell involuntarily, even though she didn't want to!

What made her even more desperate was the increasing frequency of her spell recitations!

Each time, she watched those monsters look at her as if she were food, reluctant to leave, and then she would hear rumors about monsters appearing elsewhere.

She knew she was the main culprit behind the monsters rampaging in the North District, but she wasn't foolish enough to confess to the church and be burned at the stake. She wasn't ready to die like that!

In the morning, her father told her that he would ask the church's black-robed deacon to treat her. She had to be prepared and not let the black-robed deacon notice anything unusual!

"Come on, Annie, you can do it," Annie encouraged herself, patting her cheeks.

"Annie, come and meet the deacon!" Ael Walker's voice came from the living room.

"Okay, I'm coming." Annie gathered her courage and went to the living room. Her face was haggard, her eyes bloodshot, but she still made an effort to dress up, not wanting the deacon to notice anything unusual.

"Miss Annie is so beautiful," Joseph remarked, his eyes brightening at the sight of the haggard Annie. This type of girl was precisely to his taste.

"You flatter me, Deacon," Ael said, his face beaming with pride. If the deacon took a liking to Annie, it would be wonderful. This deacon had a promising future and could one day become a white-robed deacon. The rise of the Walker family was imminent!

Annie wore a shy look but inwardly cursed. Deacon Joseph's gaze was truly disgusting. And it seemed her father was intent on matchmaking her with this man she had just met. How could that be possible!

Deacon Joseph chuckled as he observed Annie for a long time, then performed a pretentious prayer and threw a small green tornado at Annie,

Annie was so startled she nearly jumped up, her face instantly turning pale. Luckily, her face was already haggard, or Joseph would have definitely noticed something was off.

This divine magic was practiced by all the major churches on the continent. Its effect was to detect the demonic energy within the person being detected. If the amount of demonic energy was very small, it indicated influence by a witch. If the amount of demonic energy was large, it indicated a witch!

As for non-church members, they could only buy the Holy Light Church's holy water at a high price.

After confirming that Annie was not a witch and had no traces of demonic energy on her, Joseph decided it was not a significant matter. Miss Annie's odd condition might just be due to some recent upsetting event.

Joseph lecherously smiled at Ael and said, "Mr. Ael, your beloved's body has not been influenced by supernatural forces, so you can rest assured. However, Miss Annie's condition might be related to her room. May I go see her room with Miss Annie?"

Ael readily agreed, praising the clergy's meticulousness.

When they reached Annie's room, Joseph told Ael, "I'll go in with Miss Annie alone. You don't need to follow."

Ael was slightly stunned. Was this deacon in such a hurry?

But it was fine for him. Ael winked at Annie for a while, then left with a smile.

Annie gave her father a pleading look, but he turned a blind eye and even left directly. Her father's behavior made Annie feel cold. She had always thought her father loved her the most, but now it seemed he was selling her out to this man?

Joseph closed the door, revealing a lecherous smile and lunged at Annie. He had observed early on that this girl probably didn't think much of him, but his father fully supported his actions, so he had no reservations.

Seeing the fierce Joseph pouncing on her, Annie made up her mind that she would not be defiled by him. She began to resist, pulling out a dagger and placing it against her neck!

She would rather die than submit!

But her resistance was negligible in front of a second-level priest. Joseph casually waved his hand, and Annie's dagger flew away. In front of Joseph, she was like a lamb under a lion, with no power to resist.

Joseph's desire intensified by her feeble resistance. After a series of actions, Joseph subdued Annie, making her unable to move. He began to undress her. In desperation, Annie, controlled, recited the spell, and two fierce monsters appeared in front of Joseph, viciously biting at him.

Unfortunately for Joseph, a second-level priest, these two small monsters were hard enough to defeat ordinary people, let alone Joseph. Joseph clasped his hands and then separated them, each hand now wrapped in a vortex of wind.

Second Circle Divine Magic, Swords of the North Wind.

With two swift slashes, the two oddly shaped small monsters were cut into pieces by Joseph's Swords of the North Wind, so quickly that there was no time to describe their appearance!

