Chap-23 In The Capital

Normal POV:-

Felix Robane, a crimson red haired knight comes in the throne room.

"Your majesty, the letter from the grand Duke has arrived."

Claude immediately stops his paperwork that he was doing earlier. It was his study with nothing but dullness. He had put up a forget spell on himself a long time ago, such that he would forget his love for a lady.

Just a month ago, rumours about the grand Duke's daughter started to spread in the capital. He didn't pay much attention to them at first, as the emperor was not allowed to look in the matters pertaining to the grand Duke's territory. But when they became a hot topic in the capital, with that girl being an intellectual, he started to take intrest in what a mere 5 year old would do. When he heard about a case pertaining to the 'rational' desicions she took, he decided to test her personally. He also wanted to know how a mere 5 year old could become a hot topic in such a short time.

The other day, some nobles who had recently visited the northern territory, asked his majesty to bestow that girl with the title of the youngest genius of the era. But then he told that a test would be taken for her, personally by himself, this was the other reason she was called for. Under the constant pestering of those irritating nobles, he also bestowed her the title of princess, on the day, the rumours reached his ears, via those nobles. It was probably a week, since those rumours about her being the Daughter of the late grand Duchess spread.

Moreover, he now was almost done forgetting his daughter, so this wouldn't matter much to him, even if he gives the title of princess, after all she was the 3rd most powerful person in the empire. His daughter was a princess in name only, being the unfavored princess, she didn't have much of an authority.

He hurriedly put away all his papers as he looked up to Felix and asked, "What did they answer?"

"They rejected the request your majesty, saying that the young miss is very small for a personal audience with your highness. She might offend you unintentionally. They have requested that if it were possible, ask for her after some years, when she would start understanding the important matters."

"I see. You may leave now."

"Yes your majesty, greetings and blessings upon the Obelion empire."

Saying this Felix left and Claude started to do his work again. He wasn't a person to bother much over petty things like that. He thought that he would ask for her again when she becomes 8 years old...

Meanwhile in the Ruby palace:-

Princess Athanasia was doing nothing but reading an advanced level maths book. She had made up her mind to impress her father, by studying a lot. Like this, she would be able to get her father's love that she always wanted. Except Lilian York all the maids in the palace ignored her and kept doing their own work all the time, that's why she was able to do it such that more people won't notice her and she would give a surprise to her father.

Suddenly she heard a knock at the window.

She saw what it was all about? She went to the window to see a white macaw with a letter on its feet. Who would send her a letter? She didn't have any friends too.

She then opened the window and took the letter. What was written in it, surprised her:-

Respected princess Athanasia,

I got to know that you want to make your father proud by showing him how knowledgeable you are. So for that, first you need to meet up with him and that too by 'accident' such that you could talk with him and show him your intelligence. You have to do this before your sixth birthday. If you don't do it before that, then your father would never recognise your talents. So one day, meet him by accident and then show him how much knowledge you are. This letter should be a secret. Think about the accident on your own. I'm your well wisher. So please do so as I say.

Her eyes glimmered after she read the letter. She could finally get her father's love. She won't be ignored anymore. She was so excited. She then thought that she should use this plan given by this unknown person today itself. She didn't understand why not to do it after her sixth birthday, and why didn't the man reveal himself, but if it was for her gain, then, she should definitely try it out.

She then hopped out of the Ruby palace with her simple pink dress and pink shoes thinking about the 'accident'.
