Caesar adjusted his white cloak and looked up at the cloudy sky. It had begun to snow. He watched with his one healthy eye as the snowflakes fell from the sky slowly towards the cliff. Dozens of meters below, the waves pounded the sharp rocks of the cliff accompanied by the wind that lifted a thin layer of mist and carried the scent of the sea.

The dawn inquisitor turned and walked through what a few days earlier had been Viscountess Albimbert's bedroom. The rock walls of the place had been destroyed and the wooden ceiling had been blown to pieces. However, the room was not the only part of the building that was in such a state.
