Vanessa casually sat on the couch, making herself comfortable.
'You did and even got the approval came, but as the paperwork was nearing its end, your application got rejected.'
Jason couldn't understand what she said.
--Rejected at the last moment?
'Just who has so much power that he can reject a decision made by the Headquarters. Who did it?'
Frustration and confusion were boiling up inside Jason while he was barely keeping his serenity. Vanessa nonchalantly said something that made him feel cold.
'Uncle did.'
'...Father?'
Jason whispered to himself to let it sink in. He fell quiet for a moment. He looked at Alex, who was still having trouble figuring it all out.
'Alex pack your things, we are going to England.'

After WWII, the united nation was formed shortly after. An organization much like its predecessor, the League of Nations. Its purpose was to prevent another world war.
However, after its predecessor failed, mankind witnessed it's most destructive war, and countless lives were lost. It believed that if there would be another one. Mankind will inevitably destroy itself.
The next one must be avoided at all costs, but the UN alone was powerless. It had no army of its own, no power in the world where might is right.
After learning from League of Nations' failure, the major nations which still had some power left came to a conclusion; "Peace cannot be maintained if there is no one to maintain it." Someone who has power, who can maintain the delicate peace and nip the buds of war before they bloom.
Another organization came into existence along with the UN. An organization that had absolute power and authority. One which was completely independent and did not belong to any country. A shadow organization that served only one purpose; To prevent WWIII at any and every cost. WS came into being.
UN will continue working in the light, maintaining peace. WS will work in the shadows to maintain order. But unlike the UN, who has trivial arguments at the drop of a hat, WS has maintained military-like discipline since its birth.
Unlike the UN, which not only tries to maintain world-peace but also tries to resolve global issues such as poverty, famine, pollution, etc., WS served one and only one purpose; To prevent WWIII.
It was not allowed to partake in any other matter though it could solve the so-called global crises in a matter of months. Since this possessed the possibility of conflict inside the WS, due to the fact that people within it belonged to different countries and sense of patriotism could awaken at any moment, it was decided anonymously that WS will not interfere in any other issue other than those which have a potential of starting a world war.
The WS operates in every country and continent, including Antarctica. 8 counties have been carefully chosen to serve as its Headquarters, England being one of them.
Inside this fearsome organization, there are many jobs available. WS soldiers, WS engineers, WS Doctors, etc. but the one which is the most powerful and the most difficult to qualify for is WS agent.
Every WS soldier is equivalent to 10 well-trained soldiers of any country, and every WS is equal to 10 WS soldiers. Being so powerful, it is understandable that there are little over 150 WS agents in total. However, the standards could be said to be set quite low for becoming one.
It doesn't matter from which country you're from, your race, religion, caste, gender or even age, as long as a WS agent recommends you and you pass the test, you're taken in. Even a 10-year old or a 90-year old can become a WS agent if he supposedly passes all the tests.
WS agents are also the ones that work the most to maintain world peace with the WS soldier's force seldomly being used. For this, they need to be faster than everybody, smarter than everyone, stronger than anyone, better than anybody. *Can you win against a grizzly bear with just a spoon? WS agents can.*
