Epilogue II

"Ugh! Fine!"

Devon giggled as she gazed at the phone screen when Dion hung up. He was so easy.

"Must you put him through all that?" she turned her head to Lewis, who was dragging the chair across from her, and sat down. "I could've asked someone else to buy what you want or buy it myself."

"How can I do that? My husband will surely flaunt his wealth by buying an entire shop." Her nose scrunched up, casting her husband a judgmental look.

"Is there something wrong with that?" Lewis raised a brow as he propped his knuckles against his jaw. "I work hard to give my wife and the baby in her womb a good life. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't buy something that I can afford."

She sighed, sliding her hand over the table to hold his hand. "My love, I know you're good at finding excuses for your actions. But not because I craved for something, doesn't necessarily mean I need to own an establishment. I'm a writer and I need to focus on writing."