The two small monsters were quickly slain, but Annie didn't stop. Stimulated by Joseph, she entered the final phase of confusion, casting spells non-stop until her magical power was exhausted!

Annie summoned small monsters, and Joseph killed them. The two were deadlocked for a long time.

Finally, after summoning seventeen or eighteen small monsters, Annie's magical power was drained. She sat there listlessly, waiting for the imaginable cruel fate.

"Heh heh, so the monster disturbances that have kept us busy for so many days were caused by you, you wench? Really lucky, if I hadn't suddenly wanted you, who knows how much longer it would have taken."

Joseph laughed wildly, thinking he had caught a big fish. The main culprit behind the church's busy days was discovered by him.

Annie sat there silently, not even having the strength to speak.

Every wild witch's period of confusion after awakening involved releasing a large number of minor spells until their magical power was exhausted. However, the destruction caused by most wild witches during their period of confusion was so minor that it was rarely noticed.

"Since you're destined to die, let me have some fun before you die, haha."

Joseph smirked, rubbing his hands together at Annie.

"Before you have fun, it would be better if you died first."

A crisp male voice suddenly sounded in Joseph's ear.

Joseph was so scared that he jumped in place. Who's talking!

He quickly turned around, and saw a figure in a black robe, the hood hiding an array of cursed artifacts!

It was the Evil-face One!

"I-I-I, you-you-you, ah-ah-ah."

Joseph's mouth was tied in knots. He had been present during the fight between the Evil-face One and Reeves, knowing he was like a chick in front of this person.

He quickly regained his composure and started to run. Joseph, a deacon of the North Wind God, was confident he was faster than the Evil-face One. He gathered all his divine power in his feet, his speed like a gust of wind.

Joseph ran farther and farther, looking back, the terrifying Evil-face One did not chase after him!

But when he turned his head, he saw an unbelievable scene!

There was another Evil-face One in front of him!

Wait,

This Evil-face One had no cursed artifacts on his face!

An imposter!

"Get out of the way, don't block this deacon's path!"

Seeing the imposter Evil-face One, Joseph felt bold enough to yell at Horn, who stood in front of him.

But he didn't know that the person in front of him was Horn, the genuine Evil-face One!

And the one who had been speaking behind him was an illusion created by Enoch's magic!

Horn wouldn't move aside, and he wouldn't let this deacon leave alive!

Drawing his wand, chanting, and concentrating a fireball,

With a swing of his arm,

Great Fireball,

Fire!

Joseph had no time to think. He wasn't Reeves. Reeves could dodge Horn's magic, but he could only take the hit!

He couldn't even defend himself with the power of the North Wind!

The great fireball, carrying tremendous heat, struck Joseph in the waist and exploded, flames spreading and lifting a wave of scorching hot air!

And Joseph, at the center of the flames, had already become a charred corpse!

Horn stepped over the corpse on the ground and came to Enoch's side, looking at Annie, who had passed out, and said:

"Carry her on your back and take her away. We can't stay here any longer."

"Why do I have to carry her?" Enoch glared at Horn.

"Which of us is stronger?" Horn turned to look at Enoch.

"Hahaha, of course, it's me!" Enoch laughed.

"Since you're stronger, of course, you're the one to carry!" Horn said with a sly smile.

"It makes no sense for the stronger one..." Enoch tried to resist one last time.

Horn waved his hand to end the discussion: "Enough, don't dawdle. My fireball made quite a noise, the people from the Church of the North Wind will be here soon."

Reluctantly, Enoch carried the immobile Annie and followed Horn away from the place, returning to Douglas the carpenter's shop under the moonlight.

And the people from the Church of the North Wind who hurried over found nothing but a charred corpse.

Horn and Enoch didn't know that someone had been following them the whole time!

Someone they never noticed, despite priding themselves on their keen perception!

He was none other than the Dragon Slayer, Ilya!

Watching Horn and the others enter Douglas's carpentry shop, Ilya threw away the core of the fruit he was eating and muttered to himself:

"I'm not mistaken, that's the attire of a mage. That kid is definitely related to mages!"
