Do I still have to write chap names?

Bullets came non-stop after the order. Alex pulled Hikaru to safety. Alex fired a few shots, grabbing Hikaru's hand, he joined Jason.

'What Are We Going to do? We're going to die. We're going to die!'

'Shut up, Hikaru! No one's dying.'

Alex scolded Hikaru, who was in tears.

'Jason, we have no choice.'

Jason nodded. The men were rushing in, furiously firing. Alex and Jason were having a tough time fending them off and making sure Hikaru doesn't get hurt. They had spotted a door that might lead to the lab, but since Hikaru was there, they decided to keep it quiet.

Now, it was their only chance to get away. Alex handed Hikaru to Jason and provided cover while Jason rushed to the door. He kicked it open, and Hikaru saw the darkness of the abyss beneath.

'What are you planning? What's that?'

Hikaru's heart was about to stop.

'Jump!'

Alex shouted as he was barely keeping the men occupied. He had stolen a rifle and was firing it.

'Jump? In there? You're mad!'

'Sorry for my rudeness.'

'Huh?'

Jason pushed Hikaru in the black pits of the unknown. He then jumped and shot the anchor from his gun to lower himself, catching Hikaru's hand, who was screaming his head off.

Alex saw that Hikaru got to safety. Alex threw his gun, which made a solid hit taking out two men and made a run for it. He punched the frame of the door as hard as he could, causing it to collapse as he jumped. He was falling hard was but managed to land on his feet, breaking his legs.

Jason was already down with a flashlight with Hikaru, who had twisted his ankle down the way. He was in tears and was near fainting, but fear of death kept him awake. It was a long fall, and Hikaru saw Alex managed to land on his feet. He was surprised Alex wasn't hurt.

'Alex, are you alright?'

Jason asked.

'The fall was about a hundred meters, so I've broken my legs. They'll be healed in a minute or two.'

Alex calmly replied, dusting his hair.

'Just what is happening!!!'

Everything was going over Hikaru's head. In one moment, he was checking out an old basement and in the next bullets were being fired. Everything went chaotic, and the next thing he knows, he's in a dark ditch who knows where.

Jason didn't like this. The person who they worked hard to remove from Jira was again pulled in.

'Listen, Hikaru. I know it's a lot to take in.'

Alex placed his hand on his shoulder.

'The only thing you need to know is that we are good, they're bad, and you'll die if they catch you.'

*Like that's going to make him feel better. Nice explanation, Alex.*

Tear formed in Hikaru's eyes. Tears that became a river started pouring. His legs gave up as he knelt down.

'I don't want to die.'

'None of us want to die, but crying will not prevent us from dying.'

Jason handed Hikaru a flashlight.

'If you want to survive, then struggle. I am going ahead to search this area.'

Jason went away, searching for a way out. His words held harshness, but those words touched Hikaru. He had already decided he would become a new man who was not weak anymore. This was the time to become stronger.

He became calmer, and after taking a deep breath, he stood up. The vicinity had a foul stench of blood, rotting corpses, chemicals, and everything else in between. This place was indeed the same one where Alex got the surgery.

An ocean of corpses laid, all which resembled fear, terror, and desperateness. There used to be a staircase that connected this facility to the door in the basement. Alex was given a tour on his first day here and remembered the place well. But try as he might, he couldn't remember a second exit.

The three of them might be stuck in there. Jason checked if anything still functioned but no luck. The facility was thoroughly destroyed. He feared that Vanessa might have been right. Alex was looking for anything he could use to treat Hikaru's ankle. While aiming his flashlight, his eyes caught something reflecting back the light.

Everything there was covered with dust. There shouldn't be anything clean enough to reflect the light back.

'Hey, Jason. Check this out.'

Alex called out to him.

Taking Hikaru with him, Alex found out that the reflecting object was a metal door. Jason joined him.

'I'm sure that this wasn't there before.'

The door was lustrous enough to support Alex's point. The door appeared new and did not show any sign of being affected by the explosion, meaning it was placed there recently.

'Alex, can you break it down?'

'Hmm...It looks pretty strong. Maybe Hikaru can burst through-'

'Huh?'

Alex remembered Hikaru can't do that anymore. Hikaru was confused about how suddenly his name was attached with bursting through something.

'Never mind. I can probably break it down if we can loosen it up a bit. But we might need some kind of explosion.'

Alex placed his finger on his chin and began to think. He didn't need to. Something came flying over to them, it was a small round object. Alex caught it purely on reflex.

--How convenient.

'This can work. Jason, take Hikaru and give me your jacket.'

'What is that!?'

Alex tossed Hikaru to Jason, he was happy to get away from what Alex held. Jason took off his jacket after seeing what Alex had. A barrage of bullets came moments after the flying object.

The men had found another way other than the doorway to get into the facility. What Alex had caught was a live grenade. He took the jacket and held the shell directly at the top right corner.

The grenade exploded, and with its force, the top right corner was dangling. Even with Jason's bulletproof clothes, the shrapnels managed to get into Alex's hand.

--Damn, that stings.

'How did they manage to get down?'

Hikaru asked in panic.

'I'm not sticking around to find out.'

Alex punched the door hard, and after a good kick, the door was no more and revealed a tunnel.

'Hurry.'

Jason carried Hikaru and ran inside following Alex. Hikaru was stunned to see such raw strength. He also couldn't believe a grenade had no effect on Alex couldn't afford to hide his abilities in this situation. More and more of his secrets being revealed to Hikaru.

Hikaru didn't have the time to ask how him how he managed to do such inhuman feats. The men were hot on their tails. Alex didn't have a gun, and Jason doubted his ammo will last against 10 men who were fully geared.

Hikaru was shifted to Alex's back so that they could run faster.

'Just who are they?'

'Mercenaries. People who fight for money. Jira has hired them.'

Jason answered his question.

'Who's Jira?'

'The bad guys, now be quiet.'

Alex said while they ran. Now wasn't the time to answer Hikaru's question. The tunnel was a desirable place for the soldiers. No place to hide or take cover. Alex and Jason kept running without looking back. The tube went on and opened up what seemed like a central hall.

'You have got to be kidding me.'
