Whispers In The Dark

revenge is the misguided attempt to transform shame and pain into pride. Being forsaken and neglected, ignored and forgotten, revenge seems a fairly competent obligation at this point. It doesn't matter who I have to hurt to get what I lost even if I have to get tortured, lied, manipulated at the end I always get what I want

Blank emptiness is a usual dream for me, like all other times when I go to sleep, nothing awaits me. I open my eyes to see an expansive forest instead of my closed door and the rest of the items in my room. My mind comes to many ideas of what happened.

I know I have a fanfic addiction, and I'm kind of hoping that I have been placed in a different world. But then reality kicked in, and I realized I might have been kidnapped and being watched for someone's entertainment.

I got up and checked my surroundings, and what I saw was quite beautiful. "Wow, where am I?" I muttered. What surrounded me was a snow forest. I looked at myself and realized that instead of brown skin, I found my skin to be pale white skin. I tried to pull on my hair, and I found white straight hair. "Man, I wish I had a mirror right about now," I stated.

"So, I'm definitely in a different world, just which world?" I wondered. After a little walking around, looking up, I saw a huge bird with white and black feathers with a red bang. I realized it was a Staraptor, and it noticed me and flew away. So, I'm in the Pokemon verse. Okay, not so bad. I could deal with this. I just need to find civilization.

I continue going forward, seeing many Ice-type Pokemon walking around, so I'm guessing I'm at Route 216, so I'm near Snowpoint or I hope I am. I never played the Diamond and Pearl games. I looked up to the sky, and I realized it's getting darker and colder. I need to find some form of cover.

A few minutes later, it was completely dark, and I decided to try climbing up a tree. Results are varied. After multiple failed attempts, I was finally able to get into a decently high tree. Turns out, I'm sharing the tree with a small bird that just gave me an uninterested glance and went back to sleep. Deep inside, I was hoping that the branch I was sleeping on didn't break while I slept.

I woke up to the morning sunrise in front of me. I groggily opened my eyes and remembered my sleepmate. Looking across, I saw the Pokemon from last night still sleeping there. It had a green tie, and from seeing that alone, I realized what it was: it was a Rowlet. I'm 99% sure Rowlets are meant to be the Aloha region starter for the protagonist of the games. So, with that knowledge, I wondered why it was in Sinnoh to begin with. Maybe it was migrating. Well, maybe I should ask it.

"Hey, hey, hey," the bird's eyes slowly opened up, and its neck turned around and faced me. "Row Row Rowlet." I'm not sure what that meant, but I'll take a guess it said, "What do you want?" So, I decided to continue on and asked, "What are you doing here?" It just stared at me, wondering what did the human want.

Now that I have its attention, I need to convince it to come with me. One reason why I would want it to come with me is because my first starter was a Rowlet, so it's kind of a sentimental value on why I would want it as my first starter in this new world. So, operation Befriend Rowlet, code name BFR (BEST FRIEND ROWLET), is a go.

I started things off with a good "So ever wanted to explore past the forest?" My Rowlet, or will be mine, responded with a hoot which I translated as maybe. So, getting bolder, I continued,

"Well, you could come with me to explore the world, battle other Pokemon, and grow stronger. Maybe, just maybe, we could be the best there ever was." With a gasp, I finished. The next hoot sounded like a yes, but to make sure, I asked one more question: "Hoot twice for yes, hoot once for no, hoot zero times for leave me alone." What felt like the longest twenty seconds of my life, Rowlet let out one hoot then another. I nearly fell out of the tree with happiness. I reached over to try to pet the cute bird.

When I reached the bird it leaned into my touch. We climbed down the tree by we I mean me as rowlet just glided down on its wings. With a hoot the rowlet landed on my head and got comfy. I asked if Rowlet knew where the nearest civilization was. It just stared at me and with a shake of its head I could tell it was a no. So with that i decide to just walk in a direction and hope to find a body of water.

I just thought about what I am wearing that could kept me warm throughout a cold night. I'm not sure how I didn't notice, but I'm wearing what could be considered the pokemon version of sweatpants and shirts with a pokeball symbol on the right. I hear a noise in the distance. It sounds like running water. I ran over to check it out. There was the most glorious sight: a nice beautiful clear stream of running water going down so far I couldn't see the end. Now I have a path to keep on going further until all my future enemies are destroyed.
