Prologue
Angela was a most famous singer in her country, The Kingdom of Chenny. She was a very pretty lady with a beautiful voice. Everybody loves her. Everybody in her country loves her. She liked to sing for everybody for free, despite her life was not an easy one. On top of that, she loved charity very much. Once a week, she would hold a charity event to help people in needs. Her kindness made the citizens loved her more and more.
Not only the commoners, even The King of Chenny and other royal family loved her and wanted her to be the royal singer. One day, she was invited to the palace by the King and the Queen of Chenny. The Royal Family threw a big party to welcome her. It was clear to everyone that every single person in the Chenny Kingdom was loved her.
Angela lives a luxurious life and she was happily enjoy her life in Royal palace. On top of that, she was still a very kind lady that loved to donate her wealth to the one in needs. Such a kind lady that every body treated her like a saint.
'Angela is an angel!'
'She is a goddess of Chenny!'
'Everything about her is beautiful!'
People said something like that about her. She was like a very important lady in her country just as other royal family. Honestly, maybe she was treated like a kind of national treasure.
The King even granted her a title for herself although she was born as a lowly commoner. She was now called Baroness Angela Miller.
The Royal singer with a beautiful face, a beautiful voice, and a beautiful heart. A little bit too much combination in one person. Let alone she was now a noble.
Unmarried men wanted her as a wife. Married man secretly intended to make her a mistress. Unmarried ladies wanted to be friends with her, though they mixed this good feeling with envious. Older women who had a son would want to make her a daughter in law.
Even the crown prince of Chenny Kingdom had an eye on her. He wanted to asked her hand in marriage. However, that time, her lowly born status made the King of Chenny opposed this idea. They need a noble born lady of a powerful family to prevent the rebellion, for the sake of the stability of the Chenny Kingdom.
Until one day, there was a war between The Chenny Kingdom and the neighborhood kingdom, The Kingdom of Alkana. No body knew why this situation suddenly happened. The most common speculation was because the new King of the Kingdom of Alkana—the Black Demon—was the real demon.
At the end, the Kingdom of Chenny surrendered to the Kingdom of Alkana and every royal member was being killed or forced to commit suicide. Something as expected from The King of Alkana. The wickedest king of the western continent.
How about the singer, Baroness Angela Miller? She was finally taken a hostage to be brought to the kingdom of Alkana and became a lowly slave. What a roller coaster life. Her life was suddenly change and hit the rock bottom.
One by one, when the slave become unuseful for the kingdom there will be punished or be killed.
Now was Angela's turn. It turned out her punishment was very harsh till she couldn't take it anymore.
Then she begged to the King to set her free. In return she will sing a song everyday.
The king refused to grant her wish. He didn't even a fan of arts, let alone the artists. Angela was very sad. Then she sang a sad song for herself, so she could take the punishment and die peacefully.
A miracle happened. The King was mesmerized by her beautiful voice. There's something magical within her voice that could heal the King's lifetime headache. In this case, would the King let her live and set her free from all harsh punishment?
