It's DDD

Yes, it was Asuna. Alex had chosen her to be the crucial third person. Hikaru could have never imagined that she would be the key to success.

'Hi, Hikaru.'

Asuna gently waved her hand. Alex poked his head from the corner.

'Come right in Asuna. I had put on some tea earlier. I'll go bring it right now.'

To all the readers who were expecting the third person to be Yuuto or Takumi, I'm sorry they're not going to appear anymore.

Asuna changed her shoes and unexpectedly got her hand grabbed by Hikaru, who was breathing fire.

'Alex! What is the meaning of this? You're trying to drag someone like her into something this dangerous.'

'I didn't drag her into this. She was already dragged into this by Jira.'

Alex knew where Hikaru was coming form. Putting Asuna between the war of Jira and WS was nothing short of madness, but what he said was the truth.

'Hikaru, Alex had saved me from Jira.'

On one occasion, when Alex was going home, he met Asuna on the way by chance. They walked for a while when three mercenaries from Jira appeared before them. They pointed their gun at them both and warned that if Alex so much as moved a finger, she dies.

They quickly handcuffed him. Alex hoped that they would just capture him and leave Asuna alone. He could easily escape them when no one was looking.

'What are we going to do with the girl?'

The man watching her asked.

'Boss says no witnesses.'

The man who held Alex answered.

'Understood.'

The man took aim at her head to deliver a quick, merciful death.

'No.'

Asuna could hardly speak. Alex didn't want Asuna to see his abilities, but hearing this, he was forced into a corner. He broke out of the chains, pushing away from the soldiers.

'No!'

Alex grabbed the end of the gun, directing it upwards just as he shot. He kicked away the man, the other two opened fire. Alex used his body to shield Asuna.

The bullets pierced his shoulder, thigh and stomach. Alex seized the gun and used it as a bat to knock them unconscious. Alex's clothes were complete with holes and were stained with blood. It wasn't an issue for him. He knew he would recover in 5 minutes, but Asuna's heart came out of her mouth.

'Alex! Are you okay?'

*Why would she ask that? She literally saw a bullet go through his stomach.*

She ran to him. Blood kept dripping from Alex in multiple places. She shrieked, seeing it.

'Don't worry, I-I'll call you an ambulance. Y-You're going to be okay.'

She tried to console him. She quickly dialed the number but got stopped by Alex's bloody hand.

'Asuna, I'm fine.'

Alex smiled.

'No, you're not. A bullet went through your stomach. I saw it.'

Seeing it would be a problem staying there too long, Alex took her home. There he explained as little as he could. This happened after the concert/drunk men incident. Alex had kept it a secret.

'Cut the crap. Jira wasn't after Asuna. They were after you from the start. You dragged her into this.'

Hikaru raised his voice.

'She was going to get involved sooner or later, but if she is with us, she'll be safe.

'You don't get to make decisions for her!'

At this point, Hikaru didn't care about his memories anymore. He was not letting Asuna get involved in this.

'Hikaru, I made the decision to help Alex on my own.'

Asuna spoke. Her presence barely meant anything. Hikaru was not about to let the girl he loved die. *Who said she is dying?*

'Asuna, Alex is manipulating you. You're just being used.'

Hikaru cursed Alex in his heart.

'Hikaru, calm down a little.'

Alex tried to cool the raging Hikaru, but wouldn't listen to anybody. He clutched Asuna's hand against her will.

'We're leaving.'

'Hikaru.'

'Hikaru, wait.'

Hikaru wore his shoes, and Asuna was made to follow, seeing Alex nod. It was best if she doesn't do anything right now.

'I thought you were a genius.'

Hikaru let out his feelings.

'But you're re just a madman.'

He slammed the door. Alex quietly stood there with no words to give in return. Things were made worse.
