Face to face with a mastermind.

He was probably wondering why his interlocutor was so calm. Edward did his best to hide his nervousness but this proved futile. He was starring face to face with the man he suspected of killing about a dozen people including probably the best detective of the time and laundering large amounts of money. Not to mention blind folding the entire brighten police department. He knew that Mr Galvin's intelligence was extraordinarily commendable in the very least thus knew that there must have been a reason for his calmness.

He faltered to the seat that was offered to him with half an eye fixed sternly on his interlocutor anxiously anticipating his next words. He finally sat down. He received the kind of glare he was usually on the other end of. Mr. Galvin's eyes peered at Edward so menacingly that Edward's nerves were plainly seen again.

Edward gathered up his strength and asked, "Were you expecting me?" Mr. Galvin gave a light chuckle before replying. "kkk not exactly Mr. Smart. I knew that you would catch up with me soon. I just didn't expect it to be this soon." "so what happens now? Are you going to kill me too? Or maybe frame me of a crime." "kkkkk you are very clever Mr. Smart, but cleverness can only get you so far. I have to admit i underestimated you Mr. Smart, that was my error. But i assure you it wont happen again." Mr. Galvin pauses for a second and looks straight at Edward.

Then he continues "You've seen what am capable of Mr. Smart. I strongly suggest you refrain from poking your nose in my business. Believe me, it won't end well." Edward gathers his confidence and speakers up, "Won't end well for who?" Edward asks starring his interlocutor right back into his eyes with his piercing glance. Mr. Galvin says nothing in response but merely gives a slight smile. "How did you make those men look like Zimo and Tom?" Edward asks. "Curiosity, Mr. Smart, can lead a man to open Pandora's box. We both know what happens when that box opens. So are you sure you want to know the answer to that question." "Very sure!" Edward now speaks with great conviction. All the fear he had was gone.

The fearless detective Smart was back to his fearless self. Mr. Galvin sensing his advantage to be lost says, "its time for you to take your leave Mr. Smart, hope to see you at another time perhaps." Mr. Galvin now picks up his phone and starts to make a call. Edward took the chance to glance at the documents on the table.

He also has a quick look around the room and noticed the suit case he saw at the train station and coming into the restaurant. It had a euro note sticking out of it. "Thank you for your hospitality sir hope to see you soon." Edward says and quickly rushes out of the office and proceeds without hesitation out of the restaurant looking all ways in caution.

All the nerves he had been holding back in the office with Mr. Galvin all let themselves out in the form of deep breaths of relief. The joy of not being in that room with Mr. Galvin were all too clear on Edward's face.

He now set a course back to the police station.
