Unjust

Chapter one

The country named Rhodes was actually a peninsula leading to Galarta from the west. In Rhoades weather was humid and it was raining a lot.

Rhodes was once a part of Galarta, which became independent after many struggles and battles.

While the capital of Rhodes was safe and prosperous, the surrounding villages were in a terrible state. Wolves roamed freely and ogres lurked in the shadows, bandits were everywhere, constantly threatening vulnerable communities.

Among these poor villages, the Yala family lived. The hardworking parents worked hard on their small land with a unique determination and did farming for their livelihood.

The father of the family, who was once a brave warrior in the independence war, gave his wisdom and knowledge in swordsmanship to his children and introduced them to the principles and techniques of swordsmanship. Saru, the eldest son, had extraordinary talent and his father believed that he would one day become a great swordsman. His siblings, Sayo and Sara, admired his skill, and wanted to improve like him.

Sayo devoted countless hours to perfecting his technique, trying to eliminate his weaknesses and strengthen himself. On the other hand, his sister also had a lot of love and thirst for learning swordsmanship and fighting techniques.

His father however always refused to teach her and this made her sad. The father had traditional thoughts and did not see girls as suitable for battle.

Without hesitation, Sayo welcomed the opportunity to train with her sister. He taught fighting techniques to his sister and made a training opponent for himself.

The mother of the family tried to teach Sarah how to do housework or carpet weaving, but Sarah always refused.

Sayo once told Sara that he hates the idea that some jobs are for men and some for women.

Everything was good until something very unjust happened.

Every month, the villagers paid a sum of money as a tax to the village head, and the head gave the money to the high-ranking officials of Rhodes.

One day, the villagers, who had to pay taxes to the agents of Rhodes, found out about a shocking betrayal. The head of their village had embezzled their earned money and abandoned them. Because of that, a commander named Timur and his men came to the village and punished the subordinates of the former chief, and then took people's farming products instead of taxes.

The villagers saw themselves at a dead end with anger in their hearts. They faced challenges such as dealing with severe shortages of food and financial resources, all of them had to think about this problem while seeking justice. The path ahead was uncertain, but unity and stability were their only hope for survival.

Sayo and Sara were both in shock. They didn't know why things like this happened but they were sure whatever happened to the village wasn't just.

Little did they know that this was only the beginning and the worse is yet to come.
