Chapter 2: Death

I wake up the next day to screaming and shouting. I get up and then I notice Linkin asleep on my couch where I sit down to watch the sunset thru the window. I walk over to him and I tap his shoulder. He jumps up and smiles and whispers "I'm sorry you Highness " and I almost melt his voice sounds amazing but I focus on figuring out where the screaming is coming from. I go to open my door but it slams open and a man with an outfit like a bandit stands there with a knife drawn out. Linkin blocks the bandit and draws his sword out. He stabs the bandit in the heart and the bandit falls down to the ground. Linkin grabs my hand and we run downstairs and out the main door outside. There are monsters fighting and the knights are killing then but to no avail. Linkin grabs my hand and we run to thr horses in the arena stable. Linkin grabs Mystic and he picks me up puts me on the back of the horse. He checks our surroundings before getting on behind me. The heat between our bodies makes me turn a bright red.

Linkin speaks thr first words since runn from the castle "I'm sorry it had to be like this your father told me I mean the king told me that I needed to take you away from here if there ever was an attack and today was the day" he says

"You smell like cinnamon"I mentally yell at myself for saying it out loud

"Oh really, I didn't know I did but thanks" he smiles and I feel his chest hitch and an intake of pain. I hold onto thr horses hair tight as we make it to Maliko Village a village I used to play with the girls here.

We get off of the horse and Linkin puts the horse away in the small stables. He helps me down from the saddle and I grab his arms for support. He stares down at me for a second and then a voice startles us both. Lady Amika smiles at us from the stairs to a big building.

She smiles "Come on you two and Mr Winters your her knight not her man of honor and not her husband, come on i have something to discuss" she says and we walk up and enter the old building with ancient texts on the wood. She pulls me away from Linkin but he sticks by my side. A boy comes out from behind the staircase and Lady Amika speaks "This is the Prince from the other kingdom and he wants to marry you for the sake of the peace of both kingdoms"

I jump back and immediately Linkin takes his shield out and his sword and points it at the Prince. He nods at me and I turn around "I am sorry but I may not be of agreement to this arrangement because I want to fall in love naturally not in an arranged marriage" I motion for Linkin to follow me out and as we leave the building she says "This will save your fathers life Willow, dont want what happened to your mother happen to your father also" she warns me

"I'm not doing this Lady Amika" I stomp out

Linkin falls and I rush over to him and see a big spot of blood on his side bleeding profusely. The prince stands with his own sword out and I scream.

I shake Linkin but hes so weak he can't speak. Lady Amika orders the knights of the other kingdom to take me away. I take Linkins sword and aim it at them and they step back.

"If you take me away from him I will kill myself in front of all of you" I look around and turn the sword inwards toward my stomach and Lady Amika's eyes widen and she motions for them to stand down. Linkin moves slightly and I look down at him "Linkin please be alive?"

He coughs and I notice the wound sealing by itself and I see a blue fairy on it and the fairy stares at Lady Amika with anger. A light begins to form around us and Lady Amika orders them to strike but then the swords hit a barrier that suddenly appeared around us.

The prince takes a black sword out and stabs the barrier and it breaks and he aims for Linkin but I put my hand out to stop him and a light comes out of my hand and knocks him down to his feet. Linkin wakes up and the fairy disappears. I grab his arm and take off running and we make it to the horse and I get on behind him this time.
