19. Co-nian wasn't the system

The two kids walked back to the orphanage building and luckily for them the supervisors weren't around. So the senior boy of the orphanage; Fredrick Moore, granted them a place to sleep for the night and after that he would further introduce them to the mistress the next day.

Because they were new, Moore didn't have that kind of authority to let them sleep in one of their dormitories; It was far too dangerous for him.

Clara had pleaded with him until finally he gave them the chance to sleep at the hall. Clara never complained about the decision and accepted it instantly because having slept in the forest under a tree before she had no option but to comply and compared with sleeping on a couch with a boy, it wasn't too hard for her.

After all she had slept with Benjamin before and they Both have been through hell together, she never felt bothered sleeping on the same couch with Benjamin even though she suspected he was hiding something.

It was a new day if it weren't for the fact that Benjamin didn't sleep. He kept on staring at the ceiling until the morning sun rose. He was restricted where he was sleeping. He didn't want his back touching Clara.

After waking up Benjamin has his whole body aching, and his eyes felt so tired to even see. He couldn't just sleep off, he was afraid he might wake up in the middle of the night naked just like before. Or probably have visions seeing himself attacking people. If he is going to stay there for long then he should try not to sleep or else someone might die.

After laying there for several hours he eventually got up from the couch. Clara was lying there peacefully.

He decided to take a look at the new place, it was a wide building. He had walked on the balcony for a while now and almost all the kids were busy sleeping. [Looks like you woke up far too early].

Benjamin ignored Co-nian.

He then continued walking further, the sound of metals hitting a very hard surface echoed from a far distance room. He continued walking, flowing through the origin of the sound. The clanging of the metal didn't stop; it was as if it was waking everyone from their sleep.

The sound was growing, making it too hard for him to take and it was blocking his hearing.

[You idiot. Trace the sound and stop whoever that is doing it.]

Benjamin walked through the aisle of the walls until he spotted a very small door. It look reddish brown in color and looked as if it was off limits for children. Of Course when you put it that way, he was part of it.

He contemplated it. Because whatever that is making those noises should be dangerous, and for what he had seen with his eyes when he remembered the lab, he didn't want to confront any evil scientist. But thinking about it, he came to realize that this was an orphan home and whoever the blacksmith may be can't possibly build something that might transfer him off world?

It was decided, he placed his hands slightly against the door and pushed it while the clanging sounds were made. But little did he know that his footsteps weren't silent.

"Do I have a visitor?" The black stains of his gown was the first thing Benjamin noticed as he opened the door of the basement and the lights reflected on his face. "You can come in if you want?" He said with his British Accent.

Benjamin was shocked to see the person responsible for making all those noises, he was what the phrase filthy-sleazy means. "Who are you?" Benjamin asked instantly.

Dirty oils were dripping off of his neck like a zombie. His face was covered in stains of machines and his dark short hair was covered in pure mess. His hands were covered in dirt but it didn't last long enough. He wiped it off with his clothes. "I'm Benoni," He said.

No one knew what he had been up to, and looking at him Benjamin wondered the same thing.

" WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE!" Benjamin asked as if he owned the town. He looked at him from head to bottom while he said those. There was no way the boy could outgrown him.

"You know, just cooking up something for y'all." He stood there scratching his head in an awkward manner after he had replied.

[ That boy is crazy, let me kill him instantly] The system said.

" You are evil, you know?" He said to Co-nian.

Benjamin is still glaring at him. So this was the guy that was making all those noises? He was surprised!

"What is this you are making?"Benjamin asked, looking at the triangular metal on the table. Even though it didn't look that big, it looked twice the size of the human head, And the object looked strange, the texture of the box was smoothly polished while the other end had weird symbols.

"If you are looking at this, this thing you see here wasn't made by the hand but was made through magic if you look at it clearly " He said advancing in Benjamin's direction

" Hold on, magic?" Benjamin leaned closer. There were unique symbols drawings on it that didn't belong to humans. He was about to touch it but the guy rushed to his direction and stopped him.

"You can't just come here and touch stuff you don't know what it might do to you"

"Why not? Benjamin asked, still staring so bad at the object. "What is this"

"I don't know. I found this in the river. I took it to the museum and they told me that the box was once found in the depths of the ocean but they found no value of it so they returned it but didn't know how it was transferred all the way to the Amazon river. " He explained.

" So what's inside?" Benjamin asked.

" Follow me" The boy said, moving towards a drawer. " Ever since I got that box, I have been doing some research. Through the online forums but never got any answers.

"So how is this helping?" Beny came to stand beside him.

"Have patience. I will tell you." He stretched and stood on the tip of his toes. Then he pulled out a huge book the size of a bag. "This is the book I got my answers from. It is the book Of Syndrome. It was adapted from the magic book The Book of Mormon by a mage called Cedric Forcen…."He rambled.

" Wait. I thought you were a mechanic but suddenly you are taking me to the Fantasy world. Listen to yourself, Magic book called the Book of Mormon…" He paused.

He has heard that name before. Perhaps when he was at the siren Kingdom. " Continue!" Benjamin sat down. Maybe the boy might say something useful.

" Yeah. Cedric Forcen was a very powerful mage known in History books as one of the most powerful people on the planet. He was the one that was responsible for freeing the Mermaids from the krakens. Also in those days humans and the Mermaids lived together. The humans stayed on the surface while they lived in the ocean…"

Benjamin sat there a little bit amazed, despite the fact that the world had long forgotten about the Mermaids. This boy standing in front of him even knew their backstory.

