Moving On

Zane grabbed Paige and carried her into her room. He gently placed her on the bed and touched her forehead. He doesn't know anywhere around but the house is small. He found his way to the bathroom and got a towel, a soft towel. The tap seemed broken but he soaked the towel anyway. Hurriedly, he went into the room and placed it on her forehead.

Staring at the way she laid on the bed, made him remember the way she cried earlier. He snapped out of the thought and stared at her. He left her room and left to his house.

Quinn got out of the bathroom, drying her wet hair with a towel. She saw her phone lit up. She hung the towel on he makeup chair and walked towards her phone. She got a message from one of her messenger.

A smile crept on her face so she decided to call him instead. Nate wasn't in the room. He was with his sister in the sitting room.

"Hey" she said with a smile on her face.

"Hello ma'am"

"Tell me" she whispered.

"I've gotten the ladies ready. You'll meet them tomorrow"

"Sure, I'll meet them at the hotel I mentioned earlier"

"Yes ma'am" he said and disconnected the call. Quinn happily threw her phone on the bed and bit her lower lips.

"Let's see what happen next Nate. You'll have to impregnate someone else and not me" she murmured.

.

The next morning, Paige woke up and yawned. She sat up and touched her forehead but something fell from her head.

It was a towel.

"How?" She murmured. Everything she could remember was when she walked pass that door and fell down. No idea of anyone that helped her... except, the cab driver.

"He must be the one" she murmured and stood up. She cleaned herself and found something to eat. Her mother was gone now, she could call herself an orphan. Her mother's death was something she expected.

.

.

"Be sure to come home early" Trisha said to her brother before he entered his car.

"So you will beat me on today's game again. Sure, I'll come back early" he said and entered into the car.

Trisha watched as her brother drove off. As she turned to entered into the room, she saw Quinn walking out of the house. She dressed stylishly with a huge sunglass on her.

Trisha frowned her face in disgust and turned away from her. She head into the house but Quinn's voice stopped her.

"Aren't you going to bid me goodbye?" She asked. Trisha shoved her hair to the back of her ear and turned to stare at the annoying girl behind her.

"What do you mean bid you goodbye? You and I share no relationship" she said.

"You'll have to reconsider what you just said to me sister in law. I'm married to your brother" Quinn reminded her. Trisha gave a fake smirk and walked into the house. Quinn also catwalk into her car and zoomed off.

.

Paige was thinking of getting something to eat. She had slipped into a nice green shirt with Jean trouser. While looking for her purse, she heard the doorbell rang. She furrowed her eyebrows because she hasn't gotten any visitor for about four months.

"Who is it?" She asked and walked to the door. She slowly opened it and peeped outside.

"Oh, it's you" she said and pushed the door wide open.

"Yeah, it's me" Zane replied with a heart warming smile.

"Please come in" she said, welcoming him. He stepped into the house. Paige felt shy letting a guy I to her house. The last person she had let in was...no nobody.

"I was just about to go out to grab breakfast"

"I bought you some food. I know what you've gone through yesterday so..."

She lowered her gaze and saw the bag in his hand. A fake smile crept on her face.

"Thanks" she said and shoved her hair to the back of her ear shyly as she collected the bag. She hurriedly peeped inside.

"I'll serve it for both of us" she said and left. Zane wanted to say no but he just didn't want to go. He stared round the house, admiring the painting even if it looked a bit old.

Nate was in a happy mood as he walked into his company. His assistant walked to him and told him to sign in.

"Sure" he said with a smile and signed quickly.

"A cup of hot coffee to my office" he said and left. Betsy's lips curved into a broad smile.

"He must be in a happy mood today. Here's my chance to flirt with him" she murmured and bit her lower lips.

.

Betsy got into Nate's office after about five minutes. She placed his cup of coffee before him. He raised his head and saw how she exposed her upper b**bs in front of him. He stared at it and raised his head to stare at her.

"Your button must be broken" he said.

"Oh, yes sir. It broke this morning because my..you know, they are too huge" she said smiling. He scoffed and lowered his gaze.

"Hmm. Have you gotten a replacement for the secretary that left?" He asked her, staring at his laptop.

Betsy sat down opposite him.

"I did but I sent her away" she frowned, thinking about Paige. She knew Nate would praise her for doing such a thing.

"Why?" He asked, still staring at his laptop.

"You wouldn't believe who she is. She wants to ruin this company the same way she ruined the former company she worked for. I didn't hesitate to send her away. She's such a fool for thinking that she'll ever get a chance here" she flung her hair to the back seductively.

"Hmmm. And who is she?" He asked as if he has interest in who Betsy was talking about.

"It's the radio presenter. That Paige girl!"

Nate was dumbstruck when he heard Paige's name. He finally raised his head and glared hard at Betsy.

"What did you say you did to her?" He asked in a shaky voice.

Betsy could feel his anger. She wondered why he was suddenly worked up about the radio presenter.

"I sent her away" she said.

"Are you crazy?!" He yelled, banging his hand on the table.
