High Council

Sitting in the middle of the control room of the mother-ship, with Walesa beside me, I was enjoying the view of the deep space. Suddenly, the room started glowing yellow. Squinting my eyes, I just noticed our ship passing close by a star. Even though the distance between us was a hundred thousand of miles, I could feel the heat growing on my skin. The star blazed dangerously bright. In that instance, a dark shade covered the glass walls around the room, and the sense of heat went away promptly.

"We are here, Boss" Walesa standing beside me, pointed at the other corner of the room. A planet very closely resembling yet very dissimilar to earth came into view. Just like earth, it was Blue and green. But unlike earth, it had not only blue and green. It had black and red too. And obviously, there were an uncountable number of spacecraft drifting around the planet, some just orbiting the Giant. The four huge metallic pillars floating around the planet didn't go unnoticed. How can one not notice them, when each has the size almost as the planet itself? Quite peculiar I would say. I wonder what it's used for.

[ To open space rifts]

'To open space rifts…, even I don't have that…yet.'

Seeing me staring at the four pillars, Walesa answered "They say it can open portals in space. But even The Union doesn't know how to operate that. But it's said that it has something to do with the Royals. Nobody knows anything more than that."

"Nobody knows? Heh," I snickered at her remark. Because the data I have on Union says otherwise.

A secret known only by the high council and the main line of the royal family. The portal is overseen by Royal King Edgar. It's been opened on special occasions only, though there's nothing mentioned much about it in the classified data. I guess if you want to know more about it, you'll have to ask king Edgar himself.

"Boss, we are ready. We'll land in a minute." The instance she said that a sudden pull forced me down the chair. Confused I grabbed onto the sides of the chair. 'That scared me!'

"It's just gravity Boss." Walesa gave a bland expression, in which I sensed a hidden smirk. This bitch!

"You could've cautioned me!." No response, she had absolutely no emotions on her face right now. But demon blessed my eyes, for I could see the nastiest sneer I ever saw in my life. Damn you, Walesa!!

"I'm going to handle you after all of this is over, just you wait!" I told her, looking straight into her eyes. Her face looked ashen, maybe the soul left her body?

"But-but boss…w-what did I do-"

"Oh, shut up and look forward to your punishment. I'm going to love it, maybe you'll too" I grinned, looking ahead. I could feel her squirming, weird girl.

The ship descended, and alas my senses screamed something was going down today. The landing was smooth, and we could see a few soldiers....huh...not few, many.

"They are here to escort us," Walesa said, noticing my glare toward the soldiers.

My scans showed otherwise, there were around thousand of armed men around the perimeter of the ship. The sky turned red, seems the star of this planet was on the horizon.

"Sigh....why do they have to ruin this beautiful evening," I Stood up, stretching my arms. Walesa gave me a questioning gaze.

"Hmm, I think these guys won't learn their lesson the easy way," I said. With a wave of my hands, a radar-like screen projected itself up in the room, which showed the number of soldiers surrounding the ship. Everybody in the room gasped.

They grabbed the situation pretty quickly. But they were careless, they put their guard down, just because it was their own planet. When the situation compels, even a father can kill his own blood and family.

"EVERY PERSONNEL ON BOARD, EXIT THE SHIP IN ORDER!" Walesa announced. She was shaken, but still, she put up a calm and collected facade.

"I-I think they increased the security as a precaution, we should still see through what we came here for. Union wouldn't dishonor themselves." She said following everybody to the exit, reassuring me.

"Guess we'll know about that soon," I answered with a subtle smile, following behind.

To be honest, I don't think so. That thought came to my mind too, the honor and stuff, but my senses are not one to lie.

As Walesa passed through the exit, I halted and stood at the threshold of the ship. Looking ahead, I saw the group of soldiers standing in position. Crimson light fell all around us. The star should be an hour away from dusk. I again looked around, this time with holographic eyes.

Everything was clear, thousands of soldiers were ready to shoot, and everybody had their fingers on the trigger. What the fuck, thousands!? I'm not in Warfield or am I?

This is triggering.

[ Sending message…]

"Boss....We have to move." Walesa ahead of me said. I looked at her anxious face. Why is she anxious? She should be scared as fuck, of me obviously. I looked at the sky, flying machines, with arms aimed directly at my head. Everybody was standing in a military arrangement.

A guy with a white long coat moved, a few meters ahead of us. The aura he released was massive. I didn't have a direct appraisal skill which is usually depicted in novels. I asked Eva about this and she said it was simply impossible.

But you sure can measure power and a bit of information about the opposite party if you have an eye for it. My system can broadly classify the power level of an individual based on intrinsic scans. And my instincts told me he was the most powerful among all of us here, except me. My power level varies, according to my form. Right now, in human form, I should be around the power grade of a Level-5 entity. A grin formed which I hid with my hand.

"A thousand rabbits, few flying insects, and a fucking gorilla. Hahaha, Do they think they can stop me with their local zoo?" I said aloud to Walesa. But of course, everyone heard that. My heightened senses heard the fastening of the heartbeat of every single soul.

"W-We are here to escort you to the northern meeting halls." The man in the white coat said. His subtle beard, a white long scar across the face and bulging body screamed power. I was a little skeptical about their intentions, but I moved nonetheless. We were taken to an aircraft which flew off the moment we took our seats.

The flying machines were still locked onto us behind, all the way to our destination. In the ten minutes of the journey, I obviously couldn't examine all I saw below. So I deployed robots around to explore the planet. Hope they won't get caught here.

We stopped in front of a large building with an arc that connected two other towers behind it. It formed a triangle on top.

"This is the northern meeting hall, which's used by the High Council. It opens only once or twice in a hundred years or so." Walesa whispered near my ear.
