WILDBLOOD

"Seriously? This is what you have decided to go with? Alright, then." Lauren took two courageous steps near him, almost staring into his red eyes. "Kill me!" She challenged him in almost a whisper, which echoed in his ears. Elliott eyes grew dark, his pupils dilated, taking in the sight of the brave girl still standing staring at him. The scent of human blood wafted towards him, causing his fangs to protrude and his mouth to water. He could feel the thirst raging within him. "You aren't taking it seriously, are you?" He questioned, frustrated — like she had never seen him before. He looked down and shook his head harder, trying to get rid of the newfound desire to devour her. Lauren could feel anger burning inside her. "Why should I? When you are talking like some psychopath... Well, just so you know, if I'm in danger, you're in danger too. And what if I spill the beans about you being a vampire? Think about that." Lauren raised her eyebrows as she stared at him, amused at herself. 'I'm doing it great. I just need to stay away from him after this,' she thought. He stopped then, motionless for a moment. Seconds seemed to pass by as Elliott took his very own sweet time to answer her. The corner of his lips curved upward as he bend down towards her level, stared straight in her big charcoal eyes. "A lowly human like you, who can just threaten us with warnings like this, and then obviously will not expose something that will result in their own life." His words were sharp as knives. It was hard to know, if he was insulting her or warning her. Elliott chuckled, and his eyes, which turned just dark red, stared into hers, where his were much darker than hers. He noticed the fear, confusion, and ego that had been shaken now. Elliott cleared his throat. "I don't understand you," he told her suddenly, his black-magic voice so quiet that she had to strain to hear him. She narrowed her eyes at him, not trusting herself to speak, and she was still deciding the best course of action when he said "Aren't you afraid? The demon will come for you," he observed her reaction and noticed how she gasped in what looked like a slight emotion of fear. But she retracted her expression and showed her brave side, while he knew how her breathing were working. Chasing the wave of power

Lauren had come to know whom she needed to meet. Her steps were slow and because it was so cold she didn't know that this city would be this cold.

It appeared to be a collection of matching grey-colored buildings. She couldn't tell how big it was at first because there were so many trees and shrubs.

Her uncle had built it so brilliantly and beautifully. The journey from here seemed quite lengthy, and she could see buildings beginning to appear on her way. She had to go to the first block.

Lauren walked down a little stone path lined with dark hedges. She came to a stop in front of the first building. Which had a small sign over the door stating the 'D office' Why not simply write down the documented office? Lauren thought but then again what was she expecting?

There were no students in her view because it was the first building. Furthermore, the documented office was not open all the time for the students.

Lauren saw the rolled piles of paper and some ripped books and magazines from the library. She guessed the building held paperwork such as exams and other sectors.

It wouldn't be necessary if her cousin was here, but since there was no appearance of her she was forced to think about where she must be.

Lauren put her backpack on the floor near the office door. She moved and opened the door of the office. It created a cracking sound because it was made of glass, and it made a noise suggesting a visitor.

It was brightly lit inside and warmer than she had expected. The workplace was small; a small waiting area with padded folding chairs, brown-flecked commercial carpet, notes, and awards adorning the walls, possibly from matches or prizes, and a large clock ticking loudly due to the silence.

Plants sprang in enormous plastic pots throughout the place, as if there wasn't enough greenery outside. It appeared that her uncle or this lady had a remarkable affection for nature.

Lauren approached the counter and noticed three desks behind it, and a red-haired woman wearing eyeglasses. She was dressed in a black silk dress, which made her feel overdressed.

Lauren wondered whether she was at a funeral or anything because her clothing resembled one.

The redhead woman raised her head, "How may I assist you?"

"I'm Laurence Anna Warner," she introduced herself, and immediate awareness lit the red-headed eyes.

It was assumed that she had been informed that a new student would be arriving during the semester.

The fact that she didn't give a thought that the middle of the semester would get her sacked. Nonetheless, she had arrived now.

It wasn't possible to give admissions to anyone during the semester but in her case, it was totally different. She was also the niece of the Headmasters. Thus this was a huge opportunity for her — Take note of the sarcasm.

"Of course. I know you would come today. Welcome to Máville, Miss Warner," the attendant joyfully welcomed her.

"We're happy to have you here," she concluded, placing her hands together on a wide oak desk.

"I've got your schedule and a map of this institute right here," she brought many pages to the counter to exhibit roe.

Lauren closed her eyes while holding her hands together. "I'm sure I can do it." She mumbled, but the woman heard her and was obliged to look at Lauren's way.

"It's perfectly fine. Just take a moment to relax," she made the universal stop motion with her hand. "We're not in a rush."

Lauren just smiled awkwardly, especially since the panic attack she was trying to fend off was only making it harder to breathe.

