I couldn’t help but think that it wasn’t exactly a sacred circle. I mean, we weren’t exactly out in an open field beneath the light of a full moon or anything, but I guess under the circumstances, Mathew’s bedroom would have to do.
Focus! A sharp voice sounded in my mind, and I wasn’t sure if it was my own, Merrin’s or someone else’s, but it was definitely familiar.
I did as the voice asked and began to think of everything I knew. I thought of how Celestria had given me seriously strange vibes since my arrival at the academy.
Merrin moved towards the red fire candle as soon as she’d lit the Wind candle, but I could already feel a fresh breeze whipping up around my face as I closed my eyes to concentrate harder.
“Fire, I ask that you come to us and burn away any block on our minds to allow me to see the truth!” Merrin’s voice grew louder and then I heard the click of the lighter once more.
