1 (Chapter 1) Moonlights rebirth

The day had finally come when she would get to cosplay, her friend had managed to convince her to go to a con. As she watched herself in the mirror, it reflected a shaking figure with bright red hair and blue eyes. The grey foam padding of her armor near her neck was a bit irritating, as her hands moved from her neck down and pass the yellow cross that rested over a red fairy that marked the armor down towards a frill in the blue skirt she was wearing. Smiling with a hint of red in her checks all that she had left to put on was her black combat boots and grey foam gloves to complete her outfit. As she moved some of her hair over one of her ears, the shine of a silver earing gleamed from the sunlight warm rays, she had opened her curtains to get some nature light in. She couldn't help but feel excited as today was her birthday and she would finally get to do something fun for a chance instead of spending it alone in her room playing ff14.

As she moved towards the door and grabbed a knife, as she leaned herself against the door, she moved the knife over her head and dug it into the wooden door frame. Right next to it was a wallpaper that measured height. As she moved away and placed the knife back on her nightstand, she ran her finger over the cut and towards the wallpaper. If anyone was looking at her right now, they would see a smug grin as she looked at the number, however anyone that looked at the door frame would notice the multiple cuts on the doorframe. And how it was one a couple of inches higher, and how there was a total of 18 cuts from the latest cut downward. Her finger Rested on the number 154 cm.

But as she looked down towards her chest her grin faltered. Sighing she moved back to her nightstand and opened it to grab a notebook and pen. Flipping it open she began to write. As she reread what she wrote. "Month July 12, Weight 45kg her measurements are 83–61–84 centimeters." Her doctor had told her to always keep a record of herself as it would make her job easier when she came in for checkups. As she looked, she reached for her phone to check the time. "7:39" Her friend would be there to pick her up in bit, so she rushed to put on her boots and grabbed her backpack, making her way towards the kitchen she grabbed two water bottles and some snacks.

Turning towards a photo of her mother and father, stopping for a moment she when to the fridge pulling out a tray of sliced fruit, she placed it Infront. She stood there while bowing, little droplets of water fell towards the floor. As she raised her head, she moved her hands to clean her cheeks forcing a grin and began to move her hands in sign Language " Mother, Father I'm heading out now". Giving one final bow she moved towards the door, making sure she had everything she needed. she opened the door and locked it as she left to wait outside.

exiting her small home, she sat on the stone steps and waited for her friend, taking in the summer breezes. Her gaze drifted as she watched strangers walking down and up the street, some giving her weird looks causing her cheeks to turn a shade brighter of red. She was grateful for the tree that grow in front of her home providing her with shade but began to wonder if it was a good idea to wait outside dressed the way she was. As these thoughts sprouted more in her mind. 'HONK" causing her to jump a bit as she gazes shot up and towards a grinning fool of her best friend followed by her laughing with wheezed breath " Sorry Aiko, I couldn't help it" Her friend said as she opened the door from inside of her car for her. With an annoyed look Aiko made her way towards the car and got in the passenger seat, Placing her bag behind her in the back seats.

Moving her hands, she signed" That was such a dick move Sam, i nearly had a heart attack" Sam's laugh grow a bit louder as she apologized again to her. Sam was taller than her by a fair bit and bigger and others which she loved to tease her about, the Blondy had help her the day before with dyeing her hair red to fit her cosplay. "Hey Aiko, why are you not using the text to speech app you downloaded" Sam asked a bit confused as Aiko opened her phone and began to use it. " Habits die hard i guess' she wrote as her friend began to drive her car. It was a light silver mini cooper. On the way there they chatted about different anime's that they were watching along with raids they had plan for the weekend on ff14. It had taken roughly an Hour and a half to get the con.

Finding a parking place was what had taken those extra 30 mins, they had found a good stop to take photos with people, Sam charging 5 dollars for people to take pictures with them. Her cosplay was that of Wendy as both of them were big fairy tail fans. Aiko had remembered how they had become friends when she first moved over to the states because of her father's job all those years ago.

She was grateful to the air head even with her constant teasing. They spent they first few hours taking photos, thanks to Sam's idea they hadn't spent any of the money they had brought with them yet. She was still surprised that people were willing to pay to take photos with her. Still, it was nice, they had found a place to sit while inside, thank God they had Aircons going she though as she pulled out her water bottle and drank from it. As she was drinking her friend looked at her with a open hand. As she placed her water bottle down and began to search her backpack for the other one, Sam had grabbed the one she was drinking from and began to sip from it.

This caused Aiko face to brighten as her hand was holding the unopen bottle of water. Sam sticked her tongue out at her and finished the rest of Aiko's bottle. There she goes with her teasing again she though, as they moved to get some food and shop at the stalls. As they were standing the 18+ section there were a bunch of weird toys and some really pretty figures. This was probably why Sam had told her to make sure to bring her id with her. As for Sam herself she was busy looking through a few manga of Yuri. As Sam when to pay Aiko Noticed something odd. there was some kind of grayish dust landing on Sam's head.

As she looked up, she saw a broken beam barley hanging on it seemed it would break at any moment. She rushed to Sam and as she pushed her out of the way a loud snapping sound was heard as something heavy landed on her back. There was a lot of shouting Aiko though as she found herself face first into the ground, she was feeling really tired for some reason, and she couldn't move her legs. As she felt some hands touching her head she tried to look and saw Sam's crying face. She was safe that's good she though. smiling weakly at same she felt her eyelids were heaver then before.

Sam was speaking but Aiko couldn't make out what she was saying, sound seemed to have all but finished with what remained being the sound of a heartbeat slowly beginning to slow down. It was steady and, in those moments, she thought about the life she had led up to that point. The Arguments she had with her parents when they moved the the states, The moment she meet Sam. And how she would behave weirdly around her, her mother teasing their friendship.

The jokes her dad said to Sam about if only she wasn't so dumb. The day she loss them to a drunk driver and how Sam and her family was always there with her through her darkest times. She just stared into Sam's eyes as she cried for her. The only thoughts that remained was her wishing to comfort Sam as she has done for her in the past. Her eyes slowly closed as her tiredness took over.
