Chapter 23. Trapped

Chapter 23

Clara and Benoni emerged from the indigo looking portal 25 kilometers away from the slave establishment, stunned by the sudden change in surroundings they stared in disbelief. The transition was jarring, as if they had left one world and entered another entirely.

The air was different here, thicker and more humid, the sand beneath their feet felt warm on the ground as if they had appeared in the desert.

"What happened?" Clara said, as she was dusting off the sand on her clothes due to the fall from the portal.

The last thing she remembered was being pulled by that "dark hole" after that she had ended up in an unknown world.

" Where is this place?" She turned and looked up. The sky above them was streaked with deep oranges and gray clouds, casting an otherworldly glow on the landscape.

"I think we went through a portal. This is what I have been meaning to create my whole life and finally, I ve got it." Benoni rambled. " I created a teleportation device"

"Wait" Clara spluttered "You did what??"

" Yes, I created the teleportation device but I never thought it would work. Am a genius!"

Slap!!

" Are you out of your mind!" Clara screeched. " Do you even know where we are? What if there's a creature out there that eats humans"

" No but, I thought you would be happy, I am literally the first person to create a teleportation device. " Benoni uttered.

"Okay" ignoring the scientist, she went on with her question. "Where is Benjamin?" He was the first person that got pulled inside the vortex.

" I don't think he is here" Benoni looked at the vast land in front of them and nothing showed there's life out there "I can't see him anywhere"

"What!" Clara gasped. " This is all your fault you… what's your name?"

" Benoni," He answered.

" What a stupid name" She walked forward but she only saw the bare land that scattered in front of them. "Benoni or whatever you are, get us out of here as soon as possible" But turning south, she saw something that made her jaw drop! "Two moons!!" It was noon and the two moons had appeared in the south while the sun set was on the north side. She rushed backwards hoping to see the portal that brought them but saw nothing.

"I am trapped" She mumbled. 'I'm no longer on Earth!'

"Hold on, maybe there's a house here somewhere?" Benoni turned to look at her but she was gone!

"Clara, where are you going?"

"I am going to find a way out of here" she yelled.

" Are you kidding?" Said Benoni. " We don't even know whether we're on top of the food chain or not. Wait until I come up something"

"genius!!" Clara snapped. " What would you come up with, check the weather conditions, invent a gun or something? Oh maybe you will pull food out of nowhere. Silly boy, just follow me."

Benoni thought this was some of the transmigration novels he used to like but when he pinched himself he knew he had messed up pretty bad this time. This is a real life situation a person could actually die!

" Wait for me!"

He hurried near the girl as they walked a good distance of 4 meters but just then a dark-large creature with wings hovered above them.

[Slave establishment. 17: 20 ]

"get in line with the rest of the slaves!"

Benjamin was dumb struck of what he just heard.

"I am not a slave!" He yelled instantly. "I don't even belong here"

" get him inline with the other slaves!" The guard ordered.

Just then, Benjamin saw his own body moving against his will as two strong hands dragged him forward until they reached the large entrance. "You are mistaken, I came through a portal. I am a free man!" His yelling was silenced by the wailing of the crowd.

Benjamin stared and saw something far worse than his situation; children almost the same age as him, women, men, all of them lined up with their hands tied behind their backs while the slave drivers dragged them.

Disturbed, he tilted his head to the other side, as he was being dragged, then his eyes got glued to the young girl chained while she sat on the floor, and her white clothes seemed like she came from a royal family. Looking closely, her forehead was bleeding, after being hit with that heavy bat she could barely stand.

"Obey orders. Slave!"Benjamin watched as The slave driver slapped her with his knuckles creating red marks across her smooth face. She yelped in pain but her cries fell on deaf ears. She wasn't just going to strip in front of Animals. It was against her standards as a princess.

And she was right, they were indeed animals. The slave drivers that had fur on their skins were stronger and more powerful unlike the pale looking tall humanoid figures.

The slave driver had had enough with the girl, she had refused to uncloth herself.

And it was hurting his reputation.

He grabbed the girl by the throat then held her in the air. His hands tightened around her small neck seizing her breath.

Ding!!

[Bonus quest obtained. Kill him]

This was exactly what he wanted to do.

"I said strip. If you won't then I will do that for you!"

After he had said that, he threw her to the ground as dust followed her body. The girl screamed after her head hit the hard ground. His head covered in bruises Benjamin couldn't discern whether her hair was red or she was just bleeding. "I won't." She said that, shaking.

The guard came closer to her and grabbed her to stand. Then he started shredding her royal clothes off her skins slowly while she cried. After she became naked, he pushed her to her knees once again. "Now we are even"

Benjamin was staring at the whole thing and without him knowing his eyes had become watery. The system told him this new world he was taking him was filled with Wicked people but he never anticipated something like this. Just watching the whole scene and not being able to do anything made him feel hopeless.

Maybe perhaps there is something he hasn't done yet?

"Bring this one to me!" After that cold voice two strong arms held him up while dragging him in such a way that his legs barely touched the floor.

Benjamin was so unprepared for this, since they had done that to the girl there was no chance they would spare him.

"Lucky for you human! You are already wearing slave clothes. It was then Benjamin noted the robe he was wearing. It was a pale white robe that touched his toes.

They dragged him closer to that metallic gate. Soon after they entered Benjamin saw the remaining six doors still standing there. Just staring at it he felt numb. Seven gates! How is he ever going to escape?

'Perchance there's a way outside somewhere right?' he tried to calm himself but failed.

Then he heard the slave driver speak. "This is the end of your trip, slave!" Just then he struck Benjamin's head with a heavy bat, instantly rendering him unconscious.

[Four hours later]

Benjamin was woken up by the screamings from all over the place. His legs felt weak, his eyes unstable, he tried to focus on the metal bars that appeared in front of him.

There were no lights in the room but ahead of him, he noticed the light spilling down through the walls on the ground where the lantern must have been placed. Soon everything became dark. A while later his eyes adjusted the darkness. He tried to find a way out of the tiny dark room but the heavy rod was locked.

"Get me out of here!!" He screamed.

But nothing happened, no portals opened, nothing.

"Get me out of here!" He came and slammed his fists against the hard metals but it only caused him to bleed.

As he was doing this, he heard another short cry. Confused, he turned around, noticed two beds at the side of the walls. ''Maybe I am mistaken.' He tried stepping away then he heard yet another wail.

Benjamin got closer. "Please come outside."

then it struck him hard, it was that same girl that the guards stripped..
