Chapter 6

"Where do you want me to drop you?" Hades asked the woman.

"Rebecca," She muttered.

"What?"

Hades could hardly hear with the buzzing city noise surrounding them as he drives along the busiest streets of Larkspur city. Famously known with skyline buildings and top of the edge infrastructures, the city is a promising haven for all business people like Hades.

"My name is Rebecca, sir. I'm sorry. It was so impolite of me to forget about mentioning my name."

Hades doesn't seem to mind it either. To him, knowing her name or not does not matter at all, because once he drops her off then it's done.

"So where do you wish me to drop you then, Rebecca?" Hades eventually asked acknowledging her name at the end.

Rebecca drew a smile from her face hearing her name from Hades. She couldn't hide it that looking away from him was the only thing she had to do to get away from the embarrassment.

Hades on the other tried not to linger his eyes towards her. He focused his eyes on the road while waiting for her answer. Trying to ignore looking from her was an easy task for Hades. For many years, he had mastered the skill of isolation even to women. Because for him, the woman he has been looking for to date has not appear just yet.

"You can just drop me on the next outpost." Rebecca finally answered.

Hades just nods. He avoided glancing towards Rebecca again to keep his attention towards the road. He still finds it odd how can someone like Rebecca could make him think in such obscene manner where all of his years of solitude seemed to have been thrown in an instance?

What could be so special about Rebecca that makes his chest throb especially after their bodies became so intimately close? Hades wouldn't normally be like this around other woman, but Rebecca is different.

She is just too exceptional from the rest of women who had tried to get around Hades. She was just too hard to clear off his mind that Hades couldn't still get rid of the lingering scent of rose and ambrosia mixture from his nostrils that has been poisoning his mind with explicit thoughts.

"Sir, are you sure there isn't anything I can do to repay you?" Rebecca brought the topic once again.

It was a bad thing for Hades' end that she has to bring it up on the table once more. Hades was trying his best to keep his attention mainly on the road and away from ever looking at her. But right now, he also has to keep his composure away from responding anything stupid because of her question.

"I already told you, my answer. Wasn't I clear a while back?"

Hades sounded pretty stern, and this instantly sent Rebecca to shut herself and adjust aside. She was left slouching at the edge of her seat, feeling so small and somewhat humiliated-looking after hearing Hades' respond.

The next few moments became so dull that Hades finally manage to focus on the road. Hades knew that Rebecca might be insinuating something that would again trigger his wild fantasies. Hades loosen his tie a bit as they proceed to drive towards the next outpost.

But it seems that fate has another plan to continue testing Hades' limits when the sky became evidently darker that the stars were no longer visible in the night sky. He wondered how did it turn out that way when there was no even a weather report of an abrupt rain forecast for the day.

It was almost a few blocks away from the outpost that Rebecca told him when the heavy rain furiously kissed the ground. Each drop felt like an intense down pour as the loud splatter could still be heard inside the car by the two.

Hades became infuriated once more.

He already told himself that driving Rebecca out of the area would be the last time he would be extending his hand for her. But it seems that fate has other plans to even ruin his mood and evening by showering their way with a heavy rain.

It would only leave him in guilt throughout the night if he will be leaving Rebecca roaming the streets out in the rain. For sure, she can't stay long in the outpost waiting for daybreak.

He is again in deep thought not just after Rebecca's plans after he drops her off but also from his own thinking. It's becoming a complete annoyance of him as to why he seem too concerned for her.

Hades tried withdrawing this concern. If he has to finish getting involve in her mess, he shouldn't be worrying himself whatever happens to her from here. But it wasn't as easy like how Hades wish it would be.

"I can already see the outpost from here. Thank you so much for your help, Sir." Rebecca said, placing her palm on his right thigh.

Hades finally snap from his deep thinking. "Damn it!" He said as he maneuvers the steering in contrast to the direction, making a u-turn to a direction away from the outpost.

"Excuse me but, Sir, the outpost was over there." Rebecca was utterly baffled and surprised by Hades' action but she still tried to respond.

"I know," Hades replied. His voice a bit firm than earlier that has brought Rebecca to be a little more cautious with her reactions.

"But—"

She was cut out after Hades let out a sigh. "You told me you wanted to repay me right?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Well then, I have something for you to do."

"What is it?" Rebecca became so curious that she wasn't able to hold herself from asking Hades endlessly.

Hades who was getting a bit flustered from her endless question forced himself to endure it and restraint his madness from bursting. Although he wanted to get mad at her, Hades just becomes easily restrained simply after looking through Rebecca's guiltless amber eyes.

"You'll know it once we arrive there."

Hades focused his eyes on the road but Rebecca held on his arm and asked anther question, "Where, sir?" it sounded so naturally seductive that Hades wasn't able to control himself from looking at her.

"M-my house."

Hades couldn't believe it either, but he just actually stammered before a woman. A woman named Rebecca who is a total opposite of the woman he really desired. And right now, all Hades just wish to happen is for his inner demons to calm down as the heat within him is slowly suffocating him especially as Rebecca drew herself closer to him again, provoking him and his sanity to lose control.
