3 Chapter 3

— Nine Years, Eleven Months Until The End Of Yggdrasil —

"Another one bites the dust. Da da dun dun dun, another one bites the dust."

"What fucking song is that?"

"You wouldn't get it."

I frowned as I removed my sharp leg from the Lizardmen's back. They didn't have most of the songs I remembered from my past life here; who knew the many changes in history would make it so many great artists couldn't come into existence here?

Anyone with a brain, but it didn't make me feel any better about it.

[Quest Completed!]

[You Have Leveled Up!]

[37-38]

"Nice, I'm level 31!" Touch Me cheered, throwing his hands into the air. He was dawned in his shining silver armor, and I had to give him props; he looked much better now that his mandibles were covered up.

"How the hell am I still at level 30 then?!" Ulbert shouted in outrage.

"Cause you don't kill as many monsters as us," I nonchalantly answered.

"What the hell are you talking about?! I killed like twenty of them with that one attack!"

"Then lost all your mana, Mr. World Disaster." I grinned, and Ulbert turned his head away. "You're strong. Hell, if it came to a 2v1 with Touch Me and I against you, you would win, hands down, but your mana problem isn't great for farming,"

I spoke nothing but the truth. It had only been about two weeks since Yggdrasil was released to the public, and a week ago, the devs released something called a 'World Disaster' item, one to each of the nine realms.

Although we couldn't get to any of them in time, we came across someone who had consumed the item while they were exhausted and low on MP. Their party tried to defend them, but compared to us they were scrubs, and with Touch Me not wanting any title that had to do with 'disaster' and me not caring, Ulbert got the kill and became Helheim's World Disaster.

The World Disaster, putting it simply, is an overpowered title/job that starts at max level and amplifies all magical attacks by a lot. On top of that, it has a move called [Grand Catastrophe] that's wayyy too OP. It allows the user to launch an AOE attack that covers a wide area around the caster, doing enough damage to defeat opponents around their level or slightly higher in a single attack.

The downside of such an attack is that it takes up 60% of the caster's MP, no matter how much they have, and thus leaves them with much left if they were already using some.

This makes Ulbert less efficient than Touch Me and I. We can move around and attack with physical/reinforced magical attacks and retain much of our MP.

"Whatever…why don't we head back already?" Ulbert scoffed and started walking. The dude loved to brag about that job of his; it was always funny when we brought up the negatives of it.

"Alright!" Touch Me grinned, throwing his arm around Ulbert. The Greater Demon tried to shake the arm off and failed miserably. Touch Me was a physical powerhouse, while Ulbert invested everything into magic. He couldn't move Touch Me unless he really wanted to with magic. "Why don't we grab some potions before logging off."

"Sure," I smirked, walking forward on my six legs. I had evolved from Lesser Spider to Greater Spider thanks to putting my levels into racial levels, and there was a decent change to my body now. I looked more human-like, at least my upper body did.

Black hair that stopped at my forehead, ruby red eyes, a handsome face, a robust build, a chiseled chest, and muscled arms. If one looked strictly at my upper body, they would think me nothing more than a handsome human, or maybe an Arch Demon or even a Fallen Angel.

It's my lower body that clued anyone in. Specifically, the spider body that started around my groin area. It looked no different from my Lesser Spider form, with the exception of sharper legs.

I looked like a fucking monster, a terrifying one, and to some people, a handsome one.

It'd do. I liked it and believed it would work nicely in the New World.

We started walking back to the city in Helheim, 'The City of Hela,' but stopped when we heard the faint sounds of attacks.

"Someone grinding out here?" Ulbert asked, looking in the direction of the noise.

"No way." I shook my head. "We just cleared out all the monsters here, and they don't respawn for at least another thirty minutes."

"Pkers?" Touch Me questioned, letting his cape wave in the wind with an emote of his.

Dear God, here we go.

"Must be." I facepalmed as Touch Me jumped and turned around to face us.

"Evil doers, threats to justice must be dealt with, come, Pursuers of Justice, Chiefs of the Righteous, let us bring these sinners down with our neverending benevolence!"

"..."

"..."

Both Ulbert and I deadpanned at the Insectoid. He was always like this whenever we came across Pkers, and though I agreed with the belief that they should be dealt with, most of the time, something like this would happen, and the victims would already be dead by the time Touch Me finished his speech.

"Let's go." I groaned, blasting off towards the noise, the two others following close behind.

Well…Touch Me was following close behind. Ulbert was slow.

Fucking magic casters.

We jumped off the small cliff down and landed before a group of players. My eyes scanned each of them.

