Sparring (2)

"Fight!" said the instructor.

Jin and Kai immediately rushed at each other. While Jin used boxing for starters, Kai was using kungfu. Jin tried to jab Kai, but he dodged and rushed at Jin, trying to punch him. Jin blocked it but took a few steps back. "His strength is crazy," Jin thought.

His hand was a little numb because of that punch, but Jin also grinned a little because he had gained the [Kungfu] skill.

Kai then rushed again at Jin, trying to kick him, but Jin dodged and used the same punch as Kai. Kai took a few steps backward and looked at Jin with a surprised face. "Although it's the same technique, why does it feel different?" Kai thought.

But Jin didn't give Kai time to think; Jin immediately rushed at Kai. Kai tried to punch Jin with a karate punch, but Jin dodged it and used MMA to slam Kai into the ground. Jack was staring at Jin because Jin was using his technique.

While Kai was on the ground, Jin was trying to kick him, but Kai then held Jin's leg and joint-locked him. But Jin immediately freed himself.

Jin then got some distance from Kai. "Damn it, although I have all these skills, my experience to use them correctly is still lacking," Jin was thinking. Then Jin tried to use Systema, Krav Maga, and Lerdrit to end the spar quickly.

Jin then rushed at Kai. Kai, who was seeing this, then got into a position. After seeing Jin was close enough, Kai then used his karate to attack Jin. Jin then grinned and tried to catch Kai's hand, but suddenly Kai's hand changed and slammed Jin. Jin then tried to release himself, but Kai, who was using his Shuai Jiao, immediately slammed Jin as hard as he could.

"Stop, Kai wins," the instructor said to both of them. Jin and Kai then stood up and went back to their sitting position.

"We will have spar every day, but the opponent will change every time, so you will have a chance to fight the other," said the instructor.

"Yes, sir."

"Now, take a rest. Tomorrow, we will show you how to use a gun."

"Yes, sir."

All of them then stood up and exited the training ground.

While on the way back to the dorm, Budi asked Jin, "Did you copy other martial arts?"

Everyone who was walking with them then focused their hearing on this.

"I guess you can say that."

"Did you copy mine?"

"It's not copying, I just make it mine."

Jin then walked a little bit faster.

"Isn't it stealing? What a monster," everyone had the same thought.

"Did he really copy other people's martial arts? Because the technique that he used earlier, although it's the same, why does it feel more refined than mine?" Kai was in deep thought. He then walked back to his room.

Jin, who was taking a shower, didn't know that everybody was thinking about him.

"I need to train more. I still can't decide which martial art is perfect for the situation. If only I use Budi Silat defensive form, maybe I can win. Well, there's still a lot of time. Maybe next time," Jin thought.

Jin then turned off the shower and exited his bathroom. After Jin put on his clothes, he went to the cafeteria.

After reaching the cafeteria, Jin saw Ava sitting alone while playing with her laptop. Jin then decided to approach her.

As Jin approached Ava in the cafeteria, he couldn't help but feel a little nervous. He cleared his throat and asked, "What are you doing?"

Ava glanced up from her laptop and raised an eyebrow. "Oh, just hacking into the Pentagon. What does it look like I'm doing?"

Jin's eyes widened in surprise. "Seriously? That's pretty impressive."

Ava grinned. "Relax, I'm just kidding. I'm actually just messing around with some code."

Jin chuckled in relief. "Oh, okay. You had me going there for a second."

Ava smirked. "You really think I'm capable of hacking into the Pentagon? I'm flattered."

Jin laughed. "Well, I don't know you that well yet, so who knows?"

Ava closed her laptop and gestured to the empty seat across from her. "Want to sit down?"

Jin nodded eagerly and took a seat. "Sure, thanks."

They chatted for a while about their interests, and hobbies. Jin found himself laughing and enjoying Ava's company. She was witty, intelligent, and had a sarcastic sense of humor that he found endearing.

After a while, Ava checked her watch and sighed. "I should probably get going. I have to meet John in a few minutes."

Jin felt a pang of disappointment but tried to hide it. "Oh, okay. Thanks for letting me hang out with you for a bit."

Ava smiled. "No problem. It was nice to have some company."

Jin stood up and grabbed his backpack. "Yeah, it was great. We should hang out again sometime."

Ava nodded. "Definitely. See you around, Jin."

As Jin walked away, he couldn't help but feel a little giddy. He had just had a great conversation with Ava, and he couldn't wait to see her again.

Jin entered his room and closed the door behind him, excited to try out the new martial arts techniques he had learned. He could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins as he stretched and warmed up. Jin focused on mastering each move and technique, determined to become a skilled fighter.

As he progressed through the techniques, Jin realized that some of them were much more challenging than others. For example, with Chai Lerdrit, he struggled to use it effectively and knew that he needed more practice to perfect it. Jin's muscles ached and his body was covered in sweat as he trained.

Feeling satisfied with his progress, Jin decided to take a quick shower to cool down his muscles before going to bed.

As he stood under the refreshing stream of water, he reflected on his progress in the martial arts and how he could improve.

Finally, Jin got into his comfortable bed and pulled the covers up to his chin. He closed his eyes and thought about the new day ahead. With his instant mastery trait, he knew that he could easily master any gun. Feeling confident, Jin drifted off to sleep, eagerly anticipating what tomorrow would bring.
