Chapter 53 SAVE HIM

KATRINA’S P O V

Seeing Cohen collapse and lie on the ground with his head bleeding was the most horrific scene I’ve ever witnessed in my life. My heart stopped beating, I couldn’t breathe, and the air ripped out of my lungs.

My hands were shaking as I touched Cohen’s arm, staring at his lifeless figure.

The man inside the ambulance looked at me with sympathy in his eyes. ‘‘Don’t worry, Ma’am. The doctor will do his best to save him…’’

‘‘Please… save him…’’ I whispered brokenly, my tears streaming down my face, hard and unforgiving.

……...…..*********……....….

I hobbled along while gripping the trolley as we transferred Cohen to the emergency room. My eyes fell on his face, and he was so pale. Once the medics brought him into the room, the doctor was there to greet me at the door.

I was taking shallow and rapid breaths, and I was panting.
