52 The Plan Failed?
"Why did you Cough* girls come back?" Kanae looked at them while coughing, these were the girls that got caught up in the fight between her and Daki before.
Naturally, Kanae tried to protect them while fending off Daki, before the latter ran away on her own suddenly. At that time Kanae told them to go where the others had gone.
"We g-got lost!!!" The girls were crying, they were too scared to make sense of anything after Kanae went away and lost their way once again since they were new to Yoshiwara. They got separated from their group while searching for someone.
BANG*
And just then Yuu landed quite badly right in front of them making the girls jump in fear.
"Tachibana-sama Cough* your arm!" Kanae looked at Yuu's left arm which was swollen.
"It is just a light fracture," Yuu said as he looked at the demon duo who were standing on the roof of the shop in front of them.
"Hey Daki aren't they your Kamuro/Apprentice?" Gyutaro recognized the girls.
"Yeah, the old coot at the brothel did bring in some brats recently," Daki seemed unenthusiastic about this.
"I see, looks like they don't much …to us that is," Gyutaro used Daki's Obi to attack Kanae and the two girls.
This was it, this was the perfect thing to do for tormenting Yuu.
'What are you going to do now, huh?' Gyutaro grinned even while knowing what Yuu would do.
That's how all demon slayers were, they put other people's life in front of them, more actively if it was their partner.
One would die trying to protect their partner while the other would die trying to avenge the dead one.
They were all foolish people with no powers but strong ideals. And that is why…
'It is so much fun to play with them,' Gyutaro looked at Yuu who turned around after seemingly saying something to Kanae, but the next instant his grin froze, 'Oi, Oi, what's the big idea? Why are you running straight at me?'
Gyutaro was confused that Yuu didn't choose to defend Kanae and the girls while they were in that state.
This wasn't normal, this isn't how it should've been.
By the time Gyutaro processed what was happening Yuu had already reached Daki who was also shocked and…
"TCH," Gyutaro could hear Yuu click his tongue as he was only able to cut half of Daki's neck.
'I was able to pull her back in time,' Gyutaro was behind this action and because of that Yuu was able to reach him quickly trying to cut his head off but.
"Did you really think you would be able to reach me?" Gyutaro was able to stop the attack but Yuu didn't stop there and kicked Gyutaro's chest using all of his momentum from the sprint to push him back from the store roof.
"I'll Rip you apart!!" Daki was enraged with what Yuu did to her and wanted to send all of her Obis to attack Yuu who had his back turned towards her.
"Focus on the other one," Gyutaro shouted as Yuu kept on attacking him to push him away from here.
Daki looked back at Kanae who was now standing after she had defended against the attacks from before.
"I'll make a present for that bastard using your head," Daki's neck was already healed but her anger wasn't soothed in the slightest.
"So, what's your trick this time?" Gyutaro asked while attacking Yuu, "You aren't even avoiding the small cuts now, huh?"
Gyutaro had a hard time landing a blow on Yuu before since he was that careful but now he wasn't caring about the small cut at all.
Each of those cuts contained the poison, and they would keep pilling up inside Yuu's body. And...
"Even if you separate me from my sister, I can still see what she can even if I am not there, So that lady partner of yours is surely going to die along with those kids as well," Gyutaro knew that Yuu should already know that without him saying it with what happened before but.
'Is this a last stand?' Gyutaro felt a little disappointed that Yuu was the same as the other pillars that have come before in the end but…
"It should start taking effect anytime now," Yuu said and Gyutaro narrowed his eyes.
"What ar-ugh?!" Gyutaro saw the world was twisting like someone had taken a plain sheet of cloth and crumpled it with their hands.
And because of this weird sensory experience, Gyutaro's body stumbled, but his brain was racing.
'Was it the poison? It was real? No, how did it stay hidden for 20 minutes?' Gyutaro could only think while searching his body for said poison as Yuu's blade struck his neck and was already halfway through it.
"You aren't the one who is poisoned," Yuu said and Gyutaro's eyes widened.
He understood what happened, Gyutaro had talked about it before. He and Daki were connected, so the one who was poisoned wasn't him rather it was his sister who he shared his core with. So the vision he was seeing now was through the eye he lent his sister.
While Gyutaro was thinking about that Yuu had cut his head off before he could move his body.
"You Bastard!!" Gyutaro shouted as his head floated in the air and countless circular blood slashes were released from his body destroying everything in the surrounding.
A minute earlier,
'I've recovered my breath now,' Kanae saw Yuu pushing Gyutaro away and defended against the attacks from Daki.
And soon Daki started to attack her again, but this time her attacks were much more furious, and most of them were aimed at the two girls behind Kanae. They screamed and cried being unable to even move because of how scared they were.
"Are you just going to stand there and defend again? Is that all you can do?" Daki kept on throwing sharp words at Kanae who was mostly unfazed by them.
'She is really angry but her attacks aren't as out of order as before,' Kanae was fully focusing on Daki waiting, and the time came.
"H-huh? W-what is happening?" Daki slipped as her body became hard to control and her vision was spinning around.
'Now!' Kanae rushed forward to attack, Yuu had told her that Daki won't be able to for a few seconds and that would be her chance. He had applied the poison on his katana in front of her eyes just before running towards Gyutaro.
"I can't see, Aah Oni-chan!!!" Daki screamed as her Obi started to flail around wildly cutting down the surroundings with no care.
It was like she was throwing a tantrum once again.
'I won't be able to get close to her like this, No I can't waste this chance, I need to use it again,' Kanae was once again changing her breathing once again.
It was a lot more painful now as some effects of the backlash were still there, not to mention that she had been in battle for a while now. But there was no other choice than to push through it.
TING* TING* TING*
Rather than Cutting down all of the slashes Kanae went through the wild tantrum of slashes by deflecting them while using her excellent vision, she didn't have to worry about the girls since they were a good distance away and Daki wasn't in her right mind to attack them.
'There!!' Kanae's eyes landed on Daki who was wobbling around like she had just spun around really fast without stopping.
She moved her katana and with a single swift slice cut through Daki's neck lopping her head in the air.
And as Daki's body fell to the ground there was a big explosion somewhere.
'Tachibana-sama' Kanae took off as she heard that it came from the way Yuu went.
"You bitch where are running? came back here!!" Daki shouted but Kanae paid her no mind.
And after just climbing on the rooftop she was able to see the destruction that had destroyed several alleys, shops, and buildings.
"Tachibana-sama!!" Kanae quickly spotted Yuu standing there with his katana clearly broken into two.
And as if all of the strength left his body after hearing her voice, he fell to the ground.
She ran towards him nearly stumbling on her way and picked him up. His eyes were closed but he was breathing and his body was hot, hotter than it should be.
'His condition isn't good,' Kanae took out a piece of bamboo from her pocket and pulled the string attached to it.
FSSSH* BOOOM*
With a small explosion it sent a red signal in the sky that burst after gaining some elevation, she knew help will come quickly as they should be on standby somewhere close.
And as expected Shinobu came flying within seconds like she had been waiting for that signal.
"His condition is really bad," That was the first thing she said as soon as she saw Yuu.
"Tachibana-sama has been poisoned for nearly an hour, Shinobu be quick there is no time to lose," Kanae's said as Shinobu nodded and took out a syringe.
"For an hour?" Shinobu was shocked.
'Did his plan fail?'
