CHAPTER 22 : LIFELESS

James and Johnathan walked out of the boy's house . It was the first thing they had did today morning .

" He definitely knows more than what he is telling us. " James spoke as he turned back once again to see the boy still staring at them from his house . He noticed how the boy chewed on his lower lip , his eyes trained onto the two officers , fear gnawing in his eyes .

Johnathan hummed .

" For now we will go back with this . We will pick him soon . "

" Were you able to stick it ? " Johnathan asked the shorter man .

James grinned .

" I did . Now anyone he calls , we will tap in . "

" What now ? " Asked Johnathan.

" Now we wait . " James spoke as he got into the vehicle .

Anika massaged her temple as she sighed . Her anger was beyond mere words.

It had been three days since the fire had been put out . Luckily only the file room was affected . All other rooms were safe .

Thankfully only a few files were destroyed but their system copies were safe , but toughening for her , the mole had not only stole the original but had also stole the copies of the case while removing the information on the case from the system and now the staffs were not able to retrieve it.

" What are you going to do ? " Syl asked as she dragged the chair near to Anika's .

" Make a new one. What else ? " She replied , closing her eyes .

" I will start working on it , today . Dont get yourself worked up . " Syl spoke as she patted Anika's shoulder.

Removing the cap , Ava paid respect to the lifeless body lying in front of her .

It wasn't long before she and her team mates had talked about the fact that there were no females caught dead in this case.

Here she was standing now standing in front of another officer murdered brutally . Her body was filled with claw marks . She had bled to death . Her right arm was torn apart from her body .

" We will have to joint forces along with the Asterin group as soon as possible . " Thomas , her colleage spoke as he walked upto her .

" We will set up a meeting here with them as soon as possible . I don't think they will allow any new officers to be there now they have identified that they have a mole . " Ava spoke as she turned towards the officer .

" Besides the fact that someone started a fire there . There's no chance they would allow the meeting to be held there . We will talk about this after we get back . "

One last look at the lifeless body , Ava turned around . Fear instilled in her for her friend.

" How good did we do this time ? " Byron as ked as he stared at his leader .

" Better . Much better . Leaving the body in the open . Let them drink this up . " The man spoke as he smiled , taking a glass of whisky for himself .

Sipping the drink , he took in the burn that followed .

" The whole place is surrounded by them . They are terrified of us . " Byron spoke out .

" They should be . " The man chuckled , standing up from his chair , the sound of his shoes tapping the floor filling the room as he walked out .
