5 The hardest part

After so long of waiting, Ranz finally found himself sitting on a comfy Calibrator Chair. On his head was a head gear— better known as Neural Helmet.

Right now, all his eyes could see was the word,

[Welcome to World War Online!]

After about three seconds, the next that appeared was the blinking word in a small rectangular box. It was very conspicuous because of the glowing color.

[Synch Start]

Since the game has a voice navigation program, there was no need to press anything. He just needed to use his voice to navigate the buttons.

Looking at the rectangular box, a smile crept on his lips.

'This is it. This is for my future. I trained so hard just for this day. I even begged the school's most feared girl to become my mentor just so I could improve my Dexterity, run many laps around the plaza just to improve my Agility, lift tons of heavy dumbbells and barbells to increase my Strength, and lastly, I studied hard to increase my Intelligence even a little. All those hardships are… for this day…'

He breathed in… then out. Then he spoke.

"Synch Start!"

Blinnngg~

After mentioning the word in the box, a blending sound could be heard along with a swirling animation. Then, in his vision, a synchronization process appeared.

[Please wait while the synchronization process is ongoing…]

[Vital: 1%… 50%…]

[Mental: 1%… 50%…]

[Psyche: 1%… 50%…]

[Heart Rate: 1%… 50%…]

[Temperature: 1%… 50%…]

While waiting for the process to complete, he could feel a slight vibration from the Calibrator Chair.

After a while, all the synchronization processes ended when they reached one hundred percent.

This was followed by first time patches. It takes approximately 5 minutes to complete all patches. Fortunately, the Advance Neuralink Device has a built-in super internet connection.

After completing all the patches, he was brought into [Account Sign-Up] mode.

After creating a new account, he was next taken to [Character Creation] mode.

He saw three faceless avatars. They were the available options for him to choose from. Each one's stature and weight were somewhat similar to him.

[Avatar 1: Height (5' 10") Weight (154 lbs)]

[Avatar 2: Height (5' 9") Weight (145 lbs)]

[Avatar 3: Height (5' 7") Weight (136 lbs)]

Ranz was a bit surprised by what he saw. Although he expected this to happen from the information he researched, it was still surprising that this device was truly able to estimate your height and weight.

'This device appears to be analyzing the user's body. Their size and height are not too far from my real height and weight based on the written information of each that could be seen next to them.'

"Avatar 2!"

Ranz chose the one that was 5 ft and 9 inches tall. Of the three, this was the closest to his height of 5 ft and 8 inches. Its body structure was also closer to his lean body. Although Ranz's muscles were growing a bit after going to the gym, his body structure was still looking lean, especially when he put on clothes.

After he chose an avatar, the race followed.

[Human]

[Beastkin]

[Demon]

As far as he knows, each race has different pros and cons. Example there is the Elf. Elves have higher hearing perception, so at the very beginning of the game, they already had additional hearing perk.

Elves are also known for their agility and they are also a nature-loving clan, so there is additional points on their mana and their speed increased when they enter a forest. However, their con is that they have lesser defense than the other races.

Next up is the Dwarf. Dwarves are known for their creativity. So they have additional points in production, specifically in blacksmithing and building. They also have additional on Ailment Resistance. But there con is that their Speed is low.

Only normal humans have no pluses and minuses. In short, just flat normal. This is also the pros and cons of human— being normal and having no perks.

The elven and dwarven races both belong to the Human Faction. Like the Human faction, the races from the two remaining factions has different positive and negative characteristics as well.

Mostly, those in the Demon Faction have great night vision. Beastkins also have unique attributes, especially in basic attributes such as Strength, Vitality, Agility, etcetera. However, they seem to be low on Intelligence.

Ranz couldn't decide right away because he had to think carefully about which of them he would choose.

This was one of the hardest parts of the game. To choose a unique race.

'As far as I know, each device is good for one account only. So my decision here is very vital.'

'Hmm… which of these should I choose?' Ranz thought hard.

