4 Chapter 4

After a little while longer of staring at my image, I ascend to the sky and head towards the shore of the river to drink some water and dry off.

While I was drinking water, I saw a humongous silhouette moving about in the water and it was coming closer and closer to me at fast speeds. I instantly took my head out of the water and took a couple of steps back, and not even a second later a dark green-scaled arm hit where I previously stood.

'What the fuck is that thing? It can't be a sea monster this is a river..' I thought to myself while staring at the arm that attacked me. Then another flew out of the water on the opposite side of the other arm.

A large lizard with dark green menacing eyes came out of the water, the lizard looked like an alligator but just abnormally large. it stared at me like a predator looking at its prey.

I tried to escape from the situation but was struck before I even knew what happened. My body was launched like a cannonball hitting a tree, "AGH!" Tiny droplets of blood spilled out of my mouth as my body slipped down the tree to the ground.

'H-How...?' I couldn't help my think. I slowly looked up and saw the stretched-out arm of the alligator, and on its face, I could've sworn I saw a faint smirk. The damn lizard crawled out of the water, revealing its 30 meters long body, there were scars all over its spiky back.

"Grrr," it growled, its gaze never leaving my body. I slowly stood up from the ground, my legs wobbling. It didn't even give me a chance to stabilize myself before it attacked me again, but this time I was prepared.

Before its arm could reach me, I took to the skies flying out of its range and away. It would be suicidal to fight something that looks like it has been through many battles and has the experience. I don't even have any attack skills at the moment. As I flew away I could hear its anger roar in the distance.

I flew far, far away from the river landing in a large opening in the forest. I slowly descended under the shade of a tree. As soon as my legs touched the ground, an unbearable amount of pain circuited throughout my whole body. The adrenaline rush stopped me from feeling the pain before it seems.

Multiple bones in my body are fractured, more specifically my tail bone. 'I wish I had a useful skill for these types of moments,' I thought to myself as I slowly lay down on the ground.

Suddenly a screen appeared in front of me with 2 skills and I gotta say they are extremely helpful for the situation I'm in. The first one would be good for right now while the second one is the most appealing.

-3rd pov-

Minato and his team got back to the village and headed straight to the Hokage tower. They entered the Hokage office and were greeted by a man with spiky brown hair, a brown beard, and black eyes. The man also wore the official uniform of the Hokage, a customary hat, and haori with a red, full-length kimono that is tied using a white sash. He held a pipe in his right hand, smoking.

This man was none other then the current Hokage of Kohonagakure Sarutobi Hiruzen.

"Good afternoon Minato, for what do I owe the pleasure?" inquired Hiruzen while putting down his pipe.

"Good afternoon to you as well Hokage-sama, I have come to report a discovery me and my genin team made during our training," stated Minato while bowing.

"Oh, continue," said Hiruzen a little interested, Minato nodded before continuing.

"During our training, we suddenly heard a loud sorrowful roar that even changed the weather. We halted our training to investigate, we followed the voice and found a small black cat-sized lizard with bat-like wings and fish-like fins at the end of its tail," said Minato in one breath.

"We followed the strange creature in secret, it seemed like it was searching for something. The creature halted its endless search after 10 minutes of going around in circles before spreading its wings and attempting to fly. We observed the creature spend 30 minutes trying to stabilize itself in the air, even when it failed it got back up and tried again. When it finally stabilized itself it flew high into the air and out of our sight," he continued.

Hiruzen sat in silence the whole time listening and digesting Minato's report, "interesting, this is truly an incredible creature you have discovered. I'll send a team to make content with it on a later date," said Hiruzen.

After the report Minato and his team left the Hokage tower, heading towards their own individual homes. Minato rescheduled their training to tomorrow.

What they didn't know was someone else also got information about the strange creature from Minato's report. Two dark and evil individuals were also planning to capture the creature for sinister reasons.

The creature in question was at moment pondering on what skill to choose, not knowing some people were planning to capture it.
