7 Rejected

"Hello."

Hiruzen picked up the phone handles and listened to the caller's voice, who had already called him.

"Hello Mr. Haruhi, I'm Doctor Torodabi. Sorry to call you like this, but I called you to remind you that the patient has to do a check-up for the womb."

Hiruzen took the phone away from him to take a deep breath. Hiruzen's head felt even dizzier remembering his daughter, who couldn't be found right now.

"Sorry Doctor, but... My daughter is still nowhere to meet for now. She is still locked in her room, thank you for contacting me to remind my daughter's check-up schedule," said Hiruzen.

"I'm sorry to hear that, I will help you as much as possible to take care of your child's health so that your daughter and your future grandchildren are always healthy. I have time to discuss this, if you are willing then we can meet today," Shouken said by telephone.

Hiruzen's expression looked doubtful, he didn't doubt Shouken but doubted the outcome of their conversation later. The middle-aged man doesn't want to bother other people who are busy like Shouken, Hiruzen knows very well how active a doctor is, incredibly a specialist who also has a hospital and campus.

"Thank you very much for your kindness, but maybe this matter doesn't need to take up more of your time. Part of the cause of this problem is personal. So I hope you understand our problem," said Hiruzen. "I thank you and apologize again to you, I am indebted to you for all your attention."

Shouken scratched his temple with his index finger, even though he didn't like being rejected. This refusal was already included in Shouken's prediction. In fact Shouken was not too surprised if Hiruzen rejected his offer.

"There's no need to apologize, you haven't done anything wrong at all. I did this assistance purely out of my concern and I won't force it if this section has become the scope of the patient's and family's personal affairs. But you don't have to hesitate if you want to ask for help. Please contact me if the patient needs medical assistance," said Shouken in a friendly manner.

Hiruzen lost his prestige, he felt he had no self-respect these days. Hiruzen's feelings of guilt and shame made Hiruzen feel inferior. Repeatedly apologizing, repeatedly touching useless, even in front of Shouken Hiruzen felt very awkward. Seeing Katsuhi depressed because of her pregnancy makes Hiruzen feel like a failure as a man.

"I thank you again for your kindness, sorry for taking up your time. I will turn off this phone call," said Hiruzen.

Shouken understood that Hiruzen was annoyed, but Shouken chose not to contact Hiruzen for the time being. Hiruzen must have been very confused in responding to Katsuhi's attitude of depression mixed with mood swings during her pregnancy. That's what Shouken is worried about, Hiruzen and his wife might take shortcuts to abort Katsuhi's womb.

Far away, at Hiruzen's house, Hiruzen was preparing to go to the office again. He can freely leave his work place because no one can stop him. Hiruzen had time to go home because he was worried about Katsuhi's condition. Still, because there was no bad news from Katsuhi, Hiruzen decided to return to the office.

"Who called you?" Harumi asked Hiruzen.

"Doctor Torodabi. He asked about Katsuhi's condition and reminded Katsuhi's check-up schedule. He had want to come here and discuss Katsuhi's solution, but I don't think Katsuhi can be bothered either and actually the problem Katsuhi is experiencing is a mental problem. Katsuhi had to postpone her pregnancy check-up schedule," said Hiruzen to his wife.

"Your refusal I don't think it sounds good. I mean, why don't we just try to discuss this matter with the doctor as well? He can provide a solution in his field, and maybe there's something else that's also keeping Katsuhi shut down because of the stress he's going through. Now, I think you better reflect on your decision."

"No, we don't need that," said Hiruzen. He steadfastly rejected his wife's opinion. "That's good for Katsuhi."

"What do you think?" Harumi asked, she couldn't believe what she heard. "Do you think Katsuhi's current condition is something to be taken lightly? Katsuhi is under stress and depression, even Sei never came here to help Katsuhi get out of her troubles, but instead you refused help from Doctor Torodabi."

"Stop lead my opinion to agree with yours. I already know what's best for Katsuhi, why do we keep the womb? I'm looking for someone who can abort the womb, Katsuhi will never escape her suffering if she doesn't abort the pregnancy."

Hiruzen insisted on solving Katsuhi's problem shortly and quickly. For Hiruzen, the most important thing was to save Katsuhi's sanity, no matter if someone else had to be sacrificed because of it.

"You're crazy! Just because you are a man and have never given birth then you easily decide to abort someone else's womb. Don't you love your grandchild?! You killed your own grandchild!"

Harumi's motherly spirit balked at her husband's crazy idea, Harumi couldn't bear it if she had to agree with Hiruzen's idea to abort Katsuhi's womb. Maybe it looks good for Katsuhi because Katsuhi will no longer have trouble taking care of her pregnancy and can undergo therapy for her mental health, but is it proven? Will it be good in the long run after this? Hiruzen didn't think about the long-term impact of his decision.

"I don't care, if you don't agree I ask for a solution from you. Do you have a proper solution for that? There isn't one right?"

Harumi was silent, she lost this debate. Katsuhi's mother doesn't have a way to solve Katsuhi's problem. However, that doesn't mean Harumi immediately agrees and wants to follow the way her husband gave her.

"We'd better talk about this later, you and I are both emotional. We don't get anything other than a new problem," said Harumi to mediate the situation. He then took Hiruzen's briefcase to Hiruzen.

Hiruzen put the bag on the table, he didn't need it now. And Hiruzen was rushing not to go to the office. The perception of the people who saw Hiruzen preparing to leave seemed to have misjudged Hiruzen's intentions.

"Where do you want to go?" asked Harumi surprisedly.

"Solved this problem," said Hiruzen.
