Close to insanity

'So how will they pass my first test?'' The king said. The window showed him every step they had made.

Adrian was having dinner with his mother.

'Mom is that you.' Adrian said as he was about to cry

'Adrian are you ok.'

Adrian rushed to his mother and hugged her. He then began crying.

'Don't cry dear I am here.' Reina said as she brushed his hair.

War was with two people but their image was blurry. They seemed to be her parents.

'War my girl you have really grown.' her father said enthusiastically.

'You has become a fine woman.' her mother commented

War blushed

Zuri was sparring with Xing. They smilled as they exchanged blows. Zuri punched the old man in the gut.

'Zuri you became stronger but don't get ahead of yourself.'

'Let us see who is going to win.'

Both of them released a very powerful aura that resembled the sea.

'Face your past and fear.' the king's voice echoed inside Adrian's head.

The scenery changed for Adrian. He was back to where he was stabbed. The guy with white hair and bloody eyes(Trevor) stabbed Adrian in the heart again. This time he felt pain.

'Why am I getting stabbed again and why do I feel the pain.' Adrian said as he coughed blood.

Trevor pulled his sword from Adrian's chest and ran, Adrian fell and died. The scene recurred many times and every time Adrian tries to move or block the sword an invisible force prevents him from doing so.

War was still chatting with her parents when she heard the king's voice:

'Face your past and fear.'

Angel entered War's house. She looked at War's parents and smilled.

'The king of shadows has ordered me to get rid of you two. You are a threat to our mission.'

In an instant Angel cut War's parents heads

'Huh.' War was shocked.

'Mom, Dad please don't die. Please don't leave me alone again.' War said as she was crying.

'Mission done.' Angel said in a satisfied tone

The scene recurred again and again. Everytime War tries to save her parents an invisible force prevents her from moving.

'Face your past and fear.' The king's voice echoed in Zuri's head.

The man who killed Xing appeared in front of them. Still his image was blurry.

Before Xing could do anything the man stabbed him in the heart.

This moment was the turning point of Zuri's life. He began to remember his forgotten past, his loved ones. His brain was flooded with information and the feeling of sadness that struck when Xing died completely destroyed his sense of self and his identity.

'Old man Xing, please don't die.' Zuri said as he began to cry. The scene recurred again and again. Every time Zuri tried to interfere an invisible for would stop him from doing so.

Adrian and Zuri were transported to the living room in Adrian's house. Death stabbed Reina in the heart, she continued to stab Reina in the head. The scene recurred again and again.

'That d*mned king of shadows?.' Adrian said angrily. He felt something beyond hate and anger, something that can't be described.

'Who is this lady and why does it feels so heartbreaking seeing her getting stabbed times and times again.' Zuri said as he was crying.

The three heroes were filled with despair.
