It almost felt like floating, Caroline thought, as she pulled more onya into herself than she thought possible. Maybe the sensation was more akin to swimming underwater, only if the ocean were less dense and warmer.

Caroline now knew it was the baby allowing her to channel so much magical power. Never before had she been able to wield the power now coursing through her body. It was almost intoxicating. And dangerous. Still, she pulled in more as much as her tiny frame would allow and far more than she had ever tried holding. She would not die this day, nor allow any harm to come to her husband or friends.

If that meant channeling dangerous amounts of onya, then so be it.