Benoni continued. "At that time, he used the book of Mormon and the sword of khaos before he was able to defeat the Krakens. After he finished, he knew that the Mermaids wouldn't live peaceful for ever so he made a guide on how to find the Book of Mormon and named that book Syndrome. After that he vanished, never to be heard from again. Until the Trigins attacked.

That book was said to have answers to every question and was even capable of granting wishes and breaking curses. This you see here is just half of the book " He rambled.

[I told you to kill him earlier. Look at how long he took to just mention the title of the book to you.] Co-nian said so tired of listening to those fantasies.

"So how is this supposed to have anything to do with the box?" Said Benjamin.

"Oh right. I got caught up in the History myself. There might be a possibility that this box might contain something like one of the weapons Cedric Forcen made. Just in case the Planet got attacked." The boy said.

" Let me see." Benjamin took the heavy book and spread on the table and started flickering the pages until one page caused his heart to tremble.

" The cursed Dungeon at the Sirens kingdom housed both the sword of Khaos and the Book of Mormon." Benjamin read those allowed almost shocked.

" Oh don't be too surprised. There is no way we can go there. It's under the sea." The boy said .

As Benjamin continued to look at the pages he saw a picture of a green creature.

[Don't read that Benjamin. Please don't. ] Co-nian started shivering. His cover is almost blown.

On the couch was a girl around her teenage years lying on it. Mrs Helena, one of the mistresses, walked closer and saw that the girl was definitely not from their country.

"Hello there!" She woke her up. "What are you doing here?" Mrs Helena asked while the girl was fully awake.

"Where do you come from?" Miss Helena asked.

"I am sorry about this, but we were lost." She told her.

"Did you say we?"

"Me and my… boy-friend" Clara lied.

" Oh. Your boyfriend? So how long since you ve been dating?" Her noisy character took the better part of her.

" Since yesterday. " Clara replied.

"What! You can't be serious. Anyway, what is your name?"

"Clara." She said "Call me Clara.".

Helena came to sit by her side. "What about your boyfriend?"

"Benjamin." She replied.

" Where is he?" Helena asked looking around. "Have any of you seen Benjamin!" She yelled at the other kids directly.

" He is with Benoni" Hearing this she didn't have to ask again because she knew Benoni was definitely in his basement.

"Go to the basement and call me Benjamin!"

Benjamin was still looking at the picture on the page. The creature displayed there had scales that adorned his body and it looked deadly like a predator. It's hands had claws and between the fingers were another fins just like those of the ducks.

'It can be. This is just like the creature Clara described to me.' He was still looking at it. Despite the warnings Co-nian had been giving to him. 'Isn't this me?"

Benoni came to stand behind him. "Well if you want information about that creature, you could just open the next chapter.

[Don't listen to him Benjamin. He is lying to you]

Benjamin proceeded and turned to the next chapter. Then the first thing he read was :

The Story of the Trigon!

His eyes instantly followed word after word on the page.

There was a very strong creature that once lived in the ocean. He was all powerful and all stronger. He lived to torture the mermaids. He was all powerful. Nothing could defeat the Trigon, It was then the king of the ocean battled him to death. Before dying he draw out the sword of Khaos and trapped him inside.

It was later believed that the sword was sent to the Sirens kingdom so that no one would see it. Before the king could defeat the Trigon he used the Sword of Khaos to curse him so that his soul would be trapped inside the sword of Khaos.

The person to free him will become the host of the curse for the rest of his life and live his life as the beast ; The Trigon. The new reborn Trigon has to finish all The Trigons missions!!

Benjamin Reeds couldn't believe what he just seen. All this while he was cursed? No wonder he usually wakes up at night.

"Well you haven't seen the chapters that stated how the curse could be lifted. It's just on the next page" Benou said.

Before Benjamin could open the next page a boy rushed into the basement.

" Benjamin! The mistress wants to see you?" Hearing this Benjamin glared at him with eternal hatred. He wasn't going to stop reading, not now!! Until now that he was finally going to get rid of the Trigon someone barged inside.

"It's okay." Benoni assured him. " I will still be here working on my teleportation device."

They arrived at the hall, and sadly every other kid was there, waiting for them to arrive. Clara was just sitting next to the seemingly beautiful attractive lady as if she had done something bad.

Seeing everyone present and looking at the lady suggested maybe perhaps she was the one that called him so he went there. But the moment he locked eyes with the woman she froze.

"This! Is your boyfriend?" She looked at Benjamin with disgust.

Clara didn't respond instead she laughed slightly.

"Hi am Benjamin." He told her.

"I know that already. Now tell me what you two were doing on our couch alone in the middle of the night?" The other kids were laughing at him.

He looked at Clara but she never uttered a word.' Okay so have to tell then'

"Our parents are dead and we were searching for a place to stay until luckily we happened to find this place. So we were hoping if we could stay?" After Benjamin told her that, everything was quiet. She looked back at him as if she was going to say something very bitter.

Benjamin watched as the woman's lips curved and started to open. " Haha. I was just missing with both of you. From now onwards you two are part of us. And as long as you continue to stay we will always welcome you." Miss Helena told him.

" Just don't get yourself near those strange stuff Benoni is making."
