Off a train, into a train wreck.

No sooner than he alighted from the train had he spotted Mr. Andy Cornelius - Brighton's chief of police. The two had never met prior to this, yet Edward had it easy to notice him by his distinct uniform. The navy blue suit like outfit with its many utilities all topped off by a blue helmet bearing the police logo on its front all complimented the fairly pale causation skin of the chief so well. He was just about Edwards height - 7 to 8 feet perhaps, - he had a broad shoulder and strong muscular figure with a sunken stomach. His skin was clear as day. He was an Adonis to say the very least. His brown eyes, perfectly short nose and just the right spacing between the eyes with his square face and distinct chin. He was a spectacle to behold in his own right.

Edward on the other hand was casually dressed with merely a functional look. He had on a checked shirt that had strips of blue and white and a badge colored trousers with white sneakers to finish up the informality. His figure was quite similar to that of the chief, muscular and strong looking. His skin however was slightly darker, amazingly similar to the color of chocolate milk. His skin was still fairly clear and fine in nature and in a sense complemented his navy blue eyes so well. The strong bone structure that could almost be seen through his skin made it so easy to notice a smile on his face.

"Mr. Cornelius I presume." Edward stated as he reached closer to the man, "I am detective Edward Smart, I believe you were waiting for me." "Mr. Smart, a pleasure to meet you. Yes I am Mr. Cornelius, chief of Brighton police. These gentlemen besides me are my coworkers and apparently your coworkers as well." His cortege included Mr. James Norwell, second in charge of Brighton police and Mr. Frank Rosen, formally the partner of the late detective Brian Cyrus. "Greetings gentleman." Edward says to the two. "Hello sir Edward, am Mr. Frank Rosen. I was Brian's partner. And now I guess I will be your partner from now on. Can't wait to work with you." Frank replied. "And am Mr. James Norwell. Am second in charge of Brighton police. I must say we are so excited to receive you Mr. Edward. So much has been said of you in the police world. Now we finally get to see you in real live action. Please feel most welcome." Mr. Norwell says to him. "Thank you so much. Am really looking forward to working with you all here." Edward replies. The conversation continued in this manner until the chief interrupts saying, "Why don't we take this to the office shall we. Am sure the other officers are eagerly awaiting your presence as well." "Ok I can't to meet everyone." Edward replies.

Edward was keen taking in the site of the train station he had heard so much about from his father but never had the chance to see. His father must have been at this train station hundreds of times and probably told Edward about it a thousand times. It was quite exuberating for Edward to be there at that moment. Being a detective he paid so much attention to details.

Edward had a precarious curiosity to understand everything as best he could. It was a part of him that trickled back all the way to his childhood. It was likely one of the reasons Edward was such a great detective. His incredible love for finding the truth and his strong will to gain insight.

He took in the beauty of the train station as best he could admiring everything he saw. As the group of Mr. Cornelius and his team passed by another train that had just arrived he peered closer at the disembarking passengers and notices a something that he perceives as rather peculiar.

A man is carrying a brown colored suit case made of fine leather with a logo that stated 'Made in Switzerland.' He wondered why the bag wasn't left in the baggage ail as it should. He also noticed that a bag of that quality must have been quite expensive and judging by the mans clothing which looked to be of extremely low quality as they had some strings that were hanging out of the sides and Edward could clearly see some threads pulling out of them. And his watch which was clearly cheap in his perception due to the faded coloring of its top layer, he deduced that the man could not possibly afford such an expensive suit case.

His attention was however drawn to Mr. Cornelius as he asked Edward whether he wished to get a rest and see his office the day to follow or whether he would prefer a quick tour of his workplace before he retired to his apartment.

Edwards enthusiasm was so great that it drove him to decide to take a tour of the police station that very day. He couldn't wait another second to get to work, after all, he did have big shoes to fill. Edward was a newly graduated detective from the French police academy. However, he was by no means inexperienced in any way. He had as a child an incredible love for mystery solving and, as he advanced, was able to assist as an intern at the Paris central police station in France during his finally year of high school.

He worked well and proved to be a brilliant crime fighter even though he had to work behind the scenes. This earned him a reputation even before he entered the police academy. His reputation only gained much favour after he scored best in all the fields in his entry. Once he got to work in Paris he proved once more just how good he is. He made the whole city safer.

He had proven to be an exemplary detective and with an amazing ability of keen insight. In spite of his youth, the Brighton police employers decided on giving him a chance to fill the shoes of the great Brian Cyrus. The position of detective became vacant in Brighton upon the devastating murder of Brian Cyrus, who served as detective in Brighton for ten years.

Brian was suspected to have been murdered by Zimo kremic, a man who Brian had arrested a few years ago for attempted robbery of a small shop in mid town. Zimo was released early for good behavior and a report from officers testifying to the reformation of Zimo. But only four days later found himself behind bars for murdering the detective that day.

Zimo claimed his innocence so strongly yet in vain.

Edward now found himself staring right at the police station. He looked at the stair case as though he were trying to figure out how to climb them. "Nervous Mr. Edward?" the chief said as the three men with Edward shared a light chuckle. "Don't worry they will be so glad to see you. Let's go in." Edward and his new contemporaries stepped into the station at the same time.

Edward was a bit uneasy to say the least. You could see the nervousness in his eyes. He was introduced to a good number of other officers as they stood in a show of respect for their chief. Edward was slightly less chatty and asked to see his new office after meeting a good few of his new workmates. Edward would find his new office piled with numerous cases for him so solve.

The chief told Edward that he didn't have to get straight to it and that he needed a day or two to get readjusted to the system but enthusiast Edward was having none of it. He was a man of all business so it was a straight to business type of thing for him. He instantly found himself comfortable in his seat and in about ten to fifteen minutes of looking left and right in his office he began to familiarize himself with his new environment. He then began to peer through the documents that were piled on the desk one by one without letup.

He looked through one after the other continuously. He would pick up one document once, put it down and read another document and then take the document again and read it once more. As it got darker he decided it would be best if he continued his examination from home and decided to take some of the more interesting documents home with him. He had to ask Frank to help him acquire some extra documents from the records office. Frank was a bit shell shocked at the unbelievable work ethic of this new man who had just arrived but would not even bother to settle into his home before getting to work. And Frank wasn't only one amazed by him. Many in the station raised their eyebrows at the new detective. Frank however did not let his wonder of his mind hinder his work and did as his new detective asked. After being handed the documents he informed the chief of his wishes to depart. The chief booked a cab on his behalf and gave the driver the directions to the apartment. Edwards luggage was handed to the driver as well. The driver did as instructed and delivered Edward to his new home. Edward still anxious about the new town spent the whole car ride staring out the window admiring the tranquil state of Brighton. As the entered saint James street Edward began to see the beautiful houses that people lived in. He recalled the words of his father as he told Edward stories of how some of the richest men in Brighton loved living in saint James street on account of the beautiful houses it hosted. That part of Brighton was particularly luxurious on the basis of its controversial combination of modern day infrastructure and natural feature like trees and exotic bushes that complimented the atmosphere so amicably. The trip was relatively short and in no time at all Edward was outside his apartment. The driver was kind enough to assist Edward in setting his luggage inside his new home. The furniture was already in place as per prior arrangements. Again Edward found himself staring at stair cases with an intrigue of rather strange nature. He eventually fished his mind out of wherever it had wondered and began to make his way into his new home.
