What a long day!
After the call ended. Monica's father said, "I told you so. Now, even if you beg in front of me you will not be able to get the job back. And you, you should not study in prestigious schools like this. You should go to some small schools." I looked at Ms. Lily, I was surprised to see her expression. She smiled. She said, "Don't worry, I don't think so you will succeed. Give me a moment." She went out of the office for a few minute. She returned.
Exactly after five minutes, Monica's father's phone rang. The call was not long. I could just hear, "Okay. I will wait." He then said, "Ha-ha, I guess you guys should wait a little more. The manager is coming for you to fire by person." We waited for fifteen minutes because I obviously could do nothing except waiting. All of us sat quietly except Monica and her father. They were chatting a lot. Ms. Lily just looked at her phone and scrolled.