'Demon Faction looks great, especially the Imp race with additional percentage in loot.'

'Those in the Beastkin Faction are also good, especially the Wolfmen Clan with additional Strength and additional Smell perception. These stats are definitely a big help in combat.'

However, he cannot rush to choose because his future depends on it.

After about three minutes of thinking, Ranz was finally able to make a decision.

'Why should I torture myself into thinking hard. All I have to think about is how to make big money in this game. And of all the races that can be chosen, the race that I think can help me earn a lot of money is none other than… '

…..

….

..

.

"Dwarf, I choose you!"

Unexpectedly, after he chose to be a Dwarf, he was taken to a special character avatar selection panel.

He seemed to have been given the opportunity to choose which of the two types of dwarves he wanted to be. A young dwarf and an adult dwarf.

The young dwarf looked like a 7-year-old child. No beard and just looks like a normal kid. The adult dwarf has a beard. Fortunately, because it was basing his body, his stomach was not plump.

"So why did they ask me to choose an avatar earlier?!!" Ranz really wanted to ask the game admins.

But wait…

He noticed that there was something wrong with this special selection.

"Hmm… I remembered one of the streamers mentioned this special selection. To my knowledge, he said the character he chose was an elf. After he chose that, he was also taken to the special selection like this. He was also given two options. In his case, it was a normal elf or dark elf. However…"

Ranz stopped speaking and looked at the lower part of the child avatar.

'I know it!' He exclaimed in mind.

'This child avatar is a Special Avatar worth 10 Royal Coins!'

'To make matters worse, 1 Royal Coin is equivalent to 5 dollars. Yes, the exchange rate of paid coins against the dollar is so painful.'

'It's just a one-time offer and only right here in character creation mode can it be purchased at this price. Because it's 90% off now, its real value within the game will reach 100 royal coins or a whopping 500 dollars in real life!'

"…"

'This is the root of all negative reviews of this game. To wealthy players, it doesn't matter. But for those like me, it's a pain in the pocket!'

"So… skip for now, no money."

'Although yesterday I bought a voucher with 25 royal coins in it, I will not use it just for making my avatar look wonderful. This can wait when I'm rich enough.'

"On second thought..."

"There are perks if I buy the child version. But... Well, never mind, I will buy it later when I have enough money."

He just quickly made the face of his character. He only changed a few things.

The long red hair was tied at the back of his head, resembling a tail. His almond eyes had blue pupils. He made a little modification to his mouth and nose. But so little that it didn't matter. The shape of his face was already based on his, so no need to modify it.

After that, he was next taken to the hardest part.

[Enter your name] (no special character, symbol, number) (Limited to 16 letters only) (Voice only)

He immediately put in his favorite name.

"Capital F."

"Small letter r."

"Small letter i."

One by one Ranz mentioned the spelling of his desired name. Until he formed FriedChicken.

However, when he spoke the word [Submit], the prompt said,

[Name already existed.]

"What!"

He didn't expect anyone to use it. He thinks, whoever uses this name now, is probably also a former player of his previous game. Well, he also doesn't want to be an assuming person.

Now he wondered what name he was going to use.

[French Fries]

[Name already existed.]

He didn't think that such names would come up popular in this kind of game.

Unbelievable!

'Well, if you think about it, since I thought of these names, it's not impossible for other people to think of them as well, no?'

He sighed inwardly.

'Maybe I will use a more normal name this time,' he whispered to himself.

[Jack]

However,

[Name already existed.]

"Again?"

[John]

[Name already existed.]

"W-well… if you think about it, since they were able to think of those uncommon names, how can they not think of a common name such as Jack and John? I'm pretty sure there are hundreds of players in this game with that name. "

[Zero]

[Name already existed.]

"….."

'This is getting exhausting. This is truly the hardest part of all! Hmm… Uh hmmm… Wait. Let me try this…'

[Jack No Ripper]

[Name saved!]

"What the! Wait! Just kidding!"
