"I would like know the price of absolute mental defence against all beings and their inferior versions, if it's available."

He looked at me laughed a bit-

"First of all you can't afford absolute mental defence and the subsequent lesser versions depends on the tiers. For example, a tier 4 mental defence blocks the mental attack or probing of tier 4 and below beings. And you can't afford this too. The currently the most powerful mental defence you can afford Is the tier 6 as it cost you 3200 karma points."

Hmm, that's costlier than I imagined. Understandable. After all it's a safe method to protect yourself from all kinds of mental attack. This is a problem. Ah..

"Chief is there a growth type mental defence perk or related perk available? Which also should be pretty cheap."

"Sure there is, and also there are two options for you. First one- evolvable telepathic defence, this perk basically forms a mental shield, as long as you are exposed to mental attacks and mental repair, it'll grow exponentially. At higher tiers or levels you could even use telepathy. A very convenient perk. And for the second one it's called- Fighter's will. It's based on mental strength. As you grow stronger physically your mental strength also keeps up with it. It can't be flexible as above mentioned perk but if you have a mental defence building technique it can go a long way."

"That sounds cool. What is cost for both of them , Chief?"

"The evolvable telepathic defence costs 700 karma points. While the fighters will costs about 380 karma points and the technique costs about 200 karma points. Which would you like to take?"

'Hmm this is easy, I would obviously go for the second one because it goes well with my wish but i have to train extra with the mental defence technique.'

"Chief, I'll take the Fighter's will and the mental defence technique. And I want some body control perk or technique which would allow me to control my strength long term. Is there anything you recommend?"

"Control eh, hmm let's see, there is a perk called- absolute body control which provides the user control 100% of his body strength and total control over his body. This is a perk and not technique so you don't have to train it to get control over your powers it comes automatically."

This is a marvellous perk but I think there is a 'but' coming on the way. Chief chuckled a little bit.

"But it's a bit costly for your budget and from what you are going to ask me, you can't afford this. It costs 2500 karma points."

Damn, this is like showing honey only to feed you water. What a headache. The instant I heard the perk I wanted it but costs too much. And it will be detrimental to the perks I was going to ask. Hmm I'll have to settle for a lesser version of it. I was going to ask about the alternative, chief himself started talking.

"There is a cheap one but, it will also be in a perk and technique combo. The perk is called- Efficient body control. It allows the holder to easily and efficiently to control his own body. The efficiency depends on the user, if the user practices a effective body control technique the efficiency increases with it. Here comes - body control technique. Both costs a total of 330 karma points in total. Are you ok with it?"

"Yeah chief, I'm good. And the next I'm going to ask is, how do I say this?, I kinda want this because it's my dream since childhood and not about strength. I want to know whether these is perk for wine making?"

Chief looked at me amused and then a small laugh escaped from his mouth.

"You know, these perks are earned by you so you don't have to hesitate to ask for anything. This is your life Justin you are going to live because it's for you to live, not for others. So just be free. And about the wine making perk.

There are a lot like- wine maker, which improves the quality of wine you make and find the good combination of materials in assortment.

Wine master- which allows you to find any error or correction exists with the existing recipe and makes it easier to form a new recipe with the given ingredients. You can analyse ingredients and their compatibility in a given recipe.

Wine grandmaster- aforementioned abilities are enhanced to extreme and you can almost make a perfect wine with given ingredients and the techniques you know. You can research the combination of ingredients and process in your mind and that will help you make recipes easier.

The next one is called wine god, I won't explain it since you can't afford it."

"The cost for the wine maker is 20 karma points.

The cost of wine master is 100 karma points.

The cost of wine grandmaster is 200 karma points. But there is a catch. If you don't have a variety of brewing methods and recipe at your disposal both master and grand master perks are absolutely useless. So I would advice you to purchase required techniques to fully utilise your perks if not it's a waste."

I looked at chief. It was the first time he advised me on getting the perks. Maybe he likes wine too. But it's good anyways because I planned to get that anyway.

If it's a Technologically advanced world I want a full ID as it will cause me less trouble and if it is magical and ancient, I want a reasonable ID based on that world. So what kind of world am I going to go, Chief?"

To which chief smirked mischievously, oh my god I think something bad is gonna happen. Believe your instinct when facing a prankster. Atleast you would know that you will be absolutely pranked regardless of what you prepare.

"Nope, it's a secret. You will find out in time don't worry about it. Hehe. About the identity, hmm, if you just want an ID which says you belong there it would be cheap. If you want to add specification it Will cost you accordingly."

"I want a resident ID , a house address ID with an own house, a fake family background but it should check out right even if someone investigates. An ID or certificate that says I'm a qualified wine maker and an interview with a wine factory research or if there is no factory a small winery in a pub is also good. A little amount of currency of that world to start my life comfortably there."

"Can I get a dimensional space exclusive to me? How much will it cost?"

"Nope, you can't get your own dimensional space. You can't afford it and you should have selected a wish based upon magic. But what you can afford is a extension pouch which could accommodate 10000 litres of water which is roughly about 10 m³ space. It will cost you 200 karma points."

"Could you make it so that it's only accessible to me. I don't want anyones greedy gazes early on."

"Possible 80 more karma points for that. If there is a higher tier individual who could undo the magic can also get an access to it though"

"It's fine chief, I can take care of that. I don't know if this is possible or not but Chief can you please hide my past life so that anyone even when they break my mental defence can't get access to them. It's kinda important in case of unfortunate situation."

"I can make that happen but it's not absolute and it'll cost you a plenty. I can make in invisible or unaccessible for tier 3 or lower beings. If a tier 2 broke your mental defence he could find out you are hiding something but not what. It's kinda useless against tier 1 beings as they can read you like an open book. It will cost you 1000 karma points for this. You can't control this and you can't willingly show to anyone even if you want to."

"Ok Chief, I think I'll manage. With this it's almost complete except for one most important thing I want to ask of you. Can you make my hair not go bald?"

I waited for the answer nervously as it is very important for me. I kinda like my hair, if it's gone I'll kinda look ugly and I don't want it. I looked at Chief who laughed mischievously at me. Oh no.

"Fine. I give up. I don't want to argue my more than this. Atleast can you make my appearance a little more handsome and manly. Because I don't want to be bald and ugly. Please."

"Hmm, I think bald look would definitely suit you but if you say so, I'll make you a little more handsome and manly according to cost."

"What is the cheapest and most presentable makeover look you could make me?"

"Hmm let's see about 20 karma points would be enough for your needs. You can get girls in that appearance even if you are bald. Is that all?"

"Yes Chief, I want to buy Martial arts genius perk, Krav Maga technique, MMA technique, Fighter's Will, Mental defence technique, Wine grandmaster, Brewnix civilization's brewing technique, Identity as I specified before, All speak, Extension pouch, to make my past life's memory unaccessible and the appearance change. I think i listed everything."

"Good. You are going to keep the remaining karma point as it is, right?"

"Yes Chief, I kinda heard that karma points can influence your next life's luck, is this true?"

"Hmm, yes it is, if you karma points is too low you would be very unlucky and would die a miserable death. So I advise you to keep atleast this much karma points. You will need it."

'Woah, he is blunt. And the last sentence is kinda giving me an ominous feeling. As always trust your instincts. It's all I can do anyway.'
