Chapter 69 HAPPY FAMILY

KATRINA'S P O V

After pressing the doorbell of the gate leading to Parker's mansion, I looked down at the paper bag I was holding while I waited for someone to open the gate. I have been here at Parker’s residence on multiple occasions and have seen Joe's Lego collection, so I decided to purchase him a new set. I was confident that he would enjoy it.

I heard footsteps coming from the other side of the gate, so I tore my gaze away from the toy, and plastered a smile on my face. The gate opened, revealing Amy.

‘‘Miss Katrina…’’ she greeted me with a warm grin and opened the gate a little wider. ‘‘Please come in. Joe is inside, waiting for you…’’

‘‘Thanks…’’ I stepped in, and as I made my way towards the front door, my eyes darted at the garage, and I felt a pang of disappointment when I didn’t see Travis’ car parked there.

I took a deep breath, and just as I was about to step inside the house, Joe emerged with his usual big smile, and greeted me with his arms wide open.