[Player - YoUrMoM (Lvl.22)]

[Player - LeroyJenkins (Lvl. 26)]

[Player - xXMonster_SlayerXx (Lvl. 21)

[Player - IlIlIl_IllIl (Lvl 30)]

Of fucking course they had names like these, Pkers I'm telling you. I looked behind me to see who they were attacking and my body tensed as my ruby-red eyes met hollowed-out eyes with a red glow.

[Player - Momonga - (Lvl. 13)]

[Race - Lesser Undead]

I couldn't take my eyes off of Momonga. This was the MC of Overlord, but that wasn't why my gaze couldn't be removed from them.

It was the skeleton's body that left me so stunned.

Brown robes that were held loosely to a feminine body.

A feminine body.

A feminine body.

"Doers of evil, I am here to halt your heinous acts in the name of justice!"

"Damn, they're high levels, let's get the hell out of here, guys!"

Player killers enjoyed fighting and killing those weaker than them, but when it came to someone stronger…suddenly, they became paragons of peace.

Yeah, we wouldn't be having that.

Although before I could even do anything, we heard a shout from above.

"Grand Catastrophe!"

A massive fireball formed from above that looked nearly identical to a sun from where we were standing and was launched at the running player killers.

"Oh shit!" One of them shouted, a magic caster who attempted to put up a magical defense. Fucking idiot, they would have had a better chance just casting flight on themselves.

The fireball made its way to them, destroying the flimsy barrier, and exploded into a giant mushroom cloud of fire and death.

"Leroy Jenkins!" One of them shouted as his form was eviscerated from existence.

…Just for that, if I saw those guys again, I would take my sweet time killing them.

Ulbert jumped down to our level, and I grinned while Touch Me snorted as he took fall damage. He glared at us, and we looked away quickly and whistled.

"Assholes, shit on me all you want; I just fucking nuked those guys!" Ulbert pointed at the mushroom cloud still spreading out.

"Show off." Ulbert and I snapped our heads to Touch Me with incredulous looks. "What?"

I know this motherfucker wasn't talking!

"You, 'Mr. Everlasting Justice shall prevail,' are calling me a showoff?!" Ulbert blinked, earning a quick nod from Touch Me.

"You-"

"Shut up, giving a speech now, talk later." Touch Me waved off the Goat Demon and looked at Momonga, who had been on the ground watching us until now.

"Hm, Young Momonga, you must have had it hard; you're safe now! Justice has prevailed!"

Momonga blinked, then looked at us, then back at Touch Me. "T-Thank you." That was definitely the voice of a woman.

Touch Me shook his head. "I do not require thanks. I am a paragon of all things justice in the nine realms, I am peace, I am the truth, Touch Me, and you shall too see the weight justice can bring into the realms!"

Momonga looked at us again and tilted her head.

"Just ignore the bastard; believe it or not, this is a regular occurrence, and the best way to deal with it is to not deal with it at all." Ulbert crossed his arms.

"Hey!" Touch Me shouted, and Ulbert pointed his staff at him and sent a light fireball his way, which Touch Me blocked with ease, taking only a tiny amount of damage. "Bastard!"

"Annoying little shit!" Ulbert shot back, and the two started bickering, as they tended to do.

I tuned them out and looked at the downed skeleton. I walked forward and offered a hand, my human hand, which the skeleton took. I pulled her up and gave a welcoming smile.

"Hey, I'm Kakuei. The Goat guy is Ulbert, and the armored guy is Touch Me; nice to meet you."

"Oh…I'm Momonga." She answered a small amount of reservation in her tone. She looked just above my head for a moment before speaking again. "You guys are all pretty high-level; how did you grow so fast!"

"I was a beta tester, and those idiots tend to leech off of me," I admitted, shrugging. I had the tricks, and they wanted my tricks; they were the babies that suckled off my teet, and who was I but a kind, benevolent spider with dreams of ruling another world?

"A beta tester?!" Momonga's eyes sparkled with golden light. "That means you know a lot about the game, right? Do you know how strong the dragons are? What about the best build to make? Or-"

"Calm down." I interrupted her; she paused, eyes glowing red momentarily as she realized how she had acted.

"I'm sorry!" She bowed, and now I felt bad.

"It's fine; I don't mind the questions, but I can't answer them all when you throw them at me like that."

"Right, then…"

Momonga and I talked eventually, the guys stopped fighting and asked if we would like to head back to the tavern. I, of course, was game, and Momonga, with nothing better to do, decided to tag along with us.

The rest of our night was spent in the tavern, regaling Momonga of our quests, talking about the best strategies for her to level up; and just before we all decided to log off for the night, I looked at Momonga and asked her a question.

"Would you like to join our party, Momonga?"

The girl stared at me in what I assumed was shock for several moments before she gave a slow nod. "Mnm, I'd like that."

Then there were four.
