1 Something's Wrong Today

I opened my eyes in the darkest hour, around 2am.

[Huh.....why am I in my bedroom....was i really...sleeping....wasn't I driving my car back home...then....a cat...was there....]

"huh....I don't remember anything later.....Maybe...I am just.....just tired...yep."

[What I need is a good night's sleep...i have work tomorrow.]

[This is so not....like me. And why is it that...my body feels...feels a little different]

"Noe, get up i will be there in 15mint."

"We will get late today, stop dreaming to your ideal girls in dream's and get ready, i am hanging up."

"Hey steph...*sigh* late for what"

[What's wrong with him saying crazy stuff in the morning...we could just skip the morning classes...]

"SHIT....there is a test today...i gotta hurry"

I dragged myself to the bathroom, brushing my teeth, and in the mirror I saw my reflection. Dark circle under my greenish eye caused by the late night study yesterday, my straight blonde hair still had some bed hairs. I took a shower, and wore my black jeans with a green hoodie over white t-shirt. I packed my bag, had a bite of a sandwich which my mom made before going to her clinic, Dad must have taken my little sister Anna to her school. I stood at the main gate chewing the sandwich when someone came riding a bicycle.

"Steph...here"

Stefan, my friend, had dark black eyes and wavy black hair which floated in the air. He wore a brown hoodie over black shirt with black jeans.

I sat behind him and I noticed the difference right away.

"Steph, what going on...you look a little more...muscular and you are riding faster than before....so"

"I don't know what happened but I know what you mean by that, noe"

"What...do you mean..you don't know....aren't you working out secretly"

"Well i want to but i am kinda lazy, you know that"

"Well....so what happened than"

"I don't know....I just....you know.....I feel like I have this strength.....and my body was better in the morning...like...it's like an awakening sorta-"

"STOP...don't go talking your otaku things here"

"Listen noe, it's true okay....even i am confused"

[He is serious.....I thought he was trying to joke while doing workout but]

"So...you really didn't know what's happening "

"I have no idea"

"So what....changes do you feel"

[There is no illness with symptoms of looking a little muscular, or is there. I better google it later]

"I feel....a little more strong....and mine....senses."

[Senses. Did a spider bite him...NO..what the hell]

" ummmm...did...by any chance...you got bitten by some spiders."

"No, Noe. I didn't get bitten by some spiders."

"Steph, so what are you feeling other than sense and strength"

"Eyesight and hearing"

"That's in the senses already. Idiot"

"No, when I say 'senses' it's....not like that....it's like.... I don't know"

"Okay... I think we better stop at my mom's clinic when we go back"

*sigh*"...yeah."

[He will get better. I hope so!]

"The shoot's finally over, I will get going now"

I said thanks to everyone, then sat in my car and left the studio. Today was a really weird day.

[Somehow...I feel different and I could.....hear people talking about the shoot even when I was in the dressing room like.....they were present in the same room. And my other.....sense were so...really good....no, way better than ever it had. And it was so...creepy....all of it...]

"I even felt weird last night...*sigh* should I get an appointment for a checkup?"

[Maybe I will do that]

[ It's from auntie...maybe she got free time, after my parents passed away she is all what's left as a family, she is still single taking care of me...I tried to find a suitors for her but she reject all of them...not like I am gonna give up on that.]

"Hey ann, got free from the lectures"

<Hey jennie, yeah I just ended the class. I was thinking about having lunch together, are you free.>

"I will pick you up in 30 minutes"

<Okay, I will be waiting in the staff room, when you get near the school, call me and I will come, I don't want people to start crowding, knowing that you are here.>

"I am not that popular, well I will call you when I am outside of the school, bye>

[We should go to the family restaurants which opened recently in the junction....and I will talk to her about finding her a suitor too.]

"*yawn*We are done with the test now....what was that....in the morning, steph"

"Listen noe, I am not joking but.....when i woke up....I felt really different....than from the morning it's been.....crazy"

"You sure... you didn't get bitten by spider....or anything"

"Not even a street dog, and I tried to shoot.....webs and walk on roof....not spider okay"

[Knowing him...he really must've tried...]

"So.....did you let the squirrel live...and got yourself....human blood, mr.salvatore."

[.....it was a joke.....why is he looking more serious now.]