Instead, she nodded and watched as she carried her files to put something on it, one at a time up to find a file of record maybe.

As soon as the lady turned away from her, Lauren's smile faded and was replaced with a concerned expression.

She looked away before it was already too much to see the date. Knowing that the person in front of you would be going to die today was already torture to the single soul. She saw the date on her forehead that reads 20/07/20.

Poor her, couldn't help the humans whose death date was already written. She couldn't have the ability to change anything. She couldn't have anything to say about it. Watching people near her going to die was so painful for her.

She never cherished this ability of her. She never wants to know who will be going to die or how much they have time in this world.

It didn't look like a gift to her; it was a punishment and cruelty.

She practiced, how to control this power of her. But sometimes, it just appeared without warning and it always made her sick from inside.

Lauren nodded her head, whispering a 'thank you' before turning around but the lady called out for her.

"If you don't mind, can I get your file too?" The lady asked as she had to arrange the records of each student.

Usually, they asked for student data online before admission but Lauren was late. Also her uncle didn't ask or inform her anything regarding this but she put it with her in case it would be needed.

"I'm sorry, I think it is in my bag. Let me check it." Lauren ran out before the lady could say it was fine and they were good without the files for now and data of students could be written after a few days.

Lauren came out of the office and opened her bag which she had placed outside of the office because it was heavy and there was no use for it inside.

Meanwhile, inside there was a black shadow coming inside the office from nowhere. The lady felt an eerie sensation near her but she didn't understand what it was.

When she looked up at the ceiling her eyes almost pooped out of the socket, and shock was written all over her face.

What she saw was unbelievable.

She couldn't believe what she was seeing a black shadow covering the whole office with a dirty charcoal smell.

The black shadow formed the shape of a fox and in the next second; it was very near her.

"WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST REGRET?" A voice rang in her mind and her eyes start turning black.

"To.... kill.... my... un..born..baby..."

She didn't want to admit but she knew there was no going back from the truth.

Before the lady was able to feel her voice in her throat anymore to shout for help. It came inside her mouth like a spirit.

Lauren sensed something eerily sinister near her the moment she held the papers. But didn't know what it was and neither did a woman in the office.

Holding a file, she entered the office, pushed the door, and entered to see the attendant resting her head on the table.

"Here are my papers, Miss–" Lauren didn't know how to refer to the lady so she simply placed the unpressed paper on the table. Where the lady had her head buried in the piles of papers.

Lauren noticed the lady's nails which were extra long. It looked as if she was a witch but when she stared at it for some more seconds.

She came to realise that it was growing in size and her fingers also turned in black colour which was indeed out of the human system. The lady didn't say anything to her but kept lying her head on the table as if she was sleeping.

"Miss–"

Suddenly, the lady snapped her head up and slowly two twice, and then two thrice of black horns started forming and appeared on the lady's head. Her black eyes turned red and black crimson. Her skin was pale but was turning black to red.

When Lauren glanced at the lady, a startled voice came out of her mouth. She stared at the things as if she had never seen anything like this in her life before which was true but what was going on? Lauren asked herself.

Small beads of sweat formed on her forehead and slowly began to tickle down her face.

She saw the most horrifying sight when she finally saw her face properly. It was deformed, bloody, and absolutely terrifying. She couldn't help but scream at the sight and even more when the lady's mouth which was located to the far side of her face opened wide!

"Aaaahhh!!!"

The lady was already possessed by the demon and Lauren had no idea what should she do.

The sight was horrible and when the demon started coming near her; Lauren rushed out of the office.

She heard the glass breaking sound behind her and that must be the office glass door that this demon had broken.

"Help!" Lauren shouted for help although there was no one in her way. She still hoped for someone to come and protect her from this monster.

"Someone help please!!!!!" Lauren ran towards the university. The path was long. She heard the demon groaning voice that was running behind her and almost chasing her. She didn't know what to do from here as she was just forced to run.

She didn't know her first day in the university would lead her to this.

"This is a very pleasant way to welcome someone," Lauren shouted in her angry and frightened voice.

It kept running after her and unfortunately for Lauren. Its speed was no match for the monstrous predator that trapped her to the ground with its strong hands.

The demon grasped her ankle and Lauren fell to the ground. Her jaw hit the ground harder and it hurt like hell.

She yapped and growled in pain and tried to kick the lady or one says the demon. She tried to free herself but its hold was tight and it also started hurting her bone.

Lauren screamed and crawled forward, kicking here and there in the hope to get free. But the demon held her other ankle too.

Now, Lauren felt she was indeed in an extremely big problem, which she should have considered before coming here.

"Leave me!! You bloody creature!" Lauren's lips quivered terribly. She continuously rocked back and forth as she muttered words of repentance. Openly begging God to not make her suffer any longer in Hell.
