Finally, the long awaited day of the family meal—Friday—arrived.

Calix went to work as usual but, he informed Leslie that he would come home early. They planned to head to the Xu family's ancestral home at six.

Neither too early nor too late.

"Don't overwork yourself during the sessions. You should keep your energy for tonight's dinner. Who knows, there might be some drama happening. Or we can hear gossip."

Calix's reminder before he left for the company amused Leslie. She couldn't help but feel doubtful over his words.

'Drama? What kind?'

Aside from Old Madam Xu, Vernon and his family would join tonight's dinner. Evelyn couldn't come. She was currently abroad, attending a launch party for a luxury jewelry brand as its global ambassador.

The Li family side was only made up of Rowan, Bianca and Irene. With no attendance of Old Madam Li, Geoffrey and his family, the likelihood of any drama happening was extremely low.
