Ender

Dark clouds hung over the field of soldiers and witches. The weather had turned so quickly Ender wasn't sure if it was all the magic permeating the air causing such a disturbance. He could feel it, a tingling sensation on his sensitive skin, more pronounced than he had ever felt in the past, which came as no surprise. The sheer amount of witches spanning both sides were undoubtedly at the ready.

Ender looked to Caroline and Lucian's stricken faces, who rode alongside him, willing them both to calm. It was to no avail. He could hear Caroline's heartbeat thumping rapidly against her ribcage at the sight before them. He had expected for them to be followed after their hasty departure from the White Palace. Likely the Ibudali forces had taken a few days to regroup and plan a proper attack. It's what he would have done.
