Within You (GL)

TEMPORARY HATIUS! I want to work on 'Well, Why Not?' for the time being! Thank you! “These lands are filled with magic...” A girl wakes up far from home, deep in a forest. She wanders around aimlessly before meeting a woman with bright blue hair. This is the story of a budding romance between a lost soul, and a mysterious woman in a new world. Author: This is my second novel, I’m also working on one called, ‘Well, Why Not?’. I just really wanted to write a fantasy GL, so here we are. Any criticism is welcome, I really need to improve my writing style!

Vines

The girl looked around the room in front of her. It looked like the woman's bedroom, a large bed backed up against a wall, a small nightstand adorned with several novelty items that she did not recognize, and what appeared to be some sort of floating lamp in the center of the room. The girl looked around in wonder. In each corner, vines were actively supporting the ceiling and adding to the room's decoration with several small flowers on each, "How do they do that?" Asked the girl, puzzled.

"Hmm? The vines?"-The girl nodded-"It's just an arbor charm...? Makes the plants do whatever I want them to." Responded the woman, concerned at her lack of knowledge, "Oh, I forgot to tell you my name, I'm Fiore."

"Nice to meet you, I guess." Responded the girl, still unsure if she should trust her or not. The girl noticed a doorway edged with vines, and decided that would be the best way to get away.

"So, I've yet to come up with a name for you." Said Fiore, smiling, "How about something with an R? Like Rio, er, no, Rey... maybe Reed?" She turned away from the girl for a few seconds, in which she tried to make a break for it. Right as she was about to make it past the doorway, the vines climbed up and blocked her way. She backed up, surprised by their sudden growth, and bumped into a pleased looking Fiore, "As you've noticed, I've placed another arbor charm on these vines. They won't let you leave any room without my say so." She waved her right hand, and the wall of vines dissipated, "I had hoped that you wouldn't have triggered it so soon after our meeting, Wren."

"Huh?" Said the girl confused.

"That's your name." She smiled, though she was still visibly disappointed.

"Okay... it's alright." Said Wren, "So, how am I supposed to leave?"

"Well, like I said earlier, you've got to beat me, or you could figure out how to undo the charm." Fiore said this with confidence, hinting that neither were easy feats to accomplish.

"How would I learn how to undo the charm?" Asked Wren, prodding for answers.

"You'd need to get your hands on some training books," she began, "although I did get rid of any that were in my house."

"Oh," said Wren realizing that she was going to be stuck here for quite a while, "why did you bring me here anyways?"

"Hmm... it was more of an impulse I guess. You were cute, and I wanted you, so I took you." Responded Fiore, trying to remember her thought process. Wren, still dumbfounded that this was allowed looked at her more closely. She had a gentle appearance, looking as if she wouldn't try to hurt anyone, defined eyebrows, and a small nose that ended with a bit of a point.

"I don't remember what I look like..." blurted out Wren suddenly.

"Oh, right. You have like amnesia of some sort don't you?"

"Yeah, I don't remember anything past waking up in the forest."

"That's a bit strange, you did look pretty lost when I found you. I can show you your reflection if you'd like." Wren nodded to signify that she would like that. Fiore pulled out a small painting from who knows where and tapped it a few times. The acrylic surface became smooth, and Fiore wiped off some dust. She handed Wren the paint- rather, the hand mirror and she took a moment to admire her reflection.

Hope you enjoyed the third chapter! Be sure to check out my other GL novel, ‘Well, Why Not?’ Thanks for reading!