"Actually noe, I was...in the middle of the road yesterday night.....I was there standing still....but then my body was feeling a lot...tried.....and different....I got home and slept"

"Have you seen any.....dead bodies near you?"

"NO!"

"Good. Where...exactly where you?"

"Under the....flyover."

[Flyover....he is not talking about the flyover which is 7 km far from his home, or is he. Wait.....does he sleepwalk at night...does sleepwalking 7 km everyday makes you....muscular...never heard stuff like that]

"Why is she going there?"

[She....who? Ohhh that's the physics teacher Emma Brown's , right? Why did he ask.....does he have a crush on her? With her wavy red hair with those hazel eyes and a perfect long legs, curvy figure. She is single too, one of the queens' of campus.]

"Why are you asking? Got any crush on Miss Emma?"

"No, not now at least but.... I don't like where she is going.....let's follow her."

"Wait! Why?"

"Because I think the back alley, is not safe"

"And why is that"

"Weird sense, I don't want her...to be there alone."

We followed Miss Emma out of the university. I was shocked when she really went through the back alley like he said. We stood behind a wall watching Miss Emma waiting while talking on her mobile.

"Steph.....what do you think, who is she talki-"

"Noe, you get out of here."

"What? You dragged me here, now you wana-"

"Listen! I thought something was passing by but....that is coming, it's coming here. And it's too strong."

"Dude, i don't understa-"

"Shhhhh! It's here, you are late to run back now. So keep your mouth shut."

[Steph's acting weird again. I should better be careful, he is not joking now. But what might show up. Except ghosts are there anything we should be, Whatever.]

"That's a car. Yeah it's powerful to kill a person when it hits them. Well, too bad for you, maybe Miss Emma got a boyfriend"

"I don't care about that, I want to know what's inside that car"

"Maybe her boyfriend, who you don't care about, came running to stalk Miss Emma .....huh...Oh My God. Thank you for letting me live to this day. I had never thought I could see 'JENNIFER' in the flesh in front of my eyes like this. I am so happy I could die now. Man, I am going crazy. Hey steph...steph"

"Eah ...ummm...what. Noe!"

"Even your heart skipped a beat for Jennifer right?"

"No....ummmm..i mean.....she is pretty....but.....who is she?"

"WHAT!! you don't know what you expect from an otaku huh.....*sigh* well she is 19, one year older than us, she used to be our senior in this university, actually....ummmm....she is, .... but, she is too busy to attend university and if she did, everyone will go crazy. She was an athlete , gold winner, did some add's sports related...demand for her increased, started modeling, now she does supporting roles, music albums, everything. She's just.....a goddess.....out of our reach. But what was she doing with Miss Emma?"

While I was telling him about her they took off really quick. I wanted to see her again, maybe if I am lucky I will get a chance to give a handshake or a 'Hi' or a picture, anything.

"You said yourself, she did not attend university so maybe....taking notes or campus stuff, you need a teacher for that right. And i think she.....heard us"

"No way! she couldn't hear us from inside the car, but how did you know she was coming?"

"I told you...weird sense...I feel like she put a lot of..... pressure or weight to the ground....i don't know"

"Are you saying she is.....obsess"

"NO NOE! Never mind let's go home already"

"What about the classes"

"Not talking."

"Okay! Do you think you can...feel her again."

"That's a 200% yes, I can still feel her going towards the junction."

"You mean...you really can....tell when she is around"

"And if you do not, I will end up stalking Miss Emma, I mean, they will come in contact again, right?"

[....he ignored me. But how can he tell, he said something like.....putting weight on ground.....how. Maybe he finally awakened as a chunibyo and he stalked Miss Emma because he got a crush on her and a coincident appearance of Jennifer, and he did all this to stand out. He did well, he stood out.]

While I thought this all, without knowing I started laughing.

"Why are you laughing, noe?"

"Just happy"

"I got to see Jennifer, what do you think about her?"

" She is strong, maybe...strongest of all the people I have seen."

[ Yep, he is.....chunibyo. Well, he will entertain, so it's fine.]

We both went to my mom's clinic. She gave Stefan fatigue relief medicine and sleeping pills too and he dropped me off at my home.With the test and things happening to steph, it was a bad day but, seeing Jennifer in front like that, what a great day. My thoughts were contradicting each other's so I finally decided.
