1 First time

In the blink of an eye, the paint flicked on her fair skin, brushing against her cheeks and leaving a stain on her brunette hair.

She squinted her eyes and looked down at her painting, fortunately the paint thrown at her didn't ruin her work

The gasps of the two girls who had already been warned by the fine arts teacher, Mr Rutherford, caught everyone's attention. He sighed and gave the girls a knowing look.

She sat there, quiet and could feel everyone's eye on her. This is one of her worst fears. She hates being the center of attention. Also walking in the hallway and noticing every eye on her as she walked through. But that's different because her earphones always came to her rescue, this is her worst nightmare.

Her heart raced as the stares continued, her fingers sunk into her jean shorts trying to control her left leg from shuddering.

"Hey Nan… Nancy" a girl said and immediately turned to her friend, "that is her name right?" She whispered and watched her friend shrug.

Nancy finally turned to look and she was right. All eyes were on her including Mr Rutherford.

She tried to stay hidden since she moved here. It was not an easy decision to make but she had no choice because she moved to North Carolina from New York to live with her Aunt.

Nancy has always been good at reading people's true emotions through their eyes and in that moment she realized she was being judged by a lot of the girls and the boys looked at her like they'd stripped her of her grey shirt in their heads. This was horrible.

She stood up and looked at the girls.

Emma and Jasmine, the cliché popular girls in the school, who rocked the coquette aesthetic. They always look like they came out of every girl's Pinterest board. Nancy admired it but her recent tragedy had traumatized her so much that she couldn't imagine making friends with anyone till she graduates.

She draws her lips in tightly and smiled, trying to mask her anger and anxiety.

"It's fine", Nancy said before trotting out.

"Whoa, that's the first time I've heard her voice" A student murmured in amazement

"She talks?" Another student murmured donning the same expression as the last student

"I want to see the color of her bra, bet it is as pretty as her face" Jackson, one of the dumb jocks said from his seat at the back of the classroom

The mumuring continued in the absence of Nancy.

"Focus class!", Mr Rutherford ordered.

He looked at the girls as the murmuring subsided.

"You girls are literally Seniors about to graduate, you should be focused on getting your work done and not playing with the paint. Your actions resulted in hitting your classmate and ruining her clothes. You both will apologize to her when she returns because you wouldn't like it happen to you".

Everyone was quiet as He passed his judgment on the girls with his face twisted in a snarl.

Almost all the students in Westwood highschool weren't close to Mr Rutherford because of how intense he is and how he takes every situation seriously unlike the other teachers.

"Boring", Jasmine whispered to Emma who had giggled quietly as they went back to painting.

Folding her arms as she walked passed the empty hallway towards the school bathroom, Nancy hated what had just happened. Not because of the painting messing up her face or her hair she spent so much time on that morning but the attention of the entire class on her.

The last time this had happened, she was told to give the last speech at her parents funeral and as everyone stared at her to talk, nothing had came out of her shivering lips.

She never wanted to experience eyes on her since that day.

Her head being slumped down and her legs walking as fast as she could towards the bathroom not wanting to be seen by anyone else and wondering how paint got all over one side of her face.

Nancy finally got in the bathroom.

Letting out a sigh of relief, she stared at the bathroom mirror right in front of her and saw how messy it was, her cheeks raised out of disgust. The white paint had almost gotten on her eye brows.

"I spent a long time on my hair today, ugh", she said narrowing her eyes at the stain on her hair.

She turned on the tap and the water rushed in her hands, she let out another sigh and went on take off the paint but quickly figured out that it was not as easy as she had thought.

Nancy grunted out of frustration as she looked quickly to see if there was toilet paper around and luckily there was, she rubbed it against her cheek in swift motions repeatedly until she could get it out. It worked but the smear of paint on her hair was difficult to take out.

"Oh my f**king lord", she groaned as she repeatedly tried remove the paint.

The water still running, toilet papers on the bathroom counter, constant groaning and washing.

She realized she'd have to wait till she gets home before washing her hair with shampoos which would easily take the paint out.

Nancy gave up and looked up at the mirror to see the progress.

Instantly her eyes widened up at the presence of someone staring at her through the mirror, she gasped at the gender of this person which made her turn immediately and there he was.

His folded arms, raised thick eye brows, confused expression, judgy eyes.

His obvious short sandy blonde hair styled in a mullet complimented his light complexion. His jaw was so chiseled it looked like it could cut glass. He had expressive green eyes and well groomed eyebrows that accentuates his overall attractiveness.

Nancy immediately noticed his strong and confident appearance, he is no doubt the school sweetheart. Judging from the combination of his attractive facial features, his height and athletic body made him stand out from the boys she has seen in West wood.

Nancy's hair dripped down her shirt, leaving water drops on her skin. Her heart began beating out of her chest as she stared at the random stranger who should not be in female washroom.

His eyes traveled from her half wet hair to her white adidas sneakers.

"Why are you in the male bathroom?"

Her eyes lit up on hearing his deep, raspy voice but she quickly stopped herself on realizing what he had just said, she narrowed her eyes,

"Male what????!!!!"
