She was incredibly tempted to cry but couldn't do that now. Not when Bryce was looking at her with an expectant smile on his face and she would have to explain that she was crying because he simultaneously did the best and worst thing possible for her today.

His actions always threw her for a loop. She honestly didn't know how to respond with words but, as if by instinct, her body responded instead. She threw her arms around him and kissed him on the lips, unable to stop herself.
