Chapter 40

"We have a problem," the guards told Archie.

"What is it now?" he asked.

"The royal vampire is here," he said.

"What? How did he get here?" he followed them.

He was led to the surveillance room, he could see Avril sitting in his car and other two black cars parked outside.

"What is he doing, just sitting there?" he said.

"We don't know, they have been there for minutes now," one guard said.

Archie walked back into the room where Lina, was crouched in the corner now she flinched when became closer.

"What did you do?" he said. Lina was silent looking away, bending down he held her by the chin pulling her to face him.

"Answer me, tell me why that guy is outside. How did he know you were here" he barked.

Lina met his gaze, "I told you he feels what I do"

"Stop saying nonsense and tell me what I want to know" Archie slapped her face.

She cried. Richard has told her about her bond with Avril. Him telling her to be careful but she didn't think it was for that reason. But after Richard confirmed she had to take precautions so he would not know about her brother's tests.

"I tried to hide it but you decided to go on with this torture" she groaned.

"What are you talking about? And this isn't torture we are helping you improve" he smirked.

"Improve what exactly brother, am a human being I can't just be improved like a machine" she cried.

Archie laughed, "You! Human? Don't give yourself that pleasure you don't deserve it. And I think it's time you stop calling me brother, I don't share any biological bond with a creature like you"

Lina gasped falling back, Archie closed the door and walked back to the guards.

Still in shock at how her loving brother had turned into such a ruthless person. But he was right, she had improved the way he said. During the torture, Lina could feel her body change, filled with something that was there inside of her but dormant.

A few minutes later she had screams, loud noise and sounds of people running. The lights went off and the emergency lights went on.

Trying to get the collapsed back when a piercing noise sounded in her ears, groaning her hands covered her ears.

Staggering Lina reached the door and banged, "Brother, brother... What's going on? Please open the door" she cried.

The noise in her head intensified, Lina lost her balance and was back on the cold rusty floor.

Memories came rushing through clouding her vision, she cried, "Are these my memories?"

Seeing her parents being killed and then her screaming, Lina froze as she remembered what had happened. It was she who had attacked the monsters who had killed her parents, all the feelings of that night flowed back into her.

Seeing herself rip each vampire that jumped towards her and her brothers, her then small body moved so fast they could not keep up with her.

She had collapsed soon after killing all of them, the last image was of Harry who ran to her.

"It was me, me who killed them" she cried. The noise outside the door had increased Lina opened her eyes banging the door again. She remembered what Archie had said, Avril was there.

"Avril, Avril" she called banging with all her strength. Her body was still weak from the torture to do anything even with her power back.

"Avril... Avril.... please help me..." she cried.

Archie looked face to face with something he had never seen before, he now knew Avril was holding back the first time he had threatened him.

Now he was different, he groaned as his claws dug deep into his neck. Those cold blue eyes had disappeared being replaced by something he had only seen once.

On the night of his parent's murder, Lina had turned into something evil like this. His fangs were sharper and inches out of his mouth, red cat-like eyes.

Archie felt his body fill with fear for the first time as Avril squeezed the air out of him by the neck. His warm blood flowed out as Avril's held tighter.

Leaning closer he whispered in his ear, "Am going to ask one more time, where is she?" he said.

Archie smirked painfully, "You know you can't kill me, Lina will never forgive you"

Avril scoffed, "You must not know this but I can see someone's memories if..." Archie wailed in pain when Avril bite into his neck, moving back he laughed, "You look terrified now what happened to the string brace man?"

Archie tried to fight back but Avril didn't even flinch, "You in no position to fight back now... As I was saying, I can see someone's memories if I want to.....but that works when I taste your blood. And when I did I saw how you hated her all these years, craving for a chance to torture her and when you did..."

Avril had seen how they had tortured Lina until she could not take it anymore.

"Your more vicious than us, the creatures you call evil, but not..." he stopped when he heard banging sounds and Lina's voice

Archie dropped to the floor as soon as Avril let go, he looked up but he wasn't there anymore.

Avril had disappeared.
