INVITATION

"Ah!, Well...I was...", 'What-what should I say now? Ah! that shapeshifter stuff, well it'll be easy to deal with them if they think of me as a SHAPESHIFTER, fortunately, they haven't seen one, but they do have some knowledge and I don't know anything about them.'

Seeing the tension on Kurt's face, the guy said ;

"It's alright if you don't wanna tell us. We were just curious seeing someone still alive on this planet other than us."

"Well...ya, it's just that, I have my secrets."

Kurt said with a smile.

'Can't tell them about the system and rebirth stuff, now can I?'

Suddenly the guy coughed a mouth full of blood, his breathing has weakened. Lady pats his back but after coughing continuously for a few minutes, he falls on the ground and loses consciousness. The 3 little children who were peeking through the inside of the cave, came out running straight towards him.

"Sister, brother are you alright?"

"Brother, are you hurt?"

"Brother, what happened? all of them showed their concern towards their brother who was drenched with blood, which now has lost its luminance and had turned red.

"Yes, brother is all good!. Brother is just tired from playing. Let him rest, okay?"The lady said to them.

But the truth was that the guy was in a critical state. Just by taking a single hit from Kurt, his insides were completely smashed and messed up. On top of that, loss of blood and broken bones made it extremely hard and risky to move him even an inch. Recovery was far from possible, it would be a miracle if he survived for more than one or two hours.

Lady also somewhat realized that and her eyes started dripping tears. She hid her crying face with her hands so that the children don't realize that something was wrong.

Kurt realized the dire situation with just a single glance. He felt somewhat guilty. He was thinking if he could save the guy.

[Rescanning the body....]

[70% of the organ system is critically damaged.....

The body is malnutritioned...

Chances of natural survival- 0%.....]

'So? is it not possible to save him?'

Kurt thought for some time about the options to choose. He can make a medical facility that can help in future projects and is permanent without any need for any future upgrades.

But the Price and recovery time is more than that of INSTANT RECOVERY. And he also has a total of 50 million and fifty thousand C.P left, so a price of 25,000 C.P was nothing for him. He can make the facility later if he needs to. But then an idea came to his mind...

The Lady was still crying, as Kurt came closer to her and placed his hand over her. She was startled by the sudden touch of kurt.

"Hey-Hey!, you don't have to be so wary of me. I was just trying to see how's he doing?. It seems, he took quite a lot of damage from my hit. Discerning his present state, I don't think he'll be able to live past two or three hours." Kurt said with a stern face.

"I-I know, I can see that. (Sobs)There are no medical supplies left, we exhausted them years ago. Wh-what am I supposed to do now?" the lady whimpered and started crying harder.

"Well, do you need any help?", Kurt asked with a tinge of pretension on his face. The next moment she heard him say that she stopped crying.

"Can...Can you help us?", she asked.

"Maybe...I CAN, I have an offer for you. Would you like to hear it?", he replied the instant she finished, as if he was waiting for her to ask that.

"I will do anything, anything!. Just...just save him, please! hurry!", just as the lady finished pleading, Kurt smiled with a 'kind of sinister' aura.

Lady was once again terrified seeing the malicious expression on Kurt's face.

"What..what do you want to do?" she said while taking a step back.

"Oh!, it isn't like what you think it is, I just want to help you. You see... I have established a settlement, and I need people who can work for me. (And I also need people to talk with, tho I have Eva but it's not bad ideA having more people around you, right?. And I get the feeling that soon I would need more people.) So I would like to invite you all to my territory.

I will help your brother and in exchange for my help, you'll have to work for me. There will not be any labor work, just some office or supervision kinda stuff. I won't force you to work all day, you will get free time and some casual holidays. Of course, I will not make the children work(till they are of age) and I'll also provide you with clean water, food, and a place to live in."

Kurt looked at her face. She was staring at him with a simple expression. Seeing her taking no interest in his proposal, Kurt got confused.

'What is this? shouldn't she be thanking me by now, was my thinking wrong? but it certainly is a great offer...., Then what is the problem?'

"So? how is it? Will you accept my offer? Or is there anything you want to ask me about? EXCEPT!-How I survived?...."

"Will....will you really won't ask anything else of us to do?" she said while hiding her face. Kurt couldn't exactly get her, and simply answered;

"Of course not!"

"Alright."The lady spoke softly.

"What?", kurt came nigher to her face...

"I said, we accept, we'll do it! Now please save him!." she shouted.

"Hey!, There's no need to scream in my ears.

Now that the deal is on, we should head back to my territory..... you go ahead with children and I'll carry him, meet me at the cave entrance."

Kurt walks towards the lifeless guy and picks him up with ease, onto his shoulders.

"Hey!, what are you doing!?, you'll make him worse, be more gentle!!" The lady yelled when she saw Kurt picking the body without paying any mind to the injuries.

"Wo!, lady firstly, I'm helping you out here. Secondly, I told you he'll be alright for an hour or two and me picking him up like this will not cause him any pain as I have injected some analgesic drugs into his body."

(Well I haven't but technically he won't feel pain 'cause he's unconscious.)

"But when did you.....", she mumbles.

"(Sigh...)Now can we start walking?"Kurt quickly interrupted her thinking process.

"Hey! but how can we go out in the sunlight?....Wait for a sec, there's something wrong with you. HOW THE HECK! did YOU! reached the CAVE! through that BURNING DAYLIGHT!? WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU!!?", Lady asked with a loud angry, and irritated tone.

Actually, She was really annoyed right now, this man who they just met today was the first alive person they ever saw after those difficult 4 years. But he was super mysterious and nothing made sense about him, like how powerful he was, how he changed shape so quickly, he had a territory of his own, he came through daylight without any signs of burns or even a scratch. His body was healthy and his clothes were also anew, It felt like this guy never actually lived on this lifeless and harsh planet. This guy could be anything but surely not an ordinary shapeshifter.

"Haha, Wh-What do you mean? I'm a Shapeshifter.",

'Now what? is there something about me that doesn't matches as a shapeshifter?'

"And that Sunlight.....(Oh that radiation screening enclosure which encompasses the whole planet! well its quite high, you won't be able to see it so no need to know about that)..well I don't know....it seems that it isn't that intense nowadays, maybe the atmosphere has settled down...hehe," Kurt said while laughing like an idiot.

"Hmmm.....", Lady was looking straight into his eyes, like she was able to tell what Kurt was concealing behind that pathetic smile of his.

"Shall-Shall we go now, we have to SAVE your friend here...you remember right?" Kurt quickly diverted her suspicion to the man's rescue, and the lady was back to her normal self.

"Yeah!, if the environment outside is really like what you told me then we'll be able to feel the starlight on our body for the first time in 4 YEARS!." She smiled and said while squeezing children's hands which showed her enthusiasm. Kurt also smiled back, and this time it was a genuine one.

"Now then, we should hurry!", and they start rushing through the cave.

As they came closer to the entrance, everybody is blinded by the bright light coming from outside...
