First day of work I think his innocent.

The sun rose shining its ever so bright rays straight through Edwards window. Edward had gotten up early that morning still trying hard to understand what's happening in Brighton. He has a few slices of bread and a cup of tea for breakfast. Even as he ate the expression of his face depicted that of a man deep in thought. As soon as he was done with breakfast he rushed out the door to search for answers.

He immediately set a course for the police station on foot. He moved very quickly. He barely took in the scenes of busy Brighton morning as he rushed by seemingly preoccupied in mind. He arrived merely twenty minutes later at the police station, exchanged pleasantries with Frank and organized to see the incarcerated suspect, Zimo. Zimo was brought out of his cell into the interrogation room and took his seat rather calmly. He had been here before after all, so he knew exactly what was about to happen.

Zimo was likely expecting a myriad of questions that would try to force him into admitting he was guilty even though he wasn't. But to his surprise Edward just stared at him for the first five minutes. The room was motionless, neither of the two men made a squeak. They just stared into each others eyes as though they were communicating directly without speech. Then finally, Edward broke the silence. "I've read your profile Mr. Kremic, it says that in you time in jail you were part of a correctional program and that at the end of it you had been evaluated to be a changed man, a man willing to follow law and work hard. This analysis was done just days before your release. After you were released, u began to live with your mother again, u started work at a toy shop in mid town. U proved to be a good citizen and living proof that the system can reform people. Is this true?" "You read for yourself, I know I did bad things in the past but I changed, I really did." Zimo replied.

"You were accused of killing Brian Cyrus, the detective that put you behind bars in the first place. I only have one question for you. Is this true? Did you really kill the man?" Edward asked. "No, hell no, this is all a mistake, am innocent." Zimo replied with much emotion. "I want to believe you but the evidence is staked against you. Unless you can provide us with anything that you think will help clear you name." Edward said. "I was with my friend James on that day. We had gone for a long walk along the country side. But.." Zimo paused as he spoke "But what?" Edward asked.

James had been interrogated earlier and denied all of this. "James had denied being with me on that day, I don't know why but he even claims not to know me. That's why am in here, because the police think I tried to lie and that I must be guilty." Zimo iterated rather sadly. Edward staring straight at him was now filled with pity. Yet he composed himself and said, "Interesting indeed." He the asked the guard by some gestures to return Zimo to his cell. Edward then asked Frank to make arrangements to meet James.

Edward however, stepped into the records office and asked for a document of people who entered Brighton in the month before the murders. He then waited for Frank to give him James' address.

When he received the address he took off posthaste. He asked Frank to accompany him. He spent the nearly the entire journey without uttering a single word to Frank. He constantly had his eyes fixed keenly on the documents he acquired from the registries office.

Frank finally broke the silence, "Do you really think Zimo is innocent?" He asked. "I don't think, I know for a fact that he's innocent. I've seen the eyes of murderers before, but his eyes aren't them." Edward replied strongly looking at Frank with a smirk. "But Zimo did have the motive to kill him. Brian put him away for years. And Zimo did in fact have a grudge against him. It would make sense to exert his revenge." Frank argued. "Exactly, which makes him the perfect man to frame." Edward replied.

"I never thought of it that way." Frank said as he contemplated Edwards words. The two smiled at each other as though they had already solved the case.

They soon arrived at James residence. They Knocked on the door and James came out. You could clearly make out some frustration on his face as he looked at the gentlemen. You could almost say that James knew exactly what the two wanted and didn't like it at all. "How can I help you?" James uttered.

"Am detective Edward Smart and this Is my associate Mr. Frank. We have a few questions for you. Can we come in?" Edward asked. "I already spoke to the police and told them all they wanted to know. I don't see the need to answer anymore questions. Please leave my house now, I have no business with you." James replied with some anger in his voice. Edward now knew for sure that James had something to hide. He could isolate the nervousness in his voice and sensed the tension. "Who told you we are police?" Edward asks. James remains silent. "Please its just a few questions and we'll be on our way." Edward said as calmly as he could to try and calm the situation. "Fine you can come in, but make it quick. I have a life to live you know." James eventually gave in.

Edward and Frank proceeded to the living room. Frank had not the slightest idea what questions to ask him or how Edward planned to get a confession from James. Frank was part of the team that asked James questions in the first interrogation. Edward on the other hand knew all to well from the response he got at the door that a confession was too far fetched. He know it would be pointless to try.

He instead thought to use his observation. He noticed that the house was newly furnished as he looked all around. But he had to say something to James so he used his wits and said, "I love the new furniture, though I am curious as to how u acquired it seeing as you have a low income job and your record says you were in debt. Have you perhaps done a little extra work for someone who pays well." James flitches a bit at hearing this then composes himself and says, "My finances are my business detective. I thought you were here to talk about Zimo not me."

" Yes you friend." Edward replies staring straight into James' eyes. "His not my friend. I already told your associate here that I don't know him. And I don't know why he would claim such I have never met him in my life" James says rather upset at the detective. "So you claim.." Edward iterates again staring him straight into his eyes. "Are you accusing me of lying?"

The tension in James voice was now plainly heard and very clear. "No one said that Mr. James he was just asking a question relax. This is all just standard procedure." Frank said trying to calm the situation. Edward however noticed a box on the table. It was strange to him.

Dark brown, cubic in shape and an interesting symbol on its top. It was labelled to be made in Switzerland. Edward thought for a second. James noticed him looking at the box so menacingly and said, "It was a gift detective. Don't stress yourself. I think its high time you went on your way." "Fine!" Edward replied strongly as the two gentlemen excused themselves and James so happy for their departure saw them out. "See you soon Mr. James" Edward muttered with a satisfied smirk.

James was now uneasy after seeing the smirk on Edwards face. He closed the door and sat on his chair contemplating his next move.

Edward and Frank now moved on to there next stop.
